Hidden away between trendy Kamala Beach and the pulsing nightlife and shopping of Patong Beach, sits Thavorn Beach Village & Spa. From its highly privileged perch, the property looks out across the Andaman Sea. Immaculately groomed grounds and tropical gardens fringed by the lush greenery fronting Nakalay Bay and the expanse of the pristine talcum-white stretch of sand exclusive to resort guests all set the tranquil tone for this luxe retreat. Sleeping quarters are located in a traditional Thai setting and take full advantage of their oceanfront location by boasting mesmerizing water views from private terraces and enormous picture windows. The bright sleek-lined pastel-colored décor is complemented by air conditioning, flat-screen televisions and WiFi access. The definite highlight of each room is the ultra-spacious marble-bedecked bathroom, which features semi-outdoor rain showers.

Honestly, the hotel is excellent in terms of the landscaping, restaurants, and rooms. The rooms are very clean, the gardens are well maintained, and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We received very good service during our stay. The hotel is definitely worth trying very quite and so much experience and the location so quite However, the beach needs to be cleaned of the rocks so that guests can swim comfortably and enjoy the beach more.

A lovely stay at the Thavorn for two weeks in low season with the family. Positives - Fabulous staff, very friendly and smiley as you expect from the lovely Thai people. Specific mentions to Jan around the pool/pool restaurant and the gents on the tram who were always chatty and helpful. - Absolutely stunning gardens, particularly around the pool, just beautiful. Always being swept and kept tidy after a windy night. - Fabulous pool set up. Plenty of room, not busy, comfy loungers. Great towel swap whenever you need a dry one. - The Sala for milkshakes and ice cream to die for, Noi was an especially lovely member of staff. - Happy hour seems to go on forever! 3 for the price of 2 kept the hubby happy. - Funicular railway or tram system to get you up to your room. The hill is VERY steep so this was a lifesaver and good fun. - Care for younger family members, our 14yo daughter was sick through the night on one occasion, we cleaned it up and stripped the bed etc and explained to the maid in the morning. Another member of staff came to find us later in the morning to check she was ok and gave us extra bottles of water throughout our stay. - Petting zoo. I was a bit dubious about the ethics of this but having seen the care given and the joy from the animal keepers I was relieved. My kids loved it! - Location, peaceful private beach away from the chaos of Patong but everything was within an easy taxi ride. -View from the room was amazing, unsurprisingly really as we right up at the top of the resort. - Comfy massive bed in the master bedroom, we both slept better than we had done in months. - Netflix (a vote from the kids) you can sign into your account and watch movies etc when you want to chill out in an evening or after a marathon shopping expedition. Negatives - Food unfortunately. Not unpleasant just a bit tasteless, even the Thai dishes, we had much better food outside the hotel. Breakfast was included but we ended up skipping a day here and there as we just couldn’t face the same thing over and over. - The rooms were lovely but a bit tired, we had a two bedroom family suite on the hill above the pool. It was very well laid out but a bit worn in places. - Maid service, lovely people but I think our suite needed more of a deep clean and a proper mop of the floor rather than a go round with the swiffer brush. Also they didn’t check the bathroom lotions and potions for top ups. They also dropped things out of the bins as they emptied them and left a forgotten bin bag inside the main door.
