Il San Pietro is the only hotel in Positano with direct access to a private beach. The beach is a natural cove surrounded by crystal clear waters, with a solarium, restaurant and bar by the sea. An elevator carved into the cliff will swiftly carry you from the lobby down to this special, heavely spot. Every room offers a private dream: a terrace with a view over the sea, furnished with a table, chairs and comfortable sun beds. Two culinary souls, one closer to the sky, the other one laid on the sea. A unique taste experience: our restaurants will fill your eyes and delight your palate.
Relaxing is the most precious luxury, a rare moment to cherish. The spa at Il San Pietro is a must for taking care of your body and mind. Other amenities include a tennis court and swimming pool both with extraordinary views.

Reviews for Il San Pietro di Positano
The hotel is built into a cliff...as many hotels are on the Amalfi Coast. This is part of the Relais and Chateaux group and is first class all the way. The rooms are beautiful (not huge though) and overlook the coast. The decor is lovely. The service wonderful, breakfast setting excellent, lobby beautiful. The outdoor areas are a destination unto themselves. When we arrived our room weren’t ready so they gave us drinks on the patio of the hotel which was a highlight on our arrival. I would usually prefer to stay at a hotel right in town (ie Postiano). However ..this was an oasis away from a crowded touristy town. They provide a shuttle service to town which worked well. There is a pool area which was nice and a small beach area which you take an elevator down to the area which was built into the cliff. I highly recommend this gorgeous hotel.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon in September 2017 (our review is a little late). Simply put, I cannot imagine a better hotel or resort anywhere on Earth. The service, grounds, location, and room were all perfect. It is absolutely worth the price. The shuttle was very reliable. It is very easy to get into the heart of Positano, but you are just sufficiently removed to escape the crowds and have a sense of privacy. The breakfast was outstanding as well. I can't say enough about this hotel. We'll be back!

When we told friends that we were planning to visit the Amalfi Coast there was a near unanimous "You MUST stay at Il San Pietro in Positano. Finding reservations were not available, we changed our dates by several months just to stay here. Surprise...it was everything alleged and then some! The location, perched on the hillside overlooking the bay, was fantastic. The reception, rooms and public spaces were outstanding. The personnel, on the hilltop, lobby, restaurants & at the pool or beach were universally friendly but not unctuous. The outstanding restaurant is not a bargain (...nor is the hotel!) but, again, delivers! Not to be missed!

The photos of this property do not do it justice. Stayed for 2 nights in late October with a friend in the Deluxe room. It was comfortable and spacious with our own balcony. The staff pay excellent attention to detail and the property itself reflects this - the front desk welcomed any questions and you can also purchase tickets from them for the bus to Amalfi / Ravello etc. One of the many amazing things of this hotel is that the bus stops right outside the property. While it is quite a walk from the city centre, the hotel also offers free shuttle service to the city centre which is about 10-15 minutes away by shuttle and probably a 30 minute or so walk. They welcome you with their signature bellinis and leave you with their in-house limoncello! I also used the gym (a necessity after all that pizza, wine and gelato!) and the hotel gym views are spectacular - best treadmill run ever! There is also a lift that takes you straight to the private beach where you can either feast at Carlino's (the grilled mozzarella wrapped in lemon leaves is a must!) or sip their signature bellinis by the waterside. We also dined at their Michelin-starred restaurant, Zass where I had the lobster in lemon pasta which was delicious. If you want to skip dining there, breakfast is also served in the same restaurant so you can enjoy spectacular views then. They also have adopted rescue dogs so you will see them roaming the property - which just adds to the whole appeal of this place. Stunning views in the lobby and deck area of Positano and the Meditteranean where you can enjoy the sunset and a drink. Sure, your bank balance will be lighter after your stay here but so will your soul & you can't put a price on that. I'll be back - gracias mille, Il San Pietro!

This was a big trip for us (10th anniversary) and we chose to revisit Il San Pietro di Positano, having stayed there on our honeymoon and experienced utter bliss. Our expectations were very high going in, and yet this amazing hotel and staff still managed to exceed. I find that in life very few things live up to expectations built up in one's mind over many years - so this experience was truly remarkable. The majestic setting and grounds were every bit as amazing as we remembered and speak for themselves, so I think it most important to comment on the service and overall experience. The entire staff is exceptional - everyone is friendly, knowledgable and went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. There is a genuine charm to the property and staff that is truly unique. I've been to many luxury properties, but this place is just different, it is the definition of hospitality. We found ourselves in a perpetual state of serene happiness, whether strolling through the classic lobby, enjoying a drink on the magnificent terrace, enjoying a swim from the private beach or wandering through the terraced gardens, it is all just amazing and frankly made it hard to leave the property. Wine and food are very important to us, and dining at Zass was an absolute pleasure. Tremendous wine program, excellent service and we loved the range of food enjoyed over the trip. Don't miss the Spaghetti Positano, there are plenty of more elaborate dishes with fancier ingredients (and they are great), but this "simple" pasta as they described it is still haunting my dreams 6 weeks later. The hotel and setting are obviously spectacular, but combined with this level of exceptional and genuine service it truly differentiates Il San Pietro di Positano, making it in my humble opinion the finest hotel in the world.
