The Heathman Hotel Portland is one of only 30 hotels in the world to enjoy a four-diamond rating for 27 consecutive years. And that’s not the only reason why a stay here is memorable. Bright, eclectic rooms compliment an art collection that includes Henk Pender and Andy Warhol, and a cozy lending library stocks signed editions by authors who have stayed there – more than 2,500 titles to date, all available to be delivered to your bedside. A recent landfill-free “green” renovation makes this pet-friendly hotel one of the best environmental options in Portland.

The Heathman is a brand I have grown to trust for its upscale, classic and sophisticated. The Portland Heathman followed suit. The lobby is small but there is a nice “bookcase” lounge area for guests to work or enjoy. Standard Room was nicely appointed but small. Bathroom was small as well but the decor and materials were updated and upscale. Shower was great and the bed was very comfortable. The front lobby door locks after 11pm so you’ll need your key to enter late. I found street parking in front of the hotel just had to move by 8am. The breakfast sandwich in the resturant was very good. Would stay again.

Excellent hotel. Conviniently located next to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Loved using the bicycles offered with the stay.

This is a gorgeous hotel. I stayed in a king corner suite and it was divine, bright, and airy. The design is classic. The service was great and the food was delicious. Highly recommend and look forward to returning soon. The location was a plus near restaurants, shopping, and a quick skip down to the waterfront running trail.

Overall a good experience. I booked my stay to attend the Portland Book Festival. I was disappointed the hotel library was under construction during my stay, as that was part of the reason I booked here. I was able to use a promotional offer the hotel had for my booking, but once at the hotel there seemed to be a lot of confusion about the exact discounts that included. For example, it included a $25 dining credit and online that is all it stated. Upon arrival, the hotel lobby worker stated that the credit was per day during your stay. I was staying Friday- Sunday (this promo included late checkout 2pm). My understanding was it would be $25 credit per day Friday, Sat, Sun. I tried clarifying many times, but was pushed back and forth between the hotel staff and the restaurant staff with no one knowing anything about it. Finally I spoke to the two hotel workers who did assisted me upon arrival and they confirmed it was per day. However, at checkout, one of these two workers helped me and apparently the way the computer charged it, the credit was only per night (so two nights). Just seems a bit confusing for all of us and it would be helpful to just have the discount/promo offers clearly stated on the check in paperwork, so we are all on the same page. Otherwise had a decent experience here.
