First time staying at Dolphin Bay but not first time being here. My wife and I have used the spa and the pool before and they were wonderful. So getting to stay in a room was a highlight. We were not disappointed. We were able to get a room on a sale price (even better). The suite has a full kitchen with everything to go with it. Full living room and large bedroom. The suite we had the bathroom seamed a little small but was still very nice. Had a large patio as well.We were on the ground floor and could walk right out to the pool and hot tub. The room and the resort were very quite and relaxing. We did have drinks at the restaurant Lido. The food did looked good. We will go back again!!

We came here with my parents and our twin girls for two nights, and booked two suites. It's definitely not cheap, but if you have babies, having a separate room for them to nap and sleep is critical, and it was worth the cost to ensure they (and we) could get good sleep. The resort had everything ready for the babies, with two cribs and little rubber duckies for bath time. Thankfully, the suites come with a full kitchen, filtered water, and all the pots and pans and plates one might need. This ensured that we could generally keep our routine and keep our kids happy. At ten months old at the time of the stay, routine is very important. High chairs were also provided which was nice. The suite itself was massive, and the beds comfortable. We did have to bring our own baby proofing materials, and the lamps were a bit scary, but it was a nice environment which week generally felt ok to let them crawl around. The tub was gigantic, which was nice at bath time. A special shout out to our server when we went to the on-site restaurant who really took care of us as we struggled with our twins. He made sure we had everything we needed, and never made us feel like we were causing trouble with our kids. There was a nice cliffside path outside which was nice to take our kids out with the stroller we brought with us. The size of the suite was also nice because we had plenty of room for the double stroller. There were also some restaurants within walking distance which were quite nice. Overall, the location was great, service was just right, and the room was clean and spacious. If you can afford it, this is a great place to go with your family. Traveling with kids is never easy, and having space and a full kitchen makes life much easier. There are lots of nice areas to visit around the resort easily reachable with a short drive as well.

We stayed here for 1 night to break up the journey from Carmel to Santa Barbara. The room(suite) was huge with a kitchen ,washing machine which really pleased my wife as we could get some clothes done rather than paying at hotels for laundry services. We were travelling for 3 weeks so we thought it would be good to have a stop and get a few things done. The reception staff were very welcoming and the room, bed etc were excellent. It went down hill as soon as we checked into the restaurant for our evening meal. The staff all look disinterested and every thing became a problem.Drinks were wrong and we were given something else without being asked.Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive and were wrong, service there after was average and the 4 of us become disappointed after a long drive as we were all looking forward to a rest and a good evening. The food was good but then they started clearing all the other 20 something tables away while we were still eating. We were sitting in an empty restaurant with staff peeking around the corner to see what we were doing!! Staff disappeared as I think they were embarrassed about how things went.We went to bed and left in the morning with a poor impression of Dolphin Bay. The pool and surrounding area looked good but we were not there long enough to comments. Wished we had had that extra day in Santa Barbara.

This was a girls weekend. We were treated like royalty. This was not our first time, nor will it be the last. We did have dinner in the Lido, excellent. All staff was spot on. We will be back soon. Congratulations to the new General Manager Erica Coppola! You are doing superior work.

Fantastic service from the valet to check in to the waiter at dinner. No stuffiness here, which can be an issue with higher end hotels and resorts. Highly recommend. Huge suite with balcony and great ocean view. Spotless!
