For me, The Surin Phuket is still one of the very best addresses on this beautiful earth - after visiting over 80 countries. This comes from its unique “success mix”: a private, pristine sandy beach, the adjacent mountain slope with the stylishly hidden bungalows (romantic and delicately smelling), a mostly warm and helpful staff and a noticeable business policy of continuously and advantageously adapting the offer to current market demands. I visit The Surin several times a year, was just there again in April and have already booked again for December 24th. However, the hotel is threatened with something bad: the beach vendors and massage women, some of whom are very popular, have been excluded from the beach. This was not equally well received by all regular guests. There is also a risk of pressure from neighboring Surin Beach: construction of a huge viewing platform has just begun here. The massive forest clearing has already taken place, and foundation work (piling) began in April. It is still unclear to me at the moment how The Surin will manage to protect itself from this significant intervention from the directly adjacent neighborhood or to what extent the privacy and silence that is impressive today will be affected by it. When booking, I recommend that you inquire about the current state of affairs and pay special attention when choosing the bungalows immediately adjacent to it. I'm also not sure to what extent the ongoing price increases can be justified by this. Guests with walking difficulties or those who are not particularly adept at stairs should definitely inquire about the situation on site before booking.

Situated on an amazing beach with great beach staff. Quality of food was top class. Best curries in Phuket. Overall staff were great especially beach team, reception and beach restaurant. GM was very attentive and visible. Rooms were comfortable but would be better with a bathtub. Swimming pool was just too hot to swim in. We stayed in the hillside rooms which unfortunately don’t do the resort justice (at least some of them). Our room was 160 stairs from the beach which I guess is fine however it overlooked the road with very busy and noisy traffic day and night. On 2 occasions out of the 4 nights we stayed, the room was not turned down and once during the day the room was not made up by 2pm. Housekeeping let us down a little. We also felt that given it was our wedding anniversary and sons 21st birthday there could have been some kind of acknowledgment (eg champagne) like there was in the other 5 star resort we visited. It’s a great hotel and very comfortable so would recommend especially the beachside rooms but not the ones set far back or next to the entrance road. Just remember there a lot of stairs.

Stayed in a pool villa for 10 days. Villa very clean and functional. Pool warm and useful addition on a hot day. Villa just a few minutes walk to beach. During our stay Red Yellow flag was out and waves on the shore could be quite big. Sea was very warm. Not really a place to do much in the way of snorkelling due to the poor visibility. Although as others mention there are a few step at the property we had no issue with them and we are both in our late sixties. Food and service were always good. Staff always helpful. Buggy service will take you the the hotel entrance where within the space of a few metres there are a few restaurants. We tried the Sea Surin, Two brothers and the "A Chan" down a side street all were good. Can get a taxi to Bang Tao for night market on Fridays (400BHT) or Phuket town for Sunday Market (700 BHT) which hotel will arrange. Overall had a very positive experince at the Hotel

We moved here on the day of booking as our booked resort was very tired and run down. Couldn't have been happier, superb stay
