The Heathman Hotel, Portland in Portland, Oregon

The Heathman Hotel Portland is one of only 30 hotels in the world to enjoy a four-diamond rating for 27 consecutive years. And that’s not the only reason why a stay here is memorable. Bright, eclectic rooms compliment an art collection that includes Henk Pender and Andy Warhol, and a cozy lending library stocks signed editions by authors who have stayed there – more than 2,500 titles to date, all available to be delivered to your bedside. A recent landfill-free “green” renovation makes this pet-friendly hotel one of the best environmental options in Portland.

Explore the Pearl District, stopping to shop in local boutiques and bookstores. Take a midday yoga class. Unwind further with a craft microbrew. Back at the hotel, listen to live jazz next to the fireplace in the hotel’s original eucalyptus-paneled Tea Court Lounge. Sample Kumamoto oysters followed by a leg of bacon-wrapped venison, or opt for a creative vegan tasting menu.

Wonderful accommodations clean and very friendly staff. Loved the complimentary local beer upon arrival. Attention to detail in the too complete with information regarding the mural out our window. Only drawback was lighting in bathroom for applying make-up was not great even though there was a lighted make-up mirror there were a lot of shadows.

Here for a business trip and thoroughly enjoyed my stay - from the attentive staff to the awesome in-hotel restaurant, this hotel was lovely, accommodating and super-well-situated. This is a stay you will enjoy and look forward to again!

The Heathman is top notch! We stayed in a suite on the top floor facing the inner block, which made it especially quiet. The room was very nice. The staff was also exceptional, showing professionalism expected of a high-end hotel. More staff to help answer the phone, so as to not be sent to an answering machine would be an improvement that needs strong consideration by management. Thanks for a great stay!

The place has great word of mouth, which I can't entirely back up. Room was elegant and generous in size, but a bit worn on the edges. The public spaces have a an old-world wow factor, but seem rather unused. The restaurant by contrast is modern and buzzing all day, the service unfortunately chaotic and a bit aloof on both occasions I visited

This hotel is old world,as in the corridors smell of cinnamon, but the room was comfortable although small Great bed. There was an amenities fee which I was told covered the "free"internet and gym etc even if you did not use Like the proximity to the city and light rail which I would advise to use
