Basking under the shade of a palm tree as you gaze out across the clear expanse of pristine beach surrounding you, it will instantly become clear why Puerto Plata is affectionately known as "La Novia del Atlántico" (the Bride of the Atlantic). Just as the warm, white sand summons the sea, Puerto Plata's first Small Luxury Hotel of the World, Casa Colonial Beach & Spa warmly welcomes you to the gorgeous northern coast of the Dominican Republic. Casa Colonial's simple, yet refined façade calls back to Old World elegance, while the hotel's interior boasts a distinctly contemporary style—from eclectic ebony and white décor of the lobby to the marble flooring and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. Comprised of just 50 well-appointed suites, come see for yourself why the best things truly do come in small packages.

I went there twice for dinner, and on both occasions my experience was spoiled by a very unpleasant and intrusive Indian head waiter.

Don’t read anymore reviews and just book it. This place is amazing the service the rooms the views and especially the food. Stayed with parents and kids there for a few days Christmas week 2025.

My husband and I stayed with you last week, room 23. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. We agreed it was probably the most wonderful, most hospitable and gorgeous place we have stayed in our 27 years of marriage. I also would like to commend the chef in the main restaurant. The mashed yucca served with the filets of beef was fabulous!
