The Heathman Hotel Portland is one of only 30 hotels in the world to enjoy a four-diamond rating for 27 consecutive years. And that’s not the only reason why a stay here is memorable. Bright, eclectic rooms compliment an art collection that includes Henk Pender and Andy Warhol, and a cozy lending library stocks signed editions by authors who have stayed there – more than 2,500 titles to date, all available to be delivered to your bedside. A recent landfill-free “green” renovation makes this pet-friendly hotel one of the best environmental options in Portland.

Unwelcoming. Small scratchy towels. Housekeeping had to be requested but when they came they didn't make the bed. Emailed 12 hours in advance to ask for a late salad plate for planned late arrival, but email wasn't read or responded to then or in the subsequent three days. Booked a suite - the divider door was broken - hanging from hinges - and didn't close. Sofa was also noticeably damaged. Staff were disinterested.

Highly recommend the Heathman for visits to Portland, We often plan our trips to the Oregon Symphony, Literary Arts Book Festival, Art Museum and Winter Lights, etc. around a stay at The Heathman io include time in the Heathman Library and conversation with the parking valets who are the most delightful ambassadors one could find for a great city.

First time staying here, chosen due to proximity to the Arlene Schnitzer Hall..... literally steps away! Perfection all around. While we did wander the downtown a bit, we really had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Had both dinner and breakfast at The Tavern, both were quite good. The location was perfect.

There were a couple of observations that I stared in their review email but on the whole a very nice stay. The associates were all very nice and helpful.

You cannot beat the location - it is walking distance to everything and right next to the Oregon Symphony and there are so many restaurants and cafes and shopping places right there, plus easy walking to the riverfront. The rooms are clean and big and the dining is superb.
