The Heathman Hotel Portland is one of only 30 hotels in the world to enjoy a four-diamond rating for 27 consecutive years. And that’s not the only reason why a stay here is memorable. Bright, eclectic rooms compliment an art collection that includes Henk Pender and Andy Warhol, and a cozy lending library stocks signed editions by authors who have stayed there – more than 2,500 titles to date, all available to be delivered to your bedside. A recent landfill-free “green” renovation makes this pet-friendly hotel one of the best environmental options in Portland.

IF you are going to stay in hotel in Downtown Portland, especially if you are solo traveler. This is this hotel to stay at. It's quaint and has a peaceful ambiance that will distance you from the hustle and smelly bustle of the down town area.

What a great stay at The Heathman! A wonderful hotel in a great area of Portland. The recent renovation to the hotel has brought a modern spin to this historic property, while maintaining all the storied charm and appeal. I'll definitely be staying here next time I return to Portland.

We hosted a room block of 13 people for a college graduation weekend, including the Presidential Suite, so that we could have a place for all guests to be together. I made the right choice choosing the Heathman. The hotel was beautiful, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the location was near good restaurants and activities. The suite was large enough to comfortably seat all our guests. I highly recommend the Heathman.

I went with 5 stars not necessarily because this hotel offers a 5 star level of luxury but because of its value, history and location. Who among us had paid close to $200 these days for a sterile hotel room off an interstate highway? I paid $146/nt to stay in the very heart of downtown Portland in a historic hotel with charm and character. Sure, the rooms are dated but they are quite spacious by today’s standard and immaculately clean. The common space includes the grand ‘library’.l with towering ceiling, Beautiful architecture with lots of tables available for conversation or work or enjoying tea service. The location is two blocks from our cultural center (the Schnitzer), Fantastic restaurants, and shopping. No need for a car in Portland. And for those of you to frighten to visit our hellhole of a city 😏, It’s OK if you give Portland a pass. It just means less tourist crowds for those of you who recognize this gem of a large town/small city.

Just a genuinely friendly and warm experience staying there, most notably due to staff who are willing to engage on a human level with guests. How refreshing. Centrally located and very convenient, so very reasonably priced, considering. Would love to have taken advantage of the complementary bike hires to visit the Japanese Gardens but unfortunately didn't have time.
