Banyan Tree Mayakoba

The service staff and concierge were excellent. We felt safe & well taken care of. The food was good. The beaches were maintained several times a day with excellent care. The pools were never dirty. They did a great job, keeping everything from wildlife to sand out of the pools. The biking paths around the resorts were great as well.

Just returned from a week at Banyan. Our experience host Angel Escamilla was absolutely amazing. This was my 6th trip to Banyan. Angel was the best host I’ve ever had. We loved Juan at the Sands bar too. And Safron, the signature Thai restaurant is delicious.

Our stay at Banyan Tree Mayakoba was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The level of service here is truly on another level — warm, thoughtful, and never forced. René, especially, deserves a special mention. He didn’t just help with organizing a birthday surprise for my husband — he checked on us throughout our stay, anticipated what we needed before we even asked, and genuinely made our trip feel effortless. His attention to detail and kindness stood out far beyond typical resort service. The resort itself is beautiful, spacious, and incredibly peaceful. Our villa was spotless, airy, and exactly the kind of private, relaxing space you hope for. The private pool was a dream, and the entire atmosphere across the resort is calm and luxurious. One of the things I appreciated the most is how family-friendly Banyan Tree is. Despite being a luxury property, it’s genuinely welcoming to kids. There are tons of activities, the kids club is excellent, and we also hired babysitters through the resort — they were amazing and made our kids feel comfortable right away. It made it possible for us to enjoy a few quiet moments while knowing our kids were in great hands. You can also easily move between the Banyan Tree and the other properties in Mayakoba, which is super convenient — quick shuttles, bikes, and golf carts make it seamless. And the direct access to the beach is a huge plus; it’s clean, calm, and never feels crowded. Overall, you can truly relax here — whether you’re on the beach, biking through the property, enjoying time as a family, or having a quiet meal in your villa. We’ve stayed at many resorts, but this one genuinely stands out for its service, kid-friendliness, and overall attention to detail. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful, luxurious, and family-friendly escape.

This is our fourth visit to this property and it continues to be outstanding. The property is beautiful and the service is wonderful. Osiel at Sands took fantastic care of us and was particularly sweet with our four year old — bringing him “the best hot chocolate EVER.” I highly recommend this hotel!

Beautiful location , very zen atmosphere . Ideal for a really restful break. Some parts of the hotel do require a facelift. We were lucky to be upgraded to a beach front villa - just wow . The villa was. Beautifully equipped, was kept spotless by amazing staff and offered an amazing sunrise and sunset experience as your bedroom is directly facing the beach and the view. Our concierge Abi was exceptional. She couldn't do enough and made our holiday a seamless experience. Our favourite restaurant was saffron for the food - and cello for the food and exceptional service. Tomahawk pop up very average and overpriced. Breakfast was ok not the best we've ever had. There was Fabulous juices, smoothies and a large selection of cold and hot food. We personally didn't like the rather large Mexican spread at breakfast each day but that's our personal choice. Overall this hotel offers a wonderful tranquil break . If you like zen like experience I wouldn't hesitate
