Alexandra Resort is named after the coastal paradise it's part of – the 6,500-acre Princess Alexandra National Marine Park. This protected area is a sanctuary for the creatures living in the north barrier reef of Providenciales, and it keeps Grace Bay’s 12 miles of quiet, sugar-sand beaches pristine. Relax seaside under yellow umbrellas, with a drink in hand by a lagoon-style pool, or on a private terrace outfitted in teakwood furniture.

I am in Alexandra currently and last night dinner didn’t go well for us. The waiters were not friendly and didn’t even bother to first of all offer me any beverages and we had to ask for drinks. They didn’t bother to clear the table either. There was not that many guests eating at that time they were just standing and chatting among themselves without doing their job right. We were very disappointed and did notify the manager when he came around to inquire about how things were. No wine refill request or never looked at me the woman sitting there offering any drinks.

If you’re considering Alexandra Resort, go in with very low expectations—or better yet, choose somewhere else entirely. This was the most frustrating, poorly managed resort experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, things started going wrong. At Turquoise Grill, a simple drink order turned into confusion due to communication issues, and we were ultimately brought the wrong item. Another server had to step in to fix it. At the end of the meal, we were told we only needed to sign a receipt if we planned to leave a tip—completely inappropriate and uncomfortable. Dinner at Black Rock was even worse. Despite having a 7:30 PM reservation, we were seated at the only available table—right in a busy doorway—and then ignored for over 30 minutes with no drinks, no bread, nothing, while staff stood around. Only after involving a manager did service begin. Other guests reported waiting up to 90 minutes for food. This wasn’t “island time”—this was disorganization. The next day brought more of the same. There were no beach chairs available, and when we asked for assistance, we were told to carry scattered cushions ourselves just to sit together. Pool chairs were gone by 7AM daily, despite posted rules that were never enforced. While the entertainment staff and bartenders were a bright spot, they couldn’t make up for the lack of basic service. The shuttle system is a mess. You need to line up at least 30 minutes early—and even then, there’s no guarantee you’ll get on. Vans are too small, there’s no coordination, and at one point our driver was using a handheld phone while driving in the rain, which felt unsafe and unacceptable. Dining was wildly inconsistent. Salt was a good experience for us, but we heard from other families who waited over two hours without being served. At Fish Deck, our server struggled to communicate, brought multiple incorrect items, and never delivered a corrected dessert—we eventually gave up and left. Even takeout from the Truck Stop, despite being first in line at opening, took 30 minutes while others who ordered after us were served first. Then came the more serious issues. Twice during our stay, the water completely failed. Both times our daughter was in the shower when it happened. The second time, she was left in tears and had to rinse off with bottled water. We later learned the water system cannot handle demand on the upper floors. This is not a minor inconvenience—it’s a major infrastructure failure. The biggest issue, however, was the bait-and-switch with our room. We paid for a newly renovated Deluxe One Bedroom Garden Suite but were placed in a lower-tier room and misled at check-in. Days later, after multiple issues, management offered what they called an “upgrade”—which was actually the room we had already paid for. We were promised a refund for the difference—$1,813.14—both in writing and with a handshake from Alexx. We are now two weeks out and still waiting, with no resolution. At this point, we will be disputing the charge with our credit card company. To be fair, there were a few attempts to smooth things over—but they felt like surface-level damage control rather than real solutions. Manager Aleisa Walkin drove us to dinner after we missed a shuttle due to their failures, and we were sent a “gesture” to our room: a bottle of wine, cheese, fruit, and rose petals on the bed. Aside from the fact that food and wine are already included, the rose petals felt completely inappropriate given we were traveling with our 12-year-old daughter—tone-deaf and out of touch. They also offered a “complimentary” 50-minute couples massage, which we accepted after a stressful stay. Upon arrival at the Blue Haven spa, we were told it was only 30 minutes—and it was then charged to our final invoice at checkout, requiring yet another dispute. These gestures might look good on paper, but they don’t come close to making up for the consistent service failures, operational chaos, infrastructure problems, and lack of accountability. In short: poor management, unreliable service, serious facility issues, and misleading business practices. This resort is not worth the cost, the stress, or the disappointment.

Just got back from a week stay here - first time on the island - and we had an AMAZING time!! From checking in with Rodson & Roxanne, to being entertained on the beach with Tash, Razor & Cheeky, to going to the other resort with Walky, and even just laughing at dinner with Augstan - everything was great!! We came for our honeymoon and it was so relaxing. Beach was spectacular. We also did the Caicos Dreams snorkle cruise for 4 hours with Carlos and Baba - it's a do not miss for sure! The next day we did the crystal kyaks from Blue Haven - top notch and guides Benz, Rice, and our 3rd guide (I am having the worst senior moment right now and am blanking on his name which I feel horribe about because he was awesome with his marine education!!). It was very cool and saw a lot of sea trurtles. Food was always around. Drinks always flowed. And our room was perfect. We had a garden view renovated room, but we still got to see the ocean! Rooms were even mopped daily - which is a thing I didn't know I needed, but couldn't live without. Resort is pretty quiet at night, which is also very nice. Also big thanks to Woodson, Judith, Eglens, Milan, and Josiah for taking care of us too all week. (sincere apologies if I misspelled anyone's name (I'm like 99% sure I did) - my dumb*** forgot to write them all down at the resort and tried my best on my plane ride home to make a list lol) Overall, already very ready for another return trip!!

Dericka was extremely helpful and so pleasant. My friend and I were worried at first about doing an excursion and she made sure she let us know of how safe we would be! After we went on our excursion of snorkeling we booked a second one with her because she was able to let us know about the safety and the fun we would have. She is truly a pleasure and kind human!!
