Point Grace in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands

Point Grace, named for the honeymooner who bequeathed her name to Grace Bay's indelibly beautiful shores more than 100 years ago, is a collection of spacious suites that retain the elegant British Colonial architecture of the island’s past. Rooms show off well-crafted Indonesian teak furniture, Frette linens and Turkish Saturnia floors. Outside, white sand beaches, recognized as some of the best in the world, lead to the underwater wonderland of Princess Alexandra National Park, where protected reefs teem with tame fish, graceful stingrays and barracudas.

Watch the sunlight glint through the palm fronds shading your terrace as you sip your morning coffee. Take a long walk down the 12-mile runway of Grace Bay beach. Stop to wade in crystalline waters when the sun gets intense. Deliberate over the day’s one true decision: coconut conch chowder or seared grouper with black bean and corn salsa?

We just returned from an 8 night stay at Point Grace and had an amazing time. We are a family of 5 and stayed in the 2 bedroom Atlantic Suite in the east building. The room was wonderful - nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. The beach is quiet and the pool serene. I love that there was always a lounge chair which ever location you wanted to be - no reserving and hording chairs. We looked forward to the daily complementary fruit kabobs and smoothies that were served on the beach. It was a very nice touch. Loved the restaurant - Grace's Cottage so much that we went 2 consecutive days! It was a relaxing fun vacation - we can't wait to return.

Cant say enough about this lovely resort. Centrally located...short walk to everything. Charming and lovely!! Most rooms overlook the spectacular Grace Bay. Beach or pool...the service is wonderful! Pool side Happy Hour is great!!

I've been lucky enough to have been to Grace Bay many, many times. This was my first stay at Point Grace. Let's start with the pros: - Point Grace is truly a small, quiet resort. Almost no kids around (take a walk past Beaches and thank your lucky stars you're staying at PG), it is indeed a relaxing retreat. - Beautiful pool. Excellent location on Grace Bay with large beach area without being on top of your fellow resort guest. (although if I were to be perfectly honest, being on the point tends to be more windy/choppy vs. other resorts tucked in the bay...not the resort's fault though). PG is centrally located enough that we walked everywhere and avoided costly cabs. - Lovely staff members on the beach who bring you ice buckets with water and fresh fruit. - Large cottages with high-end toiletries and washer/dryers. - Home of the best restaurant on island. We've eaten everywhere...no place beats Grace's Cottage. Maybe a tie with Coco Bistro :) Cons: - While the cottages are large, they are outdated and run down. The furniture and finishes are in need of an serious upgrade (blinds/drapes are in need of repair, etc). Given the nightly rate, we were let down by the ho-hum interiors. Particularly the bathrooms. The resort looks every bit of its 17+ years old. - Bikes, while free to use, are barely functional. For $500+/night you'd think you'd get a working bike to poke around the island. - The pool bar/restaurant opens late (noon) and closes early (6pm). The bartender, Cosmey, is a true standout gem, and she almost makes the bizarre hours worth it. If you want a drink or casual bite before or after these hours, prepare to leave the resort you paid so dearly for. - Customer service is lacking. We were given one key to our cottage. We asked 3 times for a second key, and by the third day of asking we finally gave up and left our door unlocked when one of us needed to get in. We also had to ask housekeeping for a bar of soap and laundry detergent EVERY DAY. We of course tipped the housekeeping staff who brought us the basics after calling the front desk for help, but we started to think the staff "forgot" basic housekeeping items on purpose just to receive a tip once we called for replacements. - It's tough to complain about a free ride to and from the airport - but the gentleman who drove us both times not only had cars laying on their horns at the airport because of his excessively slow driving (to the point where we questioned getting our own cab to the airport to avoid another 25 minute ride in the PG vehicle), he also simply wouldn't stop talking. We just wanted to get the the resort. Less talking, more driving. In short - PG has serious potential and already has a lot going for it. You can also stay on the same beautiful beach at a different resort with a better value.

It had been a few years since we had been to PG and we were curious to see how we'd find it. Happy to report that it was a wonderful visit! As usual the resort is a quiet gem that allows for visitors to unwind. Our big decisions of the day were beach or pool, what to eat for dinner, etc. The beach itself is beautiful and quiet. In my opinion it's the best around (others are crowded or narrow but not PG). The pool is not huge but peaceful and has the bar where you can order food/drinks for much of the day. Also, it may seem silly but the routine of fruit in the morning and sorbet in the afternoon is great and our kids looked forward to both each day. The whole team treated us great but I'd be remiss if I didn't thank Leslie who is fantastic. It is always nice to return and see him! Also, many thanks to Grace's Cottage pastry chef who again made our wedding cake just like 10 years ago when we were married there -- very special for us! We enjoyed the food (including an excellent meal at Grace Cottage). Our room (oceanfront 2br) was very spacious with fantastic views of the ocean. Overall, we were very pleased with our time at PG and look forward to being able to return!

Staff goes out of their way to help you with any request. Everyone on the island is so friendly. I actually found Point Grace on Groupon and it did not disappoint. Beautiful property. Quiet magnificent beach. The water is warm and crystal clear. Not enough words to describe how wonderful my stay at Point Grace was. Thanks to all for making my 1st trip to Turks memorable.
