I just returned from the Gansevoort Turks and Caicos. You would never know there was a category 5 hurricane 5 months ago. Not only is the hotel isn stellar condition, its better than ever. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The property is immaculate and they have made significant changes to the resort since my last visit. The menu at Stelle and Zest have been expanded and every meal was amazing. The service at the beach, front desk, and beach is stellar. A special thanks to Reginald at the pool, Andrew at the Best bar and Kizzy and Kendrick at the front desk. They made us feel special and no request was too much.

Views are spectacular. Rooms are clean and modern. Staff is AMAZING. Food is good. Drinks are strong and $16. If you want to ride the horses on the beach, you must plan 2 months in advance. Rent a car and explore the island. Snorkelling is a MUST.

The property is Beautiful, Stunning and Gorgeous first and foremost.. Service was spotty and at times reprehensible. I am easy and not even particular... But hot showers were even tough to come by. We surely wont be back anytime soon and I would not be able to recommend it to anyone. The good news is the issues we experienced are all things they can fix, First day on the beach we had been pressing our service button on the umbrella for about 45 mins to get drinks and lunch on the beach with no response before walking up to one of the service huts, they said the battery is probably bad on our umbrella.. So we asked them if we could have a seat and eat lunch up by the bar. We Sat by the bar for another 15 minutes with 4 or so staff in orange shirts right next to us and no other guest in our area,, None of them acknowledged us or asked if they could get us anything including the gentleman we just told we had been trying to get service at the beach for close to an hour.. They were all just chatting and hanging out by the bar waiting for their drink orders for other guest whom were getting service.. I approached the bartender and asked what we had to do to get service around here.. I explained to him what took place.. no apology, no nothing.. he just said that they thought we were just hanging out and a lot of guest just sit there and order nothing.. After the intense frustration at the lack of service and being hungry My wife was furious and ready to leave the resort altogether on our first day.. after complaining to the front desk they took us back to the restaurant and they said they would take care of the meal and so they sat us down and we could finally enjoy our vacation. things were going well and back on track until the food came.. there was a hair sitting right on top of my wrap which I graciously overlooked and took it off and kept it to myself.. I took my first bite and there were 2 more hairs in the first bite of my chicken fajita wrap.. WTF .. the server saw me spit the food out and took the plate right away before I could open it up and see what else was in there, I sure hope this was not intentional and retribution for complaining from the staff not giving us any service.. We got up and left.. didnt eat the lunch obviously.. Still have a gross feeling stuck in back of my throat They brung us a bottle of sparkling wine and fruit plate to the beach, but it was anything but a vacation that afternoon.. just 1 horrible experience after another.. After that we had a few more problems with spotty service... and never ate anything there again the rest of the stay other than breakfast buffet. Its weird, many of the other guest (owners) were all hugging the staff and having incredible service I presume.. we couldn't get the time of day.. When setting up chairs I'd tip them and asked for water and they say they will be right back but none brung.. asked for extra towel another day none brung.. had same problem with service at pool with nobody coming when button pressed.. Again said umbrella battery must be bad When we first arrived the shower would only get lukewarm, couldnt even take hot showers, My wife informed the staff and they said 2 rooms share 1 hot water heater or something and sent a maintenance man to make adjustments.. after that it was 50/50 whether we could get a hot shower or not.. just got to beat the other room to the hot water in the tank.. It was never a cold shower though.. Lukewarm was always the worst case scenario, which is not the end of the world, just not something you should expect at a luxury resort paying $1,500 a night.. Room was amazing and the housekeeping was wonderful.. Room was always spotless and so clean.. Housekeeping is exceptional and they do have that part figured out AC controls are not user friendly and the unit shuts off by itself after certain lengths of time.. would sweat at night Anyways the place has tons of issues for a luxury resort and they know it.. It is a gorgeous property though.

So many good reasons to come back again... and again. The staff are at the top of the list! I could name many who work very hard and serve graciously with BIG smiles. A secial thank you, Claudia, for making paradise even better!

The hotel itself (grounds, property, personnel, spa) were above average. But the prices here are completely insane relative to the value ($300 lunch consisting of 4 chicken caesar salads). There's also a segment of travelers that seem to have graduated from the Jersey Shore and think it's cool to come here to catch Snoop Dawg I think. Weird mix of folks.
