I actually failed to push back tears leaving The Banyan Tree, and I am not a crier. I cannot add anything more to the other reviews, just to reiterate what a special place this is with special staff everywhere you go. Even if you are lost in a day dream walking along this beautiful resort each and every staff member will great you with a smile. The kindness with which you are treated everywhere is so genuine that it has to be a great place to work, I'd think. Food fantastic, villas out of this world, facilities incredible. I cannot wait to reach a milestone birthday or life event to justify going back.

An incredible location - private villas give you your own pool and a sense of true luxury. There is nothing the staff cannot do for you and they are all clearly happy. We saw interactions with their general manager and he seems a very nice guy. Good gym facilities, free bikes so you can get to the beach independently - everything you could ever want. You won't be able to get coffee and a pastry anywhere on site so breakfast will cost a minimum of 90 USD for two people, just to warn you. Although you don't stay here unless you've got that kind of money in the first place. Really recommend also the free 50 minute eco-tour via boat around the local man-made canal system - to see turtles, crocodiles and iguanas is really thrilling. Excellent golf course. Service is extremely attentive - perhaps a little too attentive at times but it's all done with good intentions.

Not the cheapest place(!), but you get top service, top facilities (including a well equipped gym and spa), plus a free boat tour of the lagoon! The food is very expensive, but top quality, and there are free bikes and buggies to get you around the resort in safety.

Generally a good experience. The hotel went out of their way to celebrate & acknowledge our special event (5 year anniversary). But food quality, room quality, and service/attentiveness should have been better given the price. Would recommend, but likely will try another property next time we are in the area such as the Rosewood.

The Banyan Tree Mayakoba was amazing. Everything was wonderful. The room was out of this world. Having your own pool was great and hard to leave. All the dining locations were great and the food was delicious. Dining prices are in line with the price of the rooms, but the food was some of the best. Make sure you go to Tomahawk for dinner - best steak! The breakfast buffet was amazing. The Asian influence and the Mexican dishes were delicious. Mimosas are included also, which makes it even better! Service was out of this world every part of the way. Your room is always clean, the golf carts never take more than 5-10mins for a pick up, and the staff is so willing to help you.
