One Hotel. Two Properties. Lots of confusion.

I want to start by making sure that all readers understand everything about this hotel set up. First of all, google maps and apple maps both go to the wrong location when using it. Oddly enough, they both send you to different locations and neither location is correct. The hotel is technically one hotel "Hyatt Centric Playa Del Carmen". However, it's actually two hotels separated by about 3 blocks. Why does this matter? Hotel services are separated by the two locations. Gym is in one location, beach is at one location, roof top pool is another location, etc. The hotel should be two different brands and two different hotels entirely that allows guests to have reciprocal benefits at the other property. It is very confusing and unorganized. Having said that, the rooms on the beach house side are HUGE and bigger than pretty much any NYC apartment. The beach at the beach house side is VERY small. If you're thinking of excessive beach exposure, this isn't it. The downtown side has a rooftop pool that is massive but the music is extremely loud. The saving grace to this property (besides the large rooms) was the staff. They were extremely understanding and kind. I would highly recommend Hyatt to do some changes to this property and make it less confusing.

Had an amazing stay at Hyatt Centric Playa Del Carmen! We spent a week at this hotel for a birthday trip. What stood out the most was the excellent service from Eddie! We spent most of the week by the pool and he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time! Thanks Eddie!!

The rooms were attractive and very clean. The hotel staff were exceptional and personable, remembering your preferences and going over the top to meet your needs. If I have any criticism I would say the restaurant menu should be expanded.
