Beach House Turks and Caicos in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos

Beach House Turks and Caicos wants to start a movement – from now on, a boutique hotel should provide unexpected bits of pampering to make a beach holiday totally carefree. It should stock each suite's refrigerator with the guest’s favorite foods. It should be on hand to arrange once-in-a-lifetime diving expeditions to some of the world’s best coral reefs, but remain gracefully unobtrusive to privacy-seekers on the idyllic flour-white sand of Grace Bay. The anything-you-want atmosphere here is why guests keep coming back.

Concoct your own breakfast of fresh-picked pumelos and starfruit to enjoy on your sunny terrace. Listen to the breeze rustle through the sand dunes on your way to a placid turquoise sea. Float and forget time. As the sky goes dark and the stars come out, pop champagne and savor coconut herb mahi-mahi at an oceanfront table for two amid the flickering glow of tiki torches.

We hosted our wedding at Beach House in early November 2017. The whole experience was extremely disappointing and the way we and our guests were treated by Beach House was truly hurtful. We have been to Provo numerous times and love the island. We were very excited to share our wedding festivities with our family and friends, and the service and treatment we got at Beach House has left us all feeling like there is no point in returning. The wedding planner, Shauna, and room coordinator, Hendrika, were MIA most of the time. Our concern when booking was “island time” and we certainly got it. The overall theme was annoyed responses by staff and complete lack of care. If you are planning on hosting a wedding at Beach House, feel free to message me. We purchased the highest package, 60 guests for the reception and had a buyout. I am more than happy to answer any questions in hopes that you do not have the experience we did. Below are only a few of the issues that came up: - Our guests had to write/call the hotel numerous times to get hotel confirmations. Arrival and departure dates were wrong for multiple guests and getting someone to respond to voicemails and emails to correct the issues was impossible. - We booked cars for our guests to be picked up from the airport. After we were billed, the drivers tried to also collect money from some of our guests. Luckily we noticed this and stopped it. We were also told a certain price and charged another – overcharging happened numerous times. - Our guests were constantly made feel like they were bothering the staff by asking for anything (i.e. ordering food at 3:45pm when the beach deck restaurant closes at 4pm was impossible as the staff’s response was “the kitchen would kill me if I put this order in now”.) - Breakfast took a ridiculous amount of time to get the food and orders were often wrong. - At the wedding whole tables didn’t have utensils and getting dessert spoons took three asks and over 45 minutes. - Various guests didn’t even receive one of the courses at the reception and were told by the wait staff “they ran out” without even checking with the kitchen. At over $250 per person, this should not be the case. - The package we purchased came with a couples massage, decorated suite (champagne and chocolates) on wedding night. Not only did no one bother with any of this, but we didn’t even get a simple congratulations note or any type of congratulatory acknowledgement. We were also told that we were receiving fruit platters as we were getting ready for the wedding. They never came and mid pictures we had to run up and grab granola bars because naturally the kitchen was not available to make anything. - The wedding planner left before the wedding was over and we never heard from her again. Not even to check us out the last day and walk us through the bill. - We were promised a bonfire for the welcome dinner which never happened. When we asked about it (two hours into the dinner), we were told that the person was double booked and they wouldn’t be coming. We were also reminded by Francisco that the bonfire was complementary. Yes, it was in fact complementary, but also a big part of why we decided to book Beach House for the welcome dinner. - We were grossly overcharged for the bar in two occasions. The welcome dinner charge was so ridiculous that it would mean all our guests, a majority of whom had just flown in an hour prior had consumed over 9 drinks per person. While I'm sure management will try to argue this to be true, certainly a doctor would have been needed onsite if this had in fact been the case. - Drink prices CLEARLY listed in contracts as one one thing were billed as double. Not only was no explanation provided when asked, but we were also made to feel as if we were being extremely annoying when asking any questions. - And so much more….. The one very positive thing we want to mention is the vendors. Photography – Anita from Brilliant Studios: Anita was an absolute joy to work with. While we have not received the pictures yet as the wedding was only last week, from the moment we met in May until the day of the wedding she was phenomenal. Her professionalism and calm demeanor immediately gave us the confidence that she would do a great job. Music -DJ Dayoh: Michael is amazing. He does a great job reading the crowd. He was also kind enough to put together my cocktail hour list as we were chatting at breakfast. His fun personality comes through and he did a great job keeping the party going. Videography – Presont: So easy to work with and accommodating. Even though we booked him for only two hours, he made sure to stay longer and capture not only our ceremony but the party as well. Very much appreciated! Flowers – flowers by EA: the flowers, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception decorations were absolutely beautiful. Ernst did an amazing job. Makeup – Thea: from the trial to the day of the wedding, Thea did exactly what I was looking for. Loved the look and her style is light airbrush. With all the humidity, that’s exactly what I was looking for. Our weekend was shared with our loving families and friends and we were lucky to have enough people around us to enjoy the company. While I’m sure Beach House management has their side and will certainly try and refute our review, I want to remind them that none of us were asking for special treatment. We simply were looking for a pleasant experience. The ridiculous overcharges, annoyed attitude and constant undelivered promises by the staff and wedding planner are experiences that will unfortunately stay with us. I truly hope that management will seriously consider these comments. I hope other couples considering Beach House as their wedding venue are not treated the way we were.

