Tshukudu Bush Lodge in Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa
Marvel at the grandeur of wide open plains. Savor the flavors of African cuisine. Ponder the magnificent silence of the bush around a blazing evening fire. This is a typical day at Tshukudu Bush Lodge, in Pilanesberg National Park just a few hours north of Johannesburg. This Legacy Hotels & Resorts International affiliates, whose name means "place of the rhino," features six luxury cottages and an individual private balcony ideal for potential sightings of over hundreds of bird and animal species--including the Big Five.
Not only will you have the chance to glimpse cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, sables and nocturnal brown hyenas on game walks and drives, you'll witness dramatic rock structures. The park is situated in the eroded vestiges of a volcanic crater, one of only three such craters in the world. Competing for your attention are Stone and Iron Age sites scattered throughout the park. As well, you can take advantage of recreational activities such as golf and water sports in nearby Sun City.

We stayed here for two nights (a perfect amount of time) as part of our honeymoon tour of South Africa. The location and place is very special. The staff are incredible attentive, the location breathtaking and lots of food and wine, what more could you want! Our tracker Ali was fantastic, knowledgeable about the animals and park and you can tell she cares! We were very luck with some of the spots we had with her over our 4 game rides. The lodge is a great place to Safari, you meet some great people from all over the world and leave on a high!
We stayed at Tshukudu for our honeymoon and it was just incredible! It truely exceeded all of our expectations! Beautiful rooms overlooking the plains. Delicious food and drink, they ensured your glass was always full! 5* hospitality, nothing was ever too much trouble and with a really personal touch. Special shout out to our game driver Ally who was outstanding....knowledgable, enthusiastic, with a real passion for the animals and her work. She went above and beyond to ensure we saw the 'big 5' as well as cheetahs. We can't recommend enough and fingers crossed will be back soon! Rachel and Ronan
We stayed at the lodge over a weekend to have a small get away and celebrate our anniversary, the staff were all fantastic, our game drives were filled with excitement and enthusiasm not to mention the amazing views at the lodge from the bar area and from the rooms. We felt we had become part of a little family and got to chat to a range of guests from all over the globe, we are from South Africa and found this a great way to celebrate our country for its wildlife and is beauty. We felt proud to share in this experience and would love to return again in the future. Keep up the great work staff and guides at the lodge!
I just LOVE this place. It's like deep diving but on land. So relaxing for the mind. Nothing to care about, just being in the bush. Life is reduced to the very basic but at the same time with the maximum of luxury and hospitality. Sharing stunning sightings at the fire place after game drive is something special.
