I loved staying at the Nines. They just get it right and it feels completely genuine. I guess that’s because it is. ALL of the staff are warm and helpful- there is a general vibe of contentment about the place. I felt pampered and at home. I loved the steakhouse, I pretty much didn’t eat anywhere else for breakfast or dinner. The food was delicious and service is great. Whenever anyone asked where I was staying they were quick to recommend the Urban Farmer as the best steak in town.

I brought my 17 year old son and 3 friends to Portland for the Lorde/Run the Jewels concert. (Yes, I got my own room) I’ve stayed at The Nines many times. We had particularly excellent service this trip and seeing it through the eyes of first time guests made it special. A couple of the boys kept saying it was the nicest/coolest hotel they’d ever been in. They were very fond of the Club Room. I had good food, drink and service at both restaurants. The sun was out so Departures deck was mobbed, still the best view in town. It seems like after a couple of years of less stellar service, The Nines has upped its game in both service and amenities. I’m headed back in a few weeks and looking forward to it, sans teens. I always avoided the interior rooms but the boys were in one that was roomy and nicely configured, frankly better than my exterior facing room. Tip: motion sensitive mini bars and 4 teen boys are a bad combo...particularly with a Pleasure Kit! 😬

The nines is absolutely the best hotel. The staff, the concierge, the food and the room amenities were impeccable. I cannot emphasize enough on the professionalism of Patrick at the concierge. He was very helpful as to where to go and also when we checked out. The hotel is located in central downtown and walking distance to all restaurants and bars. We couldn't ask for a better location, staff and food....

For the quick read: if you are looking for a “WOW!” moment for a special occasion, choose the Nines. Beyond their tremendous atmosphere, the customer service will make the person of honor, feel the overwhelming special accommodations throughout their stay. It’s not always about the cover, it’s about what’s inside. For those who are putting a lot of thought into a special trip: it has been about a week since our trip and my mom and I haven’t stopped talking about our trip but more specifically, this hotel. I went to school near Portland and going into this trip, we weren’t sure what we were getting into, as this time we were tourists. Our experience, far exceeded our expectations. I have waited a week to leave a review because as my mom and I continuously talk about our trip we can’t pin point what made our experience at The Nines unforgettable; was it the luxurious club lounge experience or was it our concierge, Servando Cortez? Being in business myself, I think someone can make a product seem worth far more than it’s face value. This is exactly what Servando did. Don’t get me wrong. The hotel is beautiful but as I travel around the world, I would expect a hotel of such value to stand out. What made it stand out amongst many, was the treatment from Servando and staff. From the second we walked in the door, my mom felt it was her birthday. As I annoyingly expressed numerous times it was her birthday, he did not take this lightly. From club lounge treatment to a bottle of champagne waiting in our room with chocolate strawberries, this stay was one for the books.

Here on business so helpful to be downtown. About a 15 minute ride to the convention center and about 25 -30 minutes to airport depending on traffic and time of day. Uber drivers were easy to get from/to the location day or night. This is an SPG property so you can earn points. Lobby and check-in are on the 8th floor. Cool art and modern decor. My Uber driver strongly recommended restaurant although I didn’t have time to try. I checked in late and tired but front desk staff were cheerful and quick. My room was on the 8th floor and quiet, except for some city noise — which I like but may bother some. Room and bathroom were large and clean. Amenities were standard. Power outlet on bedside table lamp was helpful to keep cell phone nearby but no usb outlets anywhere. Solid service level, professional staff and convenient location. I wouldn’t call it a luxury hotel but it was quite nice.
