Augustine, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Prague in Prague, Czech Republic

Occupying seven buildings of a 13th century monastery and brewery, which was formerly home to the friars of the Order of Saint Augustine, Augustine, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Prague is located in Prague's posh Mal Strana district. Monuments synonymous with the Golden City such as the Charles Bridge spanning the Vlatava River, Prague Castle and immaculately landscaped Wallenstein Gardens are within easy walking distance. Recently restored with great care and attention to detail, the hotel's simple elegance is reflected in the design of the 85 sleek guest rooms. Inspired by early 20th century Cubism, interiors are furnished in contemporary European style with views of quaint courtyards or the historic chapel and Prague Castle. Amenities include high-speed Internet, flat-screen televisions, and individually controlled air conditioning. Bathrooms are clad in opulent marble with heated floors, steam-resistant mirrors and complimentary organic personal care products.

The heart of The Augustine is its tranquil spa offering a Finnish sauna, Turkish Hammam, two experience showers and a serene relaxation room. Rejuvenating treatments are based on traditional holistic healing principles. The spa's signature St. Thomas Body Ritual makes use of an ancient monk's secret recipe aiding detoxification and hydration. Physical fitness fiends also have a state-of-the art fitness center at their disposal along with yoga sessions, Pilates classes, and personal trainers on call. Dining at Augustine, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Prague is a sophisticated affair. Augustine Restaurant reveals a refined interior and intimate outdoor dining space for those balmy nights. In this unfrilly setting, the food takes center stage. Chef Robert Loos creates a well-rounded selection of delectable dishes plucked from Old World cookbooks and adds twists like truffle sauce to poached lobster or pumpkin hummus mille feuille to pan-fried scallops. Next door at 1887 Bar, expert mixed drink artists construct elaborate potent potables from fresh ingredients. Set in the old monastery refectory under a vaulted high ceiling embellished with splendid baroque frescoes, try angelically named libations like the Gabriel made with top-shelf Havana rum, Remy Martin and home-made Velvet Falernum. For a more ethereal experience, have a drink at the hotel's St. Thomas Brewery bar, featuring age-old stalactites, stalagmites and a floating terracotta floor. No matter where you find yourself at Augustine, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Prague your surroundings are enchantingly steeped in centuries of history.

The location was perfect. The accommodations, grounds, service, attention to detail was so wonderful, it was as great as the City itself. The concierge was so helpful, everything we wanted to do or see was arranged with the best local guides. The General Manager Mario Egger acted as if the Augustine was his home and we were the most special guests. The food was the best I had in the City. Great hotel restaurant.

I loved his hotel. It is located in the Mala Strana district of Prague, just a five minute walk to the Charles Bridge. The hotel used to be a monastery and was separate buildings that are now joined together. The decor of the General areas as well as the rooms are beautiful and elegant. The dining room is beautiful as is the lounge. the Refectory Lounge was the Refectory when it was the monastery and still has the fresco on the ceiling. make sure and try the St. Thomas Beer which is a recipe used by the monks for centuries. But what really makes The Augustine special are the people who work there. I think the desk clerk was named Jana and she was a delight from the get go. She was not only nice but her recommendations were spot on. But she is not the only one like that, the doorman, those who work in the restaurant and bar were also extremely nice and friendly. The breakfast buffet is delicious. The traffic on the cobblestone street was a little annoying but I was so tired each night from walking the streets of beautiful Prague that I hardly noticed it. I definitely would stay again.

12.9.17 Check in went a little rough but the staff finally fixed its own errors which is a plus. That however should not be required and the front desk should be retrained to handle every guest requirement flawlessly especially when they are Lifetime Platinum VIPs. A superstar is Sabrina in the breakfast area she should get a raise and be promoted to a supervisor type staff member. the Doctor Hit me with some LOVE ❤️💕 and a helpful VOTE! Check in 4/5 Food 4.25/5 Head chef the items at breakfast take too long to come out after ordering, 20 minutes on poached eggs is an absurd amount of time. Sabrina 5/5 a superstar server. Staff Demeanor: most All have a look like they are having no fun 3/5 Valet Guys: 5/5 at entry they were great they hustled and smiled and were conversational and helpful Overall 4/5 could be 5/5 but lots of work to do. This HOTEL is a tossup to stay at GM needs to address the issues. the Doctor Hit me with some LOVE ❤️💕 and a helpful VOTE!

I have visited Prague in 2015 & recently in December 2017 to celebrate a partner's birthday & the hotel starting with the front desk to the restaurant, room service, Spa up to the housekeeping did really guarantee an amazing STAY! And, also ensuring that the main surprise of booking an additional room for the partner's sister took place perfectly! Which makes me sure that I'll definitely stay there again! I also want to specifically thank Tereza SPRINGLOVA who was beyond helpful in our check-in & check-out process!

I was able to travel to Prague with my husband on his business trip. It was such a memorable experience. The Augustine was top notch! Our room was outstanding! The ceilings were so high - not what I was expecting in a European hotel!! The bathroom had heated floors which was a treat each morning. The staff was amazing! The were all beyond helpful and always so friendly. Our room had breakfast each morning in the hotel restaurant. The offerings were wonderful. It was a great way to start each morning - a great variety of food available on the buffet and you could order off a menu if so desired. We also took advantage of the spa! So relaxing and enjoyable!! We will definitely be back to this wonderful hotel!
