Reviews for Beloved Playa Mujeres

Not worth the price

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 12 hours ago

We picked this place because it was supposed to be quiet and never crowded, and no reservations needed at the restaurants. Well, not the case. A couple of days we had to be put on waiting lists for a lounge chairs at the beach. Unacceptable not to be able to enjoy the neach. We had to just go back to our room. The saving grace on that is we had a beach front casita which was wonderful!! The staff brougt us drinks and food as we were on our terrace and enjoying the private pool. The restaurants are walk in, no reservations. Well get there early or you might get put on a waiting list. El Mar is very popular, so get there early. The food is okay. Be sure to order your steak more cooked than you like. We ordered medium rare and it usually came almost raw. Service it hit and miss in the restaurants. The Lupita Steakhouse service was horrible. We had excellent service in El Mar, and room service was awesome! The spa was wonderful! Spent a lot of time there. The gym is very good too. The taco truck is great! The cook is a rock star there. Overall, we had a very nice and relaxing stay. But for the price we paid, not being able to get chairs at the beach a couple days, and the waitlist at the restaurants is not worth it. We have never not been able to get a chair on the beach at other resorts, no matter what the price was. And other resorts let you make reservations so you can plan your days and eat when you want.

First time, but not the last

This was our first time at Beloved. We took an anniversary trip. We chose it because of the multiple reviews around service, and I would agree. Loved that it was a private beach. Everything was clean and well maintained. They cater to couples, and the vibe was exactly what we were wanting for a romantic trip. Even though the resort was at 100% occupancy, it never felt crowded. We rarely had to wait for a drink or a table, and always able to find chairs at the beach and pools. Loved the coffee shop and taco truck! All in all, it was a great trip! Neither of us wanted to come home! Met several who had been there multiple times. What a great endorsement!

Beloved Stay #4 in the Books

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I recently finished my fourth stay at Beloved with my first time staying in a swim up suite, #202. I think I found my favorite room category! A few of the days were windy, rendering the beach mostly unusable, but buildings 2/3 provided a shield from the wind and made for a great time in the swim up pools. Special thanks to Luis, who took amazing care of us. He kept us well fed and our drinks fresh. When we were in the beach, Alex, Elvis and Antonio took good care of us. Claudia at the beach concierge always greets us with a smile. I was pleased to see El Mar open for breakfast every day. It's one of my favorite parts of Beloved. The food remained consistently delicious and the staff was attentive and kind. Christian checked on us each day, keeping track of the details so we could keep a drink in our hand. Congrats on the promotion Christian, it was well deserved. Trip #5 is already booked. I can't wait to go back.

Beloved - for those of us who really want to RELAX!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The perfect resort for couples who want a quiet and relaxing, yet casual luxury getaway in the Riviera Maya. The staff is flawless and friendly, the food is delicious, and the resort is gorgeous. We stayed 1 night in the penthouse suite and it was jaw dropping. Only downside is the distance from attractions like Tulum, cenotes, and Cancun. It gets very expensive (and kind of dangerous) if you leave the resort. Why would you want to when you already paid for paradise?

Good, but not worth price

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Just returned from 5 days at the Beloved. My husband and I decided to splurge and treat ourselves stay at one of the pricey resorts. We had a really nice stay, but not really sure it was worth the price. We stayed in a beachfront casita with private pool. It was awsome! Steps from the beach. When enjoying the pool the service is amazing. They bring you cocktails and food right to your terrace. That room and service was the best part. For breakfast we ordered room service every morning. Had breakfast on our terrace looking at the view. The room service at the property is very good for breakfast and lunch. Not so much for dinner. We brought a half case of wine and were allowed to drink it in the restaurants which was nice. The spa is wonderful! Spent a lot of time there. It was very pricey, even with their so called discounts. They also have a very well equipped gym. Love it. The staff is very, very friendly and accommodating. The beach is beautiful white sand, but not very swimmable. But take advantage of the free Hobicat catamaran. The guide took us out to the beautiful clear blue water and we swam, saw a sea turtle! One day he took us out to the shipwreck. It was so cool. Where the resort falls short and this is why I didn't give it a 5 star rating is, for the price, they do not have very many beach chairs and lounge chairs around the pool bar. A couple of times mostly on the weekends, we got to the beach everything was taken. They have a beach conchier, but he said we had to be on a waiting list!!!! We were stunned and very upsett. This place boasts on not being crowded, but good luck getting a chair on the beach or by the pool bar. VERY disappointing. We have never been to a resort and couldn't get a chair on the beach. At the prices this place charges, it was inexcusable. The other thing is if you want to eat at El Mar, get there early or you will be put on a waiting list there too. It is their most popular. Overall the food is good, but not gourmet. It is hit and miss on the service in the restaurants. We ate in the steakhouse and the service was horrible! El Mar was good. Another time we had a server for lunch that messed up everthing. Definitely not up to the standard of the price of this resort. Do definitely try the taco truck. That guy is a rock star. Overall, a very nice stay, relaxing and rested. But this resort in our eyes does not justify the very high price they charge for staying there.

Please do yourself a favor and go to this resort! I had the most beautiful time with my partner in January. The wait staff was incredibly nice and greeted us with a smile and a yes to every request. We had the opportunity to go to Tulum, and the Xel-Ha, parasailing and jet skiing, we ate the most fantastic meals on a beach bed right next to the water. It was the easiest and most pleasant vacation and gave true meaning to the word luxury. It was not pretentious and the guest coordinator (and every single one of the waitstaff!!) made sure we were having fun every step of the way.
