A stunning beach and a perfect family suite — held back by service and management gaps

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 23 hours ago

We stayed at Point Grace as a family of five, and came away with genuinely mixed feelings: the bones of a great resort are all here, but a few very fixable gaps kept it from reaching the higher-end experience the setting promises. What we loved: The location is fantastic and the beach is simply amazing — that classic Grace Bay powder sand and turquoise water. Our two-bedroom oceanfront suite was the highlight: spacious, comfortable, and perfect for a family of five. This is where the property really nailed the intimate, boutique feel. The pool was lovely and never crowded, which the kids adored, and the Hobie Cat ride offered by the beach staff was one of their favorite parts of the entire trip. The staff throughout were friendly and genuinely helpful. Where it fell short: The poolside food was a real weak spot. We found a metal object in our tacos, which was honestly alarming, and a simple ice cream order took over an hour to arrive. These are the kinds of things that undercut trust at a resort of this caliber. The beach setup was our biggest frustration. For a boutique hotel, we didn't understand why guests aren't assigned dedicated beach spots in advance — the way most higher-end boutique properties do. Instead you play the "beach chair game." We lost our spot simply because we walked down the beach for lunch (which we'd done because of the dining issues the day before), then waited about 20 minutes to get set up in a new one — and another 30 minutes on top of that while staff went back to storage for umbrellas. This is such an easy fix: if the resort knows a party of five is on the beach every day, set up a dedicated spot each morning and the whole experience improves dramatically. That same issue bleeds into service. The staff are lovely, but it was surprisingly hard to get a drink — the beach team is so stretched setting up and tearing down chairs that no one has time to take drink orders. A couple of dedicated drink attendants, combined with spots pre-set in the morning, would raise the service level tenfold. One heads-up: As other reviews mention, there's construction on both sides of the property. To be fair, a lot of Grace Bay is in the same boat and there's not much the hotel can do — just something to be aware of. The verdict: A mixed experience, but with real potential to be great. The beach, the pool, and the family suite are genuinely excellent. What's missing is that higher-end touch and some sharper management around dining, beach service, and setup. Fix those, and this becomes a standout.

Amazing stay!

Our stay at Point Grace was wonderful! It was small and quiet and just what we needed for our vacation. Gea and Locresha at the front desk were always so friendly and helpful. Raynard took us out for a sail on the hobie cat and it was so peaceful and beautiful! Eddy and Kani at the beach/pool are were also always helpful. Jeff at Grace's Cottage knew our breakfast order just after our first day there! Special thanks to the grounds keeper for getting us fresh green coconuts every time he was there. We had a truly amazing stay!

Magical moments and memories

This was my second stay at Point Grace and the experience yet again exceeded my expectations! It was so great to get hugs and “welcome home” comments from the familiar team members. Marinique, Jeff and Junior were spot on every morning for breakfast. Cosmey was entertaining at the bar and always delivered the perfect cocktail. Eddy, Kani, and Raynard made our beach experience extra special every day. Roy and Locresha handled all the details at the front. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the most amazing stay yet again. I can’t wait to come back home!!

Incredibly quiet and calm hotel in an absolutely beautiful setting with helpful and responsive staff.

We visited Point Grace in June 2026 and already miss it. The hotel is perfect if you're looking for a quiet place with access to a stunning beach. The staff generally leaves you alone but is available if you need anything. Point Grace also has great easy access to the Provo shopping area - we didn't have or need a car. I rated a 5 because we would go back in a second, but a couple things to be aware of if they matter to you - the on-site restaurant is good and a nice setting, but you'll get better food and more value for your money if you walk to the nearby shopping area. Secondly, another reviewer noted ongoing construction, which is true and a bit annoying, but there's lots of construction going on all over Provo. It's very noticeable at Point Grace because the grounds are so quiet to begin with. Lastly, we had an upper room with two vents in the bedroom. It's hot, so the A/C goes during the evening and the air blasts directly onto the bed. Some people like this, but if you're sensitive to cold you might want to ask about this. I'd strongly recommend management install vents with adjustable louvers.

Stay at another hotel

Worse hotel I’ve ever stayed at, thank god the beaches are beautiful. Should have known it was a disaster even trying to get through their reservations. The private pick up service is a scam, just get a taxi or a car. Tried to pay to upgrade our room, wouldn’t respond to us and then lied about availability. The food is horrible, breakfast is also a scam, charging these prices for spoiled meat and cheese that’s melting as a charcuterie board. “Continental breakfast included” is a joke. Construction going on next door, so loud during the day and they still refused to move us. You can hear it on the beach. I asked for the GMs number, they refused. Only good thing about this hotel was the pool/beach staff, they took care of us. Horrible. Spend a little more and go to a different hotel. Grace Bay Club was beautiful, would rather stay there. Do not waste ur money here
