Castle Hill Resort & Spa in Proctorsville, Vermont
Hidden away in the heart of Vermont's scenic Green Mountains is the elegant full-service Castle Hill Resort & Spa. Part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, this New England gem, located in lovely Ludlow, recaptures the gracious lifestyle of a bygone era. The estate, built at the turn of the 20th century, offers several styles of accommodations including rooms in the original mansion, as well as state-of-the-art resort-style homes. Guest rooms have varying appointments including decorative fireplaces, soothing whirlpool tubs, period furnishings and more. The freestanding homes are capsules of luxury offering complete privacy, multiple rooms and gourmet kitchens. On winter nights curl up in front of the fire, make a pot of bubbly fondue, or dim the lights and watch as snowflakes fall.
Dining at Castle Hill Resort and Spa is an experience all its own. The menu is a creation of French-influenced American cuisine offered at breakfast and dinner. The inn also boasts the only full-service spa in the region with a focus on fitness, wellness and mental restoration. Drape yourself across a massage table for a treatment that is likened to an out-of-body experience at this Aveda concept spa, where aromatherapy is also part of the philosophy. The region offers plenty of activities including skiing, sledding and snowshoeing during the winter, and golf, tennis, hiking and fly fishing dominating the warmer months. There are also outdoor concerts to enjoy, scenic gondola rides, leisurely drives through covered bridges, and plenty of shopping and gallery hopping too.

Reviews for Castle Hill Resort & Spa
My wife and I stayed here in the mansion overnight on June 25th, for a mini, one night away. It was a last minute, spur of the moment night away. Very nice place; very comfortable and welcoming. We were in room 11, top floor, king sized room with a king bed, fireplace, love seat, two armchairs and still plenty of room. The room was huge compared to other hotels. We did spend some time at the pool and spa and there's a nice fitness center that wasn't crowded at all. It was bigger than I've seen at other hotels / spas so that was nice. The only negative, which was due to a personal injury, was the three flights of stairs needed to be climbed to get to the top floor. This is not a dig on the facility but it should be a concern if someone has a problem with a leg injury.

Wow what an amazing experience! We stood at the castle room 6 for the weekend to celebrate my birthday and I loved it. Everyone was wonderful from the moment of our arrival to our departure. The room was spacious and beautiful and the Castle itself was a historical treat. We did a couples massage and Frank and Kristen were amazing. The pool was great and so was the hot tub. Dinner at the castle was delicious. We had a package so we got a 3 course meal and everything from appetizer to dessert was delicious and the portions were great. Our waitress Diane made the experience even better. She was pleasant, patient, answered all my questions and even had recommendations. We throughly enjoyed the dining experience with her support. My only complaint was the hot breakfast buffet at the Point. It was not exactly hot let's just say warm to cool and there was not much to choose from. It was just too expensive for the selections and we regret not staying at the castle and trying the continental breakfast offered there. Needless to say despite the breakfast experience overall we had a wonderful time and I would gladly do it again.

We loved the castle! The restaurant at the castle with its romantic ambience and the delectable food as well as the heated pool were our highlights. The garden was very pretty too although we didn't have time for it due to the rain. But we still enjoyed the pool while singing 'rain over me' :) The customer service was excellent, not only in handling our hotel- related requests but actually being a guide for the whole area. We'd love to go back!

I have driven by many times and always wanted to experience this resort. Extremely glad I finally tried it. WOW, the main castle is quaint, the rooms are very clean and spacious. The bathroom needs updating, but that would spoil the era ambiance. Explore the manor to appreciate the decor. The restaurant is wonderful. Grab a bottle of wine and a gourmet meal; it will be a memory!