The Beach House is incredible. My wife and I vacationed at the Beach House from November 2-6, and we could not have enjoyed ourselves any more. The accommodations are wonderful, the staff is extremely accommodating and professional, the food and libations are excellent, and the beach is unbelievable. We would like to particularly thank Dewayne and Sherman for their top not attention to detail and desire to make our vacation as good as possible. The access to the sister resorts, Blue Haven and the Alexandra (after 11/15), was very appealing, and we had a great kayaking experience in the mangroves from Blue Haven. While the Beach House breathes relaxation, there is also plenty to do, such as sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and taking a short walk or swim to the reef for some great snorkeling. We will definitely be back!

My family and I enjoyed our trip to the Beach House in 2016, and we were looking forward to a second stay here in 2018. However, we've found out that this place is apparently banning kids beginning next year. It's too bad, because this was a wonderful little, family friendly place.

This was a very special trip for us, the first real vacation in ten years. I called ahead to confirm the ocean front room on the first floor had a view of the ocean . I was told it did indeed have a clear view. It in fact had a view of the back of the small beachside restaurant. The manager Vanessa was very helpful and changed it to the second floor and the view was amazing of Grace Bay. The rooms were large and the bed was very comfy and had soft linens. It was furnished very cute and beachy. Other then that the bathroom had a rusted shower head, noticeable mold growing on the bottom of shower stall, a very small sink, dirty dusty floors, including hair in the draws which I cleaned myself. The stairs leading up to the room were chipped ceramic tile and were very dirty, and this is something you look at every time you go up and down. The pool was very cloudy and did not look clean at all. The cushions on the pampering pods were worn and not comfortable . Chairs are inches from the people next to you and can not be moved because they are made of heavy wood so you are stuck there. There's no sheltered areas to sit under aside from some canvas tarps over the restaurant by the beach. Every hotel and place we went to had gazebos and covered areas and greenery to block the sun and create breezes. The beach is vacant except for grasses and 3 pine trees. It reminded me of the Jersey shore except for the gorgeous water. There's nothing like the water. The long boardwalk to the beach had huge shards of wood that I navigated every day to avoid splinters. It could have been swept so as to avoid that. There's no bathroom near the beach which was strange as well. No one ever came out to offer a drink on the beach in 7 days. I tried to speak to a few of the employees and ask how they were doing just to be friendly and try to enjoy the experience. They had nothing to say except "fine" so I don't get the reviews about how friendly the staff is. (Except for Vanessa who was very nice and Jessica in the front office who was super helpful and professional. )My husband was trying to find bottled water but there wasn't any to be found. An employee did finally find some after running all over. The wine in the restaurant was very warm, there were no mashed potatoes left, and they had no fruit of any kind for breakfast . The food and service is nothing like the many restaurants we found which was gourmet cuisine in most places. I loved the idea of a small place, but it was very disappointing to go to other hotels along the same beach and see people on beach floats on the water, and sitting near palm trees and under really comfy shelters and being offered drinks as we walked by. It saddens me that we spent so much money and were so excited to finally go to Paradise and it was a letdown.
