It is the best hotel in Thailand! Perfect service, perfect breakfast, gym, pool, staff, restaurant, beach clud, DJ Fabio ..... BUT therer are no facilities for children! That means that the holtel is for exciting & stylish people!! Not for screaming children!

spacious bathroom and big bed, and love that the pool is literally right in front of our room. But I thought breakfast could be better, and you would expect they could at least offer free dental kit for guests. Generally speaking it is a nice hotel.

My friend and I stayed here to celebrate our 40th Birthdays. We had an incredible experience and made memories that will last a lifetime. The staff was amazing and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our time with them. We booked 2 rooms (grand deluxe lagoon pool room and deluxe lagoon pool room) and they were both fantastic. The hotel staff ensured that we had rooms next to each other which made it fun to meet in the lagoon in the morning for coffee. The guest rooms were so comfy. When it was raining we were able to curl up on our beds, order room service and enjoy the huge selection of complimentary movies available. It was so much fun to walk into the lagoon from our patios. We also spent time at the pool and enjoyed food & beverage from the pool bar. There was a great selection of seating at the pool. I highly recommend Twin Palms Resort.

What can I say about this amazing place to do it justice? Twin Palms is a beautiful hotel, with amazing staff (shout out to Jeab!) and fantastic facilities. The pool - very much the beating heart of the resort - is stunning, and although the tranquility was sometimes ruined by badly behaved children using it as a location for their annual family “who can splash and scream the loudest“ competition, there was no better place to relax in the sunshine. When we arrived, we were greeted by smiling and attentive staff and the flower garlands and butterfly pea drink was a charming touch. As a honeymooning couple, we were particularly well looked after, including a complementary bottle of wine in the hotel restaurant, the Oriental Spoon (a perk not to be sniffed at, given the price of wine in Thailand) and a beautiful rose-themed floral display to welcome us. But. There’s a catch. Twin Palms seems to not have read the memo about what guests paying top dollar at a luxury hotel can expect included in the price. Most hotels in mosquito areas provide free repellant in the room; Twin Palms - yours for 150 baht. A small tube of toothpaste? That’ll cost you 250 baht. Fancy more than two beach towels - 500 baht each (refundable on return). Why not use our wicker beach bag to head to Surin Beach? For the bargain cost of 2800 baht! And the real kicker - notices that say “don’t drink the water - here are two complimentary 50cl bottles per day”; but if you sit by the pool outside your room and want water, that’s an extra 50 baht per bottle. If I’m honest, this rapacious appetite for (on the face of it) comparatively small sums, for items given away for free by much cheaper hotels (including the hotel we came from, and the one we then went to) spoiled the overall impression of a luxury hotel. Many guests felt the same, and although we could easily have afforded to, it would have been a smoother (and more luxurious) experience to not have every minor item coming with a price tag. I would have happily paid an extra 200 baht a day without noticing on the tariff, but being charged by the pool for the only water I was actually allowed to drink was just greedy. Otherwise, I have nothing but praise. The breakfasts were superb, the dinner and room service were equally good (and reasonably priced, for the venue) and staff could not have been friendlier. So, overall 5/5 for hotel buildings and landscape, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for facilities, 5/5 for pool, 5/5 for food and drink and 5/5 for room-rate value for money. But 1/5 for the way in which everything had a price, when most hotels include it in the fee. Olivier, what do you say?

We had a duplex suite and travelled with our three children. The suite was really super, private pool and all the amenities one would expect in a five star resort. Our butler Xor was fantastic, very professional and attentive, he recommended a super restaurant and organised trips etc. The staff in this hotel really are so attentive I really could not fault them. Breakfast was super, everything one would expect, our children were thrilled with the pancakes, waffles and proper streaky bacon! The pool area is lovely, the pool is a great temperature too. We didn’t want to encourage the dreadful elephant trekking activities (and Fantasia ) so we opted for Phuket elephant sanctuary, it was the most fabulous trip I would absolutely recommend, we fed some of the elephants and then watched them in their natural habitat, bathing and wandering. It was a very professional set up, it’s incredibly sad the way these beautiful creatures have been abused and it’s very moving to see them so happy and well cared for. We went to Catch one day, we hired half priced vip beds and had lunch etc. The beach was very nice early (we arrived at 10) but by 1 it was very crowded and not for us. All in all a fantastic holiday, this is not a beach hotel and the beaches are very crowded which might be ok for some people but not us. The hotel pool is really stunning, I would recommend relaxing there instead! Lovely pool food and service. We also went on a morning island hop which was super, phi phi islands are very touristy so you might want to look for quieter island trips. We are very lucky to have visited some of the finest hotels in the world, our recent trip to the Royal Palm in Mauritius was easily on par with this trip. Great holiday, I would recommend Twinpalms and if you’re very lucky you might even get Xor!
