The Heathman Hotel, Portland in Portland, Oregon

The Heathman Hotel Portland is one of only 30 hotels in the world to enjoy a four-diamond rating for 27 consecutive years. And that’s not the only reason why a stay here is memorable. Bright, eclectic rooms compliment an art collection that includes Henk Pender and Andy Warhol, and a cozy lending library stocks signed editions by authors who have stayed there – more than 2,500 titles to date, all available to be delivered to your bedside. A recent landfill-free “green” renovation makes this pet-friendly hotel one of the best environmental options in Portland.

Explore the Pearl District, stopping to shop in local boutiques and bookstores. Take a midday yoga class. Unwind further with a craft microbrew. Back at the hotel, listen to live jazz next to the fireplace in the hotel’s original eucalyptus-paneled Tea Court Lounge. Sample Kumamoto oysters followed by a leg of bacon-wrapped venison, or opt for a creative vegan tasting menu.

We had a great time at the Heathman Hotel which is a truly historic venue, with excellent location in downtown Portland, especially close to performing theatres, art museums and historical society museums and it had a real buzz to it.

watch out for that facilities fee of $24 per day. either i missed it or it was not explicitly laid out to me. the rooms are nice clean and comfortable. water pressure is great and the staff is friendly.

Stayed here with my husband. We checked in really late so they probably gave us a bad room. The decoration and room was really plain and something I would expect at a holiday inn express. Valet is 75? Not worth the price. The location doesn't make up for it either.

Shariton Waikiki nice room with lovely balcony view Good amenities but swimming pools too shallow for laps. Great weather and definitely suggest the catamaran ride. Breakfast and meals at the outdoor bar complimented by the water and view. GOOD bar service.

I would absolutely give this beautiful atmospheric hotel 4 stars. The check in service was amazing, the room fabulous and wonderfully appointed. It was extremely comfortable for us. My 2 friends and I were here for a Girls Weekend and to see a show at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Perfect Hotel for that. My only issue is that you have to pay 44 bucks for valet parking and I assumed that met 'mostly secure'. I didn't have a problem with any of that until my car came back with a McCafe drink cup in the cup holder (that wasn't mine!) and two missing hubcaps. I called the hotel to let someone anyone know and was told management would return my call. So far -- no call back. Tsk. Other than that -- maybe skip the valet and find your own cheaper parking within walking distance- there are a few places- and maybe be less sad if your car comes back a few less hubcaps because you left it in less 'secure' parking. It was my naivety that assumed that 'valet' equaled 'secure'. I'd still stay at The Heathman. It's a gorgeous hotel and everything is within walking distance. I'm also gonna toss this out there Portland--> stayed many times in Seattle and my car has always come back with all its hubcaps ;)
