Secret Bay

My husband and I planned a trip to celebrate our 15th anniversary and Secret Bay exceeded our expectations at every turn. We returned home refreshed, rejuvenated, re-connected, and not to sound too cheesy, but a little bit reformed. Secret Bay isn’t just a resort—it’s where luxury and nature live in harmony. It’s breathtaking, untamed beauty at its best, and feels like you discovered the best kept secret in the Caribbean. The Zabuco Honeymoon Villa felt like a private haven with panoramic ocean views, a plunge pool, and details crafted from local Dominican wood. The clifftop villas blend seamlessly with the rainforest, offering both breathtaking views and thoughtful design. I loved lounging in our plunge pool, gazing at the horizon and observing the many different personalities of the local inhabitants (lizards)! Modern comforts were paired with our villa host’s personalized touches—I really loved the local bath products (hand crafted in Dominica and in partnership with Secret Bay)! We spent our time well - packing amazing experiences and balancing with rest and relaxation. We kayaked to hidden beaches, snorkeled vibrant reefs with Donna (who guided us through observing fish and explaining the ecosystem), and cruised the Indian River with Fire, whose storytelling made the mangroves come alive. Each experience felt intimate, authentic, and unforgettable. What sets Secret Bay apart is its people. Warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring, the team made us feel less like guests and more like family. We appreciated the support from our sweet villa host and the gracious concierge team, and enjoyed having cocktails with the management team! We were touched and genuinely surprised by the many special efforts the whole staff put towards celebrating our anniversary. Secret Bay is more than a destination—it’s a philosophy of belonging. Here, privacy means connection, indulgence feels purposeful, and every moment is designed to help you rediscover what matters most. We’ve been home a week and already planning to return in a few months.

I'm writing this review five months after our visit so may forget some details, but this was an absolutely memorable stay and I'd highly recommend you go to Secret Bay!! The service is incredibly friendly and helpful. Top notch and on par with any of the great hotels and well-known brands that are known for a high service standard. Our villa was beautiful, comfortable and well-appointed. Plunge pool, screened in patio, grill, really good kitchen, 2 bathrooms. The food was fantastic. Was a tad slow at times but no big deal. We did the bonfire beach dinner one night and that was magic. The island of Dominica is beautiful. We did a couple of excursions off-site, including the birding with Dr. Birdy which was great, and the chocolate factory tour along with a visit to Batibou Beach, which was incredibly gorgeous. Secret Bay please don't ever change! You have something truly special.

We recently celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary at Secret Bay and it was truly the trip of a lifetime. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like a family - warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making every moment special. The villa, Zabuco III was incredible. It was immaculate, peaceful, and private with breathtaking sunrises and a plunge pool that made every morning special. The food was incredible, fresh, local, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. We felt completely at ease the entire stay. Secret Bay isn't just a beautiful place - it's an experience. The service, the privacy, the natural beauty is unmatched. From our villa host, Francesca (who was so amazing, and even left special treats for us each night and made our anniversary extra special), to the golf cart attendants, to the General Manager, Craig, and Almer, Johnny, Jacob, everyone at concierge, reservations, all were all truly happy wonderful people to meet who goes above and beyond! We even left a bag of souvenir's after we returned home, Bernisha with concierge helped us find it and was so kind to ship it back to us in the U.S.! This is the place to celebrate something special or simply recharge in total luxury - Secret Bay is perfection. We can't wait to return!! Thank you for making our trip so memorable!

My wife and I recently travelled to Dominica and stayed at Secret Bay for a week in July 2025 (Clifftop Zabuco I). I've been eyeing this resort for some time (almost two years), but hadn't had the opportunity to visit until this year. The resort, was amazing, food was great (especially the fine dining experience). The staff were friendly and always ready to help you out. If you are into adventures, there is plenty of stuff to do which the staff will coordinate and you will not have to worry about anything. Scuba diving there was amazing. If you choose to simply enjoy your room with pool, and enjoy the sunsets, you will be rewarded as well. Great place for couples to relax, unwind and enjoy nature.
