We recently stayed here for a week and loved it. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was nice, and the hillside cottage was great. We spent a lot of our time at the beach and beach bar. Would recommend the mango daiquiri. There are also plenty of cheap eats if you wander 5-10 mins from the hotel. We want to come back next year

We stayed recently in beachfront apartment which was stunning, the whole atmosphere through the hotel was first class. Most personable staff beautiful location. The only "downside" was the large amount of stairs for my age group this was a daily challenge as breakfast is on the upper level.

The beautiful Surin where do I start? we are just home after spending a wonderful 2 weeks in a deluxe beach view villa and my husband who never and I mean never goes to the same place twice wants to book again for next year. The only problem with the Surin is you won’t want to leave it and go exploring it has everything and more you could want or need in a 5* hotel and we found ourselves spending more time than we planned at the resort. From the moment you arrive you feel special and wanted upon arrival the lovely girls at reception greeted us with cold towels and a cold drink and beautiful Jasmin flower bracelets so from the off you relax and really feel the holiday to paradise has begun. Then you get taken to your room, our arrival was at night and was really exciting because you can hear the ocean so only have an idea of what you will wake up to. I would 100% go the extra mile and get a deluxe ocean view cottage you are right on the beach right beside the pool and only have the steps up to breakfast in the mornings one of the villas have many many steps so I am glad we were right beside everything. The villa is perfect so beautiful flowers on the pillows little touches like cookies left everyday your bed turned down every night. I wish I had not taken any toiletries with us they are all provided, seriously I had read this in a review and though oh no I will take my own, I never once used my own shampoo and conditioner or body wash as it was provided and magically refilled every day the ceramic bottles were a lovely touch and the contents smelled lovely. Also tooth brushes and toothpaste soap, cotton buds even mosquito sprays and after suns were provided the only thing I found I needed to take with me was sun cream and deodorant. Even the bloomin mini bar was free ( apart from wine and spirits ) and refilled every day chocolate Pringles juices water fruit juices milk so much. I could go on and on about the Surin but I will break it down with the best bits. 1... Breakfast the lovely Dadda and Kitty looked after us everyday with nothing but a smile and fussed over us every morning, the buffet breakfast is perfect I had fresh pancakes every morning made for me whenever I asked the choice is vast and little touches like juices fruit pastries vary everyday a really nice touch. 2...The beach lovely lovely lovely private and perfectly clean beach perfect to swim and snorkel although some days it did get a bit choppy but we headed into the pool you can get drinks and snacks from the pool/beach bar or from the local family vendors who are on the beach what lovely people roo and emm the young girls became our friends for the 2 weeks lovely friendly hardworking people serving cheap cold soft drinks or alcoholic drinks they work in perfect harmony with the hotel just another example of the Surin and the way they are. 3...The pool is cool clean and inviting so nice after sunbathing a dip in the pool is something we did very often. 4...Afternoon tea this was available often and although different from afternoon tea I am used 2 was a lovely touch again laid on free of charge by the surin. 5...the restaurant although a bit pricey was very nice still the best pad Thai of my stay in thailand, we did venture into phuket and ate out at restaurants around the hotel they were ok, my kids said the surin cheeseburger is the best ever. Please if you are thinking about booking the Surin but are not 100% sure please go ahead and book we checked trip advisor every day after booking and the reviews mostly great and good are deserved if you check any negative reviews you will find they are pre 2015 and can’t comment from then as I have only been in 2017 I can only imagine Manuel the hotel manager either arrived then to take control or sorted out the issues which even then were minor, Manuel what a nice guy he took the time to come and greet us the morning after we arrived to tell us a little bit about himself and to tell us whatever we needed just ask we saw him a few times throughout our stay. Please if you want the luxury beach experience either as a family or a couple book the Surin we never had to rush to get a bed at the beach or pool or a table at breakfast I was really surprised when Manuel told us the hotel was fully booked it seemed quiet most days. We will definitely be returning next year a first for us returning to the same place twice finally somewhere has won over my fussy husband and it’s called the Surin...

We loved the hotel! We stayed at the two bedroom villa rigtht on the beach, we loved the fact that you wake up and go straight to the beach, it was awesome for kids to run in and out of the villa without telling us and it was great for us to seat on the veranda, chill and see the kids. The beach itself is perfect and secluded as there are only two luxury hotels situated on the beach. For me the breakfast was perfect: plenty of fresh fruit, some dimsum, noodles and some salmon to go. The lunch and dinner were soso and very overpriced compare to those restaurants that you can find outside. Also loved the pool and the fitness area. We have rentetd out a car so even when it rained we had things to do! I higly recommend the place, we loved it!

We are fans of The Surin Phuket and hence are returning guests. On the whole, we still like the resort but have to share a few points which really need fixes so that The Surin Phuket can remain wonderful. 1) The restaurants around the Surin Beach area The Guest Services Manager of The Surin Phuket really need to review their list and update themselves so that they can maintain their professional credibility with their guests and guests do not end up wasting time and money at the wrong places. For eg. they recommend that we go to Audy for Thai food. Pls go experience it yourself and see if indeed it is a good recommendation. The place is very run down. The food is not good. We told the owner the steamed lemon juice fish is totally overcooked. He apologised but we still paid full price and nothing else was done about it. Green curry is bland and watery, mixed vegetables is very salty. This is just a place for tourists who do not know Thai food. But we did discover a few nice places on our own. We googled and went to places like Surin Chill House and 9th Glass Wine Bar and Bistro - Both are within 3 to 6 mins of walking distance from the Surin Phuket guardhouse. From the guardhouse just turn right and walk straight down. These restaurants are across the road. GREAT food and drinks. 9th Glass has an awesome Wine and Sake list - check it out. We love the Melted goat cheese on toast. The Ultimate Ribs is pricey for the small portion but good. Crab Croquette is so so, can give it a miss. Seafood Spaghetti Thai Style is nice. We also had one bottle of wonderful Napa Valley Cab Sav and 2 bottles of awesome Junmai Ginjyo Sake – prices are not cheap but well, Thai liquor tax is high. Service is very good. We had a wonderful night at 9th. Surin Chill House Thai food dishes are simple but authentic and they really listen and comply to your wishes eg. not too spicy and less salt please. So do not miss out, go check it out.. We love their Seafood Tom Yum soup, Mixed Vegetables, Fried Fish with Thai Chilli, Home made Prawn Cakes etc We have gone back there 3 times already. They also have a great beer list. They said that they will be adding Wine list next month. So let’s see. We also enjoy the Beach Restaurant at the Surin Phuket very much - BUT what is disappointing is, I just called Guest Services to ask if they can tweak the degustation menu slightly for my birthday dinner tomorrow, as I have just eaten that menu the day before. I was passed all over the place from person to person - eg. "I can't decide, the manager has gone home ", "Pls tell the breakfast manager tomorrow." Wow...I feel so welcome. Can’t someone just tell me, “I will check and let you know tomorrow.”? 2) Tennis Courts – Condition is very bad but they are addressing it. 3) Breakfast – Spread selection is OK but quality of cooking has lots of room for improvement especially the local dishes. Quite puzzling actually, I would expect The Surin not to have any problem in this area. Anyway, The Surin Phuket, hope that when we are next back, above will be fixed. See ya.
