Reviews for Secret Bay

Gregor and his amazing staff made this one of the most wonderful holiday experiences I have ever had.

I’m lost for words! The resort itself and the kindness and courtesy of Gregor and his staff made this an unforgettable experience! It is a place unlike anywhere I have ever visited before and the only word I can find to describe it is “magical”! Thank you, Gregor! I am very conscious that our visit coincided with a very painful moment for you and your family with the loss of your father. It was a privilege to meet you and to hear something of the story of how Secret Bay came to be. You will be in my thoughts and prayers and especially this coming Saturday as you and your family lay your father rest. Fahmi, Omaris and myself are forever indebted to you for your kindness. Please thank your amazing staff for their kindness. They are a Dream Team!!

Beautiful Resort surrounded by Nature

The airport was small had to go down stairs of plane to get to customs. Secret Bay our destination was about an hour away from the airport. We went through many small towns through winding roads. It was sad to see so much poverty. Our chauffeur told us they were hit by a hurricane that devastated some parts of the Island. This island consists of rainforests, waterfalls and very small rocky beaches. We reach our destination Secret Bay, beautiful and lush landscape and private Villas over looking Guadalupe and Martinique. Each Villa has a private entrance, exit, warm water pool, 2 outdoor showers, a full kitchen, living room, terrace, 2 full bathrooms, one downstairs and another upstairs, very ample bedroom with desk and a full closet. We were greeted by their wonderful and caring staff. We had our own hostess, her name was Keldon. She was super attentive, would come every morning to our villa and prepared delicious breakfasts and set up on our terrace every single morning. She cleaned our room twice a day and brought anything we needed and took care of all of our needs. The gym was outdoors very small and had to use lots of repellent to keep mosquitoes away. We did report and they took care of it and there were less of them. Zing Zing their signature restaurant was open for dinner only and the cuisine was to absolutely delicious. The dinner consisted of 5 courses, each one beautifully prepared and delicious. The Chef, originally from France, is a true artist in the kitchen. He goes to market every day and then plans out dinner based on what is available that day. The last night, my husband and I had a sunset dinner on a terrace overlooking the Caribbean. It was a beautiful end to a great vacation.

Amazing Resort

This resort is incredible! I went with 4 friends to celebrate our 35 years of friendship. We stayed in 2 villas. Cliffside Zabuco II and Ti-Fey I. Each villa has its own infinity pool with amazing views of the ocean, the bay and Fort Shirley in the distance. The villas are all very private and quiet. We enjoyed dinner at Zing Zing Restaurant, and spent time at the lap pool and pool bar. Would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful eco-friendly resort.

One of the most beautiful (and Do-able) trip of my life!

This is truly a 6-star resort! We were invited to Secret Bay to look at their access for wheelchair users and were pleasantly surprised! After being warmly welcomed by staff at the welcome center, and receiving our iPhone for the stay (to stay in contact with staff and our villa host), we loaded into golf carts and headed up the hill. We checked into a 2-bedroom Zabuco Villa on the clifftop, rolled up the ramp to the lower deck and private infinity pool and straight to the elevator! Once upstairs, the open floor plan and wide doorways made it easy to get around. And the 360 degree views! OMG! We ate at the poolside restaurant the first night, Zing Zing and it was of course outstanding. Obligatory food pic attached. And the other super cool feature at Secret Bay is the wheelchair accessible funicular that happens to be the longest of its kind in the Caribbean. Our Villa Host Tashi, was absolutely adorable and took such wonderful care of us. She cooked us a breakfast each morning in our villa, complete with fresh local coffee and fresh squeezed passionfruit juice. Cooking, cleaning, laundry all taken care of upon request! I am told that she can be requested. Our drivers, Ryan & Tyron were also fantastic. They drove us all over the island to see the sights. Make sure you try to get to the Chocolate Factory when you go! And Kharlen, our photographer is responsible for many the amazing shots attached here. And finally our hosts from GEMS, Gregor (& Sandra) and Ryan. They were all so gracious and kind and we cannot wait to return! NOTE: I am a T-12 paraplegic and a full-time wheelchair user. I am also an adventure and travel addict and not your average wheelchair user. While this Island would not be considered accessible by American standards, there are a lot of things about the island that are "do-able." Please feel free to contact me if you want to go but you are unsure if it is for you. I promise, it is worth it!
