Our stay at The Nines was pleasant, but I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. Let me start with the positives: you really can't beat the location right in the heart of downtown Portland, and the staff we interacted with were friendly and welcoming. That being said, our stay didn't quite reflect the high luxury standard we were anticipating. When you book a top-tier hotel, you hope for a certain 'wow' factor and meticulous attention to detail, and unfortunately, we just didn't experience that this time around. It felt more like a standard upscale hotel rather than a true luxury destination. We enjoyed our time in the city, but for the premium price tag, we were hoping for a little more magic. We chose The Nines for a special getaway, hoping for a standout luxury experience. While the building has stunning architecture and the rooftop vibe is great, the actual stay didn't completely match the premium branding. Everything was perfectly fine, but in the world of luxury hospitality, you usually look for things to be exceptional. Some of the smaller details felt a bit overlooked, making it hard to justify the luxury price point.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Nines. Juan was extremely helpful and friendly. He even surprised us with a bottle of Rose and chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate our belated valentines weekend. It was such a sweet surprise to come back to and the perfect start to our evening. Thank you for everything Juan we greatly appreciate your service! -Gollo & Sydney

The staff was amazing. So friendly even in the cold weather :) we are planning on doing monthly mommy/daughter stays when we move up there from San Diego. Also Departure was a restaurant experience! A must try!

Everything from check-in to check-out was phenomenal. The staff were attentive and proactive in welcoming us as a Marriott Bonvoy member and delivered a handwritten note, balloons, a printed picture, and fresh cookies into the room. Cruz did an incredible job of making me feel welcomed, and appreciated. The AmEx FHR perks were incredible and this hotel delivered 5 stars!
