The moment we walked into Twinpalms I knew we were in for a treat! We were warmly greeted and given a welcome cocktail and a fabulous smelling flower bracelet. Quickly were were checked-in and asked our preference on pillows, scent, and flowers for the room. I cannot say I really smelled the scent in the room, but it was nevertheless a nice touch. Our room was a Deluxe room located on the second floor close to reception overlooking the pool. If you are not too steady on your feet, I do not recommend a room on the second floor as it can be quite a climb to get there. The room was a decent size and had a very large bathroom. The good thing about the bathroom is the two separate sinks; the bad thing is the clear glass near the toilet and shower that overlook a courtyard. Though it is private, somehow the bathroom felt like it was very much out in the open. Bathrobes and slippers were provided along with rubber shoes to wear to the pool/beach. Additionally, there were all the necessary bathroom amenities. The pool at Twinpalms is very inviting and we were excited to head down to the pool after getting settled in our room. When you check-in you are given cards to redeem for towels by the pool. I found this an odd procedure for a hotel of this level. Do I really look like I want to steal your towel? At times the pool was crowded and it could be hard to find a sunbed midday. We had two lunches and a few cocktails by the pool and everything was satisfactory. The breakfast buffet at the Oriental Spoon was decent, while not huge. My favorite was the fresh juices and smoothies. We took the shuttle to Catch Beach Club one night for dinner. The food was fresh and quite good and we enjoyed the ambiance overlooking the beach. The meal and drinks were on the expensive side compared to other meal prices in Thailand. We returned to Catch during the day to sunbathe and it really was delightful and we appreciated the attentive beach-side service. Another day we attempted to go to HQ Beach Lounge, but unfortunately there was rain and thunder, so our trip there was brief. There are no sunbeds at HQ, but instead they set up beach mats. I have to say I prefer Catch to HQ. Surin Beach across from the hotel was nothing special and not worth your time since the Twinpalms offers access to the two beach clubs. While overall our stay was enjoyable, we had one major problem on our last night that I feel was not handled well by the hotel. Around 1am, someone rang our doorbell and was pounding loudly on our door. We were very frightened and thought it might be an emergency. We attempted to call reception and no one answered. The banging on the door continued and finally we got through to reception and they told us a drunk lady was looking for her room. I would think someone from the hotel would come help the drunk lady, but she returned several times to our room screaming and attempting to enter. We again called reception and they did not seem to care about the situation. Finally, the lady must have found her room as the noise subsided after about 30 minutes. I was disappointed in how the hotel handled this situation. I feel the security level at the Twinpalms is questionable and this incident ruined an otherwise perfect stay.

This was our 3d visit at twinpalms after 8 years. The hotel looks still fresh and modern. We had a a grand deluxe palm room and loved the room better than the penthouse suite we had the last 2 times. This room is closer to the (pool) action and more cozy. I recommend a room on the first floor for more privacy. Only downside is the view/location NOT at the beach, like e.g. the surin hotel. But the beach shuttle to twinplams runs every 30min. The surin beach is close though, but does not provide nice loungers ot other beach facilities. Hotel is excellent value for money, especially compared with the surin hotel (in high season). If beach location is a must for you, I recommend the surin hotel with its beautiful beach (prices are affordable in low season).

We recently returned from Twin Palms at Surin Beach, lovely resort set in beautiful gardens. After arriving we were greeted with a Welcome drink and a wrist garland of flowers, we were then shown to our room by Manita one of the front desk staff who was full of information about the hotel and surrounding area which allowed us to plan our time during our stay. Front desk staff always very helpful and friendly our thanks go especially to Margaux who greeted us every morning with a smile. Rooms were spacious and clean we stayed in a grande deluxe pool lagoon room and also in a deluxe palm room, being so close to the main pool I don’t think I would spend the extra for the lagoon room, the deluxe palm room that we got (Room 96) was on the second story close to the reception and had a wonderful view of the main pool. We had breakfast included and enjoyed the buffet each morning and the occasional dinner at Oriental Spoon. Spent most mornings by the pool but found if you did not get there early it was hard to get a sun bed. Really enjoyed our time at HQ and Catch beach clubs especially liked the beach at Kamala cannot say the same about beach at Surin there is no beach club and surf seemed a little rough ( Lifeguards on duty in flagged area) Beach is across the road from the resort but we found if easier and preferred to catch shuttle bus from resort to either of the beach clubs which were only a short drive away. All in all had a great stay.
