Reviews for Casa Colonial Beach & Spa

Best place ever!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I have never written any reviews before, but this time I felt compelled to share my experience. I highly recommend visiting Casa Colonial as soon as possible. Our family vacation there was truly magical. From the exquisite architecture and interior design to the attentive staff, delectable cuisine prepared by the chef, and the luxurious pool and spa facilities, every aspect exceeded our expectations. We have been searching for a destination like this for a long time, and Casa Colonial surpassed all our hopes. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it is also very accommodating for families with children and babies. The personalized, warm, and exceptional experience we received at Casa Colonial, complemented by the stunning tropical views, is unparalleled. This establishment certainly deserves a five-star rating.

A nice visit RUINED by rigidity

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The rooms, grounds and staff are very nice. Jonathan (doorman and bellhop) was superb. He found tennis ground for us to play across from the hotel in the golf course grounds at the last minute. He made our last day very pleasant. However, I will not give a 5 star review because we had a very unpleasant experience. We were at the deck dining area, which is outdoors next to the beach. WE were the only guests dining at that moment because it was very hot and other guests were dining inside in the air conditioned room. My husband wore a shirt that he left unbuttoned ( it is worth repeating that we were alone there, and that the shirt was on). This caught the eye of the person in charge (owner or chairperson) who was eating lunch with some relatives (a baby and a couple). The man, was wearing shorts and a dilapidated white undershirt and sandals, and the wife was wearing bedroom sleepers and shorts. This happened in the more formal/air conditioned dining room. I can understand that Casa Colonial is entitled to whatever protocol of dress they deem proper, however, if my husband was not allowed to wear a shirt (by the way a designer shirt) just because it was opened, then these rules and regulations should be written and shared with the guests prior or upon arrival and applied to EVERYONE. Both my husband and I felt very embarrassed and frankly offended at our age to be scolded in this manner. WE have traveled the world and abide by rules and regulations of each place we visit, but it seems to us that this incident was uncalled for. It was more disturbing because the next day in the same dining area, there was a pretty woman wearing her bikini top bathing suit and sandals and nobody asked her to put on a shirt and cover herself. So I wondered if this was either ageism or gender discrimination rigidly imposed on my husband. Carmen Vazquez

Heaven on Earth!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Fantastic boutique hotel with impeccable attention to detail. From the moment we arrived in the gorgeous hotel lobby, we absolutely enjoyed every minute of our relaxing vacation at Casa Colonial! The room was spacious, luxuriously appointed and very comfortable. We loved sitting on the balcony with beautiful views of the beach and the gentle ocean breezes. We also enjoyed walking on the beach and relaxing at the pool area. The hotels restaurants have extensive menu selections, including many vegetarian options. It was extremely convenient to eat all of our meals in the various restaurants on property. Each meal was absolutely delicious with generous portions and the service was spot on. While my husband enjoyed playing golf at the gorgeous adjacent golf course, I had an amazing facial at the spa! Heaven on earth! All in all, a first class 5 star experience. We can’t wait to go back to Casa Colonial!

Amazing place to stay! A true jewel!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This was by far one of the best hotels we ever stayed at. From the moment you enter the property, you notice the cleanliness, the attention to detail, the hospitality. The check in was super easy, they were expecting us with everything. Welcome drinks were served, and they were able to answer any questions we had. We were even upgraded to ocean view rooms. Our rental car was parked, and our luggage was delivered to our rooms. Both rooms were clean, well maintained. During our stay, housekeeping cleaned the rooms daily and replenished with toiletries and clean towels. Fresh fruit was waiting for us in our rooms. The pool and the hot tubs were relaxing with amazing views of the ocean. We ate at the Veranda multiple times, at the pool, on the beach as well as breakfast. Delicious food, carefully prepared and served by caring employees. The drinks were also served in a timely manner and prepared with fresh ingredients. The beach attendants assisted us daily with lounge chairs, towels, umbrellas. The concierge placed reservations for us to dine out and advised on local places to visit. The food at Lucia restaurant was out of this world with amazing service. Their espresso at the lobby bar is the best! We were assisted with luggage by Jonathan that also drove us with his cart a day before to and back from a restaurant located on the premises. He was friendly, helpful, and professional. Overall, this is a prime location, well managed and we were always cared for. We can't wait to return.

Relaxing vacation without shuttling from

Had a relaxing week at Casa Colonial. Everything is at your fingertips as it’s all in one building. Beautiful pool area on third floor, great spa on second floor, breakfast and lunch with indoor/outdoor seating and beach service on first floor. The beach is in front of building with mangrove trees, umbrellas etc. Golf very nearby. Best of all was the service with attentiveness and a smile. The property has beautiful landscaping and an orchid garden. Didn’t want to leave!

My husband and I stayed with you last week, room 23. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. We agreed it was probably the most wonderful, most hospitable and gorgeous place we have stayed in our 27 years of marriage. I also would like to commend the chef in the main restaurant. The mashed yucca served with the filets of beef was fabulous!
