Secret Bay

From start to finish, the immersion into the Secret Bay ethos was an exceptional experience. A place and pace where you can just 'be'.

Secret Bay is a beautiful hotel located on some of the most desirable and prime land in Picard, DA. The staff is wonderful and makes the experience pleasurable. Unfortunately, the stay was quite disappointing as the food was TERRIBLE, uninspired, lacked flavor, and does not reflect local Dominican cuisine or that of the surrounding Caribbean countries. The presentation was also often childlike. There is little value particularly given the exorbitant prices that are being charged. Given the Relais and Chateau status, this needs immediate remedy if the hotel is to maintain this designation.

My Husband and I went to Secret Bay for a week in October. It was perfect. Just what we needed to relax away from a busy season. The remoteness and tranquility was perfect. The private villas are great, each with their own plunge pool. We sat by the pool and pool bar for lunches and afternoon drinks. The beach is secluded and a great temperature for swimming - or go over to the secret beach which is only accessible by boat. The food was outstanding - we did the all inclusive lunches and dinners. On top of the included breakfast, we ate our way through the vacation. So much fresh seafood and tropical local fruits. The staff are so attentive, kind, and friendly. Each villa comes with a host who handles any needs you may have. We went on a great boat tour of the island with Secret Bay's captain, complete with snorkeling. It was a great way to see the island from the sea. The way Secret Bay is built into nature is awesome. Iguanas, lizards, and birds are at every turn, and the flora is unlike anything I've seen. Super grateful for the amazing trip at Secret Bay - we will cherish the memories forever.

I was hugely excited to visit Secret Bay having seen the photos on-line and spoken to others that had been. I arrived with high expectations and left with them having been met! The check in was effortless and smooth and I was shown my villa by Francesca and she was on hand throughout my stay for anything I needed. I spent 2 wonderful days relaxing, catching up on sleep and eating like a king! I spent time chatting to other guests and everyone of then was having as good a time as I. The food was simply superb and I could not find fault! I didn't use the Spa. I will return for sure, this time with my wife.

My husband and I planned a trip to celebrate our 15th anniversary and Secret Bay exceeded our expectations at every turn. We returned home refreshed, rejuvenated, re-connected, and not to sound too cheesy, but a little bit reformed. Secret Bay isn’t just a resort—it’s where luxury and nature live in harmony. It’s breathtaking, untamed beauty at its best, and feels like you discovered the best kept secret in the Caribbean. The Zabuco Honeymoon Villa felt like a private haven with panoramic ocean views, a plunge pool, and details crafted from local Dominican wood. The clifftop villas blend seamlessly with the rainforest, offering both breathtaking views and thoughtful design. I loved lounging in our plunge pool, gazing at the horizon and observing the many different personalities of the local inhabitants (lizards)! Modern comforts were paired with our villa host’s personalized touches—I really loved the local bath products (hand crafted in Dominica and in partnership with Secret Bay)! We spent our time well - packing amazing experiences and balancing with rest and relaxation. We kayaked to hidden beaches, snorkeled vibrant reefs with Donna (who guided us through observing fish and explaining the ecosystem), and cruised the Indian River with Fire, whose storytelling made the mangroves come alive. Each experience felt intimate, authentic, and unforgettable. What sets Secret Bay apart is its people. Warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring, the team made us feel less like guests and more like family. We appreciated the support from our sweet villa host and the gracious concierge team, and enjoyed having cocktails with the management team! We were touched and genuinely surprised by the many special efforts the whole staff put towards celebrating our anniversary. Secret Bay is more than a destination—it’s a philosophy of belonging. Here, privacy means connection, indulgence feels purposeful, and every moment is designed to help you rediscover what matters most. We’ve been home a week and already planning to return in a few months.
