Disappointing Service and Serious Safety Concerns

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

We booked Grace Bay Club through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR), expecting the level of service associated with both a luxury resort and the FHR program. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. Before arriving, we requested early check-in and fully understood that the FHR benefit is subject to availability. We never expected it to be guaranteed. What disappointed us was that Guest Services never appeared to make any effort to accommodate our request. Throughout our conversations, we were repeatedly reminded of the policy, but no one offered to check with housekeeping, explore another available room, or proactively follow up. Our room was finally ready at 2:50 p.m., just ten minutes before the standard 3:00 p.m. check-in. While waiting, our luggage was left outside the hotel entrance. When we expressed concern about its security, we were simply told that “there are camera there.” They never offered to put our luggage in a secure place. That was hardly reassuring for a luxury resort. The concierge also recommended and arranged a snorkeling excursion for us. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst tours we’ve experienced. The equipment didn’t fit properly, and more concerningly, the guide left us snorkeling alone in the middle of busy ocean where multiple boats were passing by. We were warned by a nearby boat that it was unsafe to snorkel without a guide especially in this area. This raised serious safety concerns. The most alarming incident happened when we finally entered our room around 6 p.m. The room door had been left open. When we reported this, the Manager on Duty explained that housekeeping sometimes leaves guest room doors open because it is “more convenient” while retrieving supplies. I found it difficult to accept that a room already assigned to an arriving guest could be intentionally left unsecured. Luxury hotels are judged not by whether problems occur, but by how they respond when they do. Unfortunately, Grace Bay Club consistently chose explanations over solutions.

An Unforgettable, Luxury Business Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

From start to finish, everyone at the Grace Bay Club did an exceptional job ensuring we were well taken care of and that every detail contributed to a comfortable, enjoyable experience. The rooms were incredibly spacious with amazing views, the restaurants offered excellent food and service, and the gym was fully equipped for all fitness levels. The beach and pools were absolutely spectacular. Additionally, the spa menu and treatments were fantastic, and the boutique was a perfect touch for picking up an evening outfit. Throughout the entire property, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I was lucky to visit South Bank / Rock House and Point Grace and will have to go back... Each property is enchanting and unique with so much to offer. Can't wait to visit again.

It was our first time in Turks and Caicos and at Grace Bay Club. What an enjoyable experience! The hotel, the staff, the accommodations were all first rate. The beach was fantastic, as were all the pools. Infiniti restaurant has great sushi and a wonderful wine list. we will definitely be back.

Absolute Perfection — 10/10, We’ll Be Back

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Our stay at Grace Bay Club was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless — warm, attentive, and genuinely world-class. The property itself is stunning, sitting right on one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen, with crystal-clear turquoise water just steps from the door. Every detail was dialed in: the rooms were immaculate, the food was outstanding, and the staff made us feel like family the entire trip. It was the perfect blend of luxury and relaxation. This was an absolute 10 out of 10 experience, and we will 100% be returning. If you’re considering Grace Bay Club, stop considering and book it — you won’t regret it.

Great view, subpar service and amenities

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I spent a lot of time researching my ideal hotel in Turks and Caicos- specifically Grace Bay as it is known for its beautiful water and beach. The view was indeed A+. Unfortunately that was the only highlight. When we arrived at the hotel we were barely greeted and took longer than expected to get us situated. The overall vibe was friendly but not really interested in working or going above and beyond. I expected more when paying over 1K a night. The room, which was said to be recently redone, reminded me of a 70’s style art deco Florida hotel. Empty refrigerator, no amenities besides a small bottle of premade Espresso Martini mix. Bathroom was bare bones. The buffet breakfast was nice. Plenty of options and service at the restaurants in general was much better than at the Spa, beach or pool. The spa was nothing special. A couple of rooms and again minimal amenities. The steam room was out of order. We were told by our butler that we needed to get chairs early before breakfast. The beach and pool staff were basically nonexistent. They only came by when we went looking for them. They had flags to signal them but that often went unnoticed. Food and drinks took over 30 minutes to get. Definitely faster to just walk up to the bar/restaurant. While the beach view and ocean were spectacular, it is important to note that there is constantly large boats coming in and out, blasting music (in the swim area) to pick up/drop off guests for excursions. Note that these excursions which they highly recommended and pushed were in large (100+ people) boats. It did not look like what they frequently post/advertise. The hotel is located on a long strip with other hotels which made it nice to walk but unfortunately it was extremely crowded. The Infinity restaurant on property stood out. Beautiful views. Service and food were very good and we ended up eating there most nights. We headed to the Ritz for dinner one night. We would not return to The Grace Bay Club but would definitely come back to Turks. We enjoyed Parrot Cay when we went years ago so was looking for something different but along those lines.
