We've stayed here before but 11 years ago so were keen to visit again. We knew we enjoyed the place but only when we returned did we remember why, the views. Absolutely wonderful. Do be aware that this hotel has a short open period as it is undergoing major refurbishment. Open from June to the end of September this year and the next two I understand. However, if you are lucky enough to stay, the newly refurbished rooms are beautifully furnished. We were fortunate to stay in the Baronessa Suite. Fabulous rooms, beautiful décor, but the best part was that it's just a few steps from the pool via a private terrace. As you'd expect the food and service were exceptional and we cant wait to return!

Fantastic place charged with Italian spirit and lot of lux! So peaceful, just felt like in paradise! The staff was nice and helpful. Top cleanliness. I can recommend it to everyone who can afford the price.

My wife and I were looking forward to our three night stay at the world famous Splendido Hotel in Portofino. What a disappointment! I’ve stayed in better motels! The restaurant guests had to be evacuated during a rain storm and the music during dinner was worse than a Vegas lounge act. The food was equally bad. I think the pasta and sauce came from a can. Don’t be taken in by the Belmont hotel label. It doesn’t justify the $2200 per night room charge. Save your money and look for a better option.

We ate at the La Terrazza restaurant at this hotel. We had reservations and a taxi took us right to the door. I am honestly not used to this high end but I like it, a lot. The service, the food, and the views were all impeccable. We shared the agnolini stuffed with fish. It was, by far, the best dish we've eaten on this trip. We then each had a fish dish for the main course and a wonderful dessert. If you are prepared to treat yourselves, make reservations for lunch

The staff is world class. Everything else is downhill. Suite 485 IKEA style furniture with many dated items. Shower missing tiles Curtains that get the way of closing the door It’s a room that needs to be scraped and start over. Food So so sad - all that fresh fish goes to waste because the chef bakes / salts / sauces it too much. All the fish we ordered was undercooked or so over cooked it wasn’t edible. Limited fresh vegetables. It seems Belmond/LVMH can use a great location and excellent staff to milk the customers $$$$. Overpriced disappointment.
