We had a duplex suite and travelled with our three children. The suite was really super, private pool and all the amenities one would expect in a five star resort. Our butler Xor was fantastic, very professional and attentive, he recommended a super restaurant and organised trips etc. The staff in this hotel really are so attentive I really could not fault them. Breakfast was super, everything one would expect, our children were thrilled with the pancakes, waffles and proper streaky bacon! The pool area is lovely, the pool is a great temperature too. We didn’t want to encourage the dreadful elephant trekking activities (and Fantasia ) so we opted for Phuket elephant sanctuary, it was the most fabulous trip I would absolutely recommend, we fed some of the elephants and then watched them in their natural habitat, bathing and wandering. It was a very professional set up, it’s incredibly sad the way these beautiful creatures have been abused and it’s very moving to see them so happy and well cared for. We went to Catch one day, we hired half priced vip beds and had lunch etc. The beach was very nice early (we arrived at 10) but by 1 it was very crowded and not for us. All in all a fantastic holiday, this is not a beach hotel and the beaches are very crowded which might be ok for some people but not us. The hotel pool is really stunning, I would recommend relaxing there instead! Lovely pool food and service. We also went on a morning island hop which was super, phi phi islands are very touristy so you might want to look for quieter island trips. We are very lucky to have visited some of the finest hotels in the world, our recent trip to the Royal Palm in Mauritius was easily on par with this trip. Great holiday, I would recommend Twinpalms and if you’re very lucky you might even get Xor!

Twins palms is beautiful hotel, lovely pool area which was peaceful during our stay, we ate breakfast and dinner and the food was wonderful. The staff could not do enough for us. Amazing place. I would score the hotel 4.5 star, but there are some issues. Surin beach opposite was once a lively resort with bars and restaurants, sun beds and parasols. In 2015 the government bulldozed the lot flat, so it is now a public beach with no bars or facilities therefore the hotel have to bus you to Catch beach club or HQ on Kamala beach. This is a good service every 30mins. HQ was nice bar and restaurant with no restriction were you could sit, prices were a little steep but you could walk out along the beach and get better value for money if you wanted, it was OK. The Catch beach bar was a joke, after paying premium ££ to stay in a lovely hotel we arrived at the Catch beach club and were made to feel like second rated customers. We were pushed into a corner of the sun bed area on the fourth row next to the bar next door. We asked to be moved to the front and we were told it would cost 1500$Bhat each, but they remained emptied during our stay. It would seem unless you are a rich Russian willing to spend silly money on wine and Champagne you are not welcome at Catch. NZ white wine was £80 a bottle and Moet £320 plus corkage and 17% tax and service charge. You are taking the P. So Mr Olivier Gibaud get out of your BMW and go talk to some of your paying hotel customers about how you are treating them in Catch. Beautiful Hotel spoiled by its link to Catch.

Disappointed with Twinpalms. Looked better in the pics and some surprising issues: Pool area - quite limited pool chairs given hotel capacity, very fully occupied. Staff refused to help move (or allow us) to move two chairs that vacated to the “sunny side.” Furthermore, didn’t offer to bring towels to the shady chairs until we flagged them down vigorously. Very slow to take F&B orders though food/drinks did arrive promptly. Shocking lack of urgency, service or even the typical warmth at luxury hotels (particularly surprising for a hotel in Thailand). Cherry on top - charged for water by the pool and when we showed surprise the response: “of course we charge, you can go back to your room and get a free bottle of water.” Really the first 5 star (even 4 star) hotel I’ve been to without offering water by the pool (good luck with dehydration in the heat!). Rooms are fine but relatively spartan. A door for toilet and shower would be nice. Positives - close walk to the beach, Catch beach club worth a visit, nice pool just don’t expect much service... We thought the beach club affiliation would be more useful but not really much benefit vs staying elsewhere and accessing independently.

I stayed 6 nights at the end of November/early December 2017. Can not really fault it in any way. Impeccable welcome and service throughout the stay. I spent time at the Catch and HQ Beach Clubs and it was good for a restless soul such as myself to be able to use hotel facilities at 3 different beaches in one stay, including the beach butler service at Surin beach. What makes Twin Palms special is the design and layout of the place, from the front entrance through reception to the pool area and the materials used in the rooms overlooking the pool. Nice dinner at the Palm Seaside one evening but otherwise ate out at other restaurants. A special touch was that it was my 50th birthday during my stay. i did not mention this to them, nor did my partner but they worked it out and a couple of the staff said happy birthday to me, also delivered a small cake to my room. A very nice touch. When in Phuket I recommend the John Gray starlight sea canoe trip also the Flying Hanuman zipwire.

Very impressed with Twinpalms Hotel. Paid for the chauffeur drive from the airport. Our butler was there waiting for us outside the terminal. The car was luxurious and had wifi. Check in was amazing, we were able to check in with no problem at 9am. We got an upgrade from duplex to suite. Room was incredible with rooftop private pool, free movies, lots of minibars, two separate sinks, plenty of amenities. The room was cleaned and had evening turn down everyday. Breakfast was an incredible buffet with different options available everyday - including an egg station. Our butler booked us dinners and club nights each day with the partner beach clubs. Food was 10% off at the beach clubs. There are a few supermarkets very close by. Surin beach was pretty but preferred the beaches at the clubs. We did a sea canoe trip to Phang Nga and a white water rafting/ATV trip booked through the hotel which would recommend. Our butler helped us sort out medication when I got a skin allergy from a pharmacy which I was very grateful for. Really impressive hotel and staff that are really professional. Have recommended to friends and intend to return.
