The Heathman Hotel, Portland in Portland, Oregon
The Heathman Hotel Portland is one of only 30 hotels in the world to enjoy a four-diamond rating for 27 consecutive years. And that’s not the only reason why a stay here is memorable. Bright, eclectic rooms compliment an art collection that includes Henk Pender and Andy Warhol, and a cozy lending library stocks signed editions by authors who have stayed there – more than 2,500 titles to date, all available to be delivered to your bedside. A recent landfill-free “green” renovation makes this pet-friendly hotel one of the best environmental options in Portland.
Explore the Pearl District, stopping to shop in local boutiques and bookstores. Take a midday yoga class. Unwind further with a craft microbrew. Back at the hotel, listen to live jazz next to the fireplace in the hotel’s original eucalyptus-paneled Tea Court Lounge. Sample Kumamoto oysters followed by a leg of bacon-wrapped venison, or opt for a creative vegan tasting menu.

Reviews for The Heathman Hotel, Portland
Came here for our anniversary. The staff was very nice and helpful. They gave us a newly renovated room on the top floor. When getting off the elevator we could already smell fumes and the room was even worse. Probably from new paint. When I woke up in the morning my eyes were all puffy and I had itchy hives all over my body. I find it incredibly irresponsible of the hotel to allow anyone to stay in these rooms that still have high concentrations of VOCs. I told the front desk about it and they said they would have someone take a look, but they took no action to make this right with me. I would never stay here again.

Friendly staff. Nice room. The hotel has a great character and feel to it. The room was comfortable and clean. Great location and within easy walking distance of everything downtown has to offer -Powell's Books, brew pubs, restaurants, theatre. The best part of the hotel, however, was the staff. They were awesome!

Fairmont is a venerable old property in a great location. New owners are remodeling the rooms which are long overdo. The staff work really hard to lift the experience up from OK to Excellent. Bar and Restaurant are nice! Parking rate of $46 per night for parking seems stiff, but they do offer a package where parking is only 50% of that. I will be back if only to experience the new rooms.

We spent 4 days/3 nights at The Heathman. It was lovely. We arrived earlier than expected and we were able to check in to our room. The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating with any requests we had. We would return to The Heathman whenever we visit Portland.
Having stayed at the Heathman during previous weekend visits to the city, we booked a room for New Year's Eve based on positive past experiences and its centralized location for the activities we had planned. Unfortunately, this most recent visit did not measure up. Understanding how busy the hotel was during this time I am willing to overlook certain things. However, it appears housekeeping was not up to the challenge during this visit. In our room (#414), the bathroom fixtures, i.e., door, sink area, mirror, etc. were extremely dusty, the room fixtures, i.e., baseboards, end tables & lamps were dusty, and you could have written your name on some of the tables in the hallway on the 4th floor. Being an older hotel and somewhat dated is one thing, but being clean is something totally different. Unfortunately, this particular visit was just not up to Heathman standards
