Well located for the major sights of Prague. Just a short walk (20 minutes). Beautiful hotel, well maintained and everything you hope for in a 5 star hotel. The spa was quiet and spacious. I would certainly return.

We booked 4 nights in one of the 4th floor petit suites in August. I was enchanted by the facade; lobby; and Courboisier art as soon as we entered at 6pm but when we got to our room my 7-year old's squeals of delight had us completely won over. A child dressing gown; slippers; toys; chocolates; AND an Indiana Jones duvet cover and pillow on his chair bed awaited him. Our stay was wonderful. Breakfast daily is plentiful and high-quality. My son's poached eggs and pancake order always came hot and promptly. The music room-cum-library is very inviting and allowing guests to play the piano is wonderful. We were entertained by one of the (Russian?) guests playing Bollywood one morning and my son tried his hand once. The beds are comfortable. The aircon works. The bathroom is large and well appointed. Like many other posters we enjoyed leaving the hustle and bustle of Old Town and Malastrana daily and coming home to our peaceful haven. We used the trams extensively (defi uy the 72-hour pass; very cost-effective) - it's a mode of transport we all love. But we did also Uber and it was less than US$10 to anywhere we had to go. I'd defi be back. Be aware - there is no 24-hour room service and even the staff on duty is skeletal late evenings. It did not bother us but if you like to order food to your room on holidays or have loads of staff around this may not be the hotel for you. For us, the ambience; the art, the sculpture, the architecture; the views; the interiors; everything was perfect. If we go back to Prague we will defi return.

My family loved this hotel for many reasons. The customer service was stellar, the food of very high quality and the rooms comfortable. It's in a neighborhood about 3 kilometers from the Charles Bridge but we felt that was advantageous to get away from the crowds of the old city. Besides, the bus line #23 takes you within 100 meters of the hotel and the metro/subway and bus line #22 also close by. I wholly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

I suppose I am a bit dissapointed to be honest - perhaps I was expecting too much. The hotel is fine, but it did not feel as special as I had hoped. For instance, the staff were cordial - but most never went out of their way to say hello as you past them in the corridor. We never received a "how was your stay" on leaving the hotel. Also, it would have been nice if the hotel had made a bit of a fuss of my girlfriend who celebrated her 30th birthday in the hotel - but there was no acknowledgement. The room was comfortable, but the view from room 417 was pretty awful. The only thing we had a view of was the balcony of a neighboring building which accumulated dog mess during the stay. Ah well. A upgrade was available, but at 80 euros a night additional - a bit steep for us. Breakfast was good on the whole, but please, please, can hotels remember that many vegetarians can't eat items that have touched meat. For instance, cheese and meat platters (and utensils) should always be separated with minimal risk of cross-contamination. It was good to see this was sorted once we'd raised the issue. Anyway, moan over, this hotel is fine - but not a super-special place. Le palais, please drop me a line if you want to chat around any of these points.
