About the Hotel

It's hard to improve on perfection, but The Palms, Turks and Caicos, lauded as Turks and Caicos' top resort, managed to take the island's flour-white sands and tranquil seas and turn them into something even more beautiful. Manicured lawns surround a cluster of British colonial-style buildings made from hand-cut coral, marrying understated luxury with Caribbean coolness.

The Palms

Great resort. Great location. Fun and friendly staff. Jane was great and always met us with a smile for breakfast. I would highly recommend The Palms. It was not too big and always felt private. Rooms are nice and facilities are well maintained.

Miss you Dwayne

I am writing this review for Dwayne, the bartender at Parallel 23 at the Palms. We ended every evening there with Dwayne making our mudslides. I got to know him very well and he became a friend. He always gave us a warm welcome and gave us great service. Hope to see you again Dwayne!

Beautiful location, salty staff

The resort is beautiful, laid out in a somewhat plantation style, with an absolutely strikingly, beautiful beach. The breakfast buffet seem to have a nice variety, although it was relatively the same every day. It was fine for me. The gym is small, but well stocked and the spa is beautiful. However, I really had a hard time getting over the saltiness of most of the staff with several exceptions. Concierge and Margaret, who did our turndown service were amazing and lovely. However, the wait staff is completely different. no one's going to say good morning to you first. I didn't even know that there was poolside service because I only saw somebody on one of the four days. Then it was such an odd thing because when she finally brought us a drink, I'm laying on a beach chair obviously and she would not bend down to place my drink on the table and made me get up to grab it. I know it's not a big deal. It just seems, odd. During our hotel tour, my daughter asked where the location of the gym was and apparently asked a couple of times because no one answered her and then the lady says well. Let me go show it to you now so you don't keep asking me and then sort of waved in the direction of where the gym was and when my daughter asked more specifically where it was, the lady said, are you gonna make me walk all the way over there and pointed out to you? I made it a point to learn several servers names and again if I greeted them first, I might get a good morning back. Also, the way that people asked for tips at breakfast felt a little odd and pushy. I'm not sure if they did not like my tip, but after day one no server came to the table for coffee. I didn't let it damp in my trip, but I don't think I'll come back because there are other options in the Caribbean and elsewhere with beautiful beaches where people will treat you like they're happy to have you.

Jut returned from staying at the Palms. Many more cons than pros. This is far from a 5 star luxury resort! The Pros: The property beautiful with easy access to the beach. We stayed in a 1 bedroom oceanfront suite which was a bit dated but still nice. Spacious and clean rooms. The restaurant Parallel 23 was amazing and one of our favs. The spa is perfect for a little relaxation and an amazing massage from Ayu The cons: The service is absolutely terrible! The staff, especially the ones working the pool grounds, pool restaurant and beach were unwelcoming and rude. From the first day were arrived, we were made to feel unwelcome and an inconvenience. In the 4 nights we were there, we had 1 person come by 1 time to ask us if we want to order a drink at the pool! I asked for a couple towels at the pool only to have the pool staff point to where the towels are and tell me I can “just go grab them yourself” then roll his eyes and turn his back on me and continue with his conversation. There is no service at the pool or beach so expect to walk to the bar to order drinks and food because no one is coming to take your order. Each time we wanted a drink, we had to walk to the bar to order, only to be made to feel like we were a burden. We would get eye rolls and passed off to the next server until someone would let out a sigh and say “what do you want?”. It was such a yucky feeling to feel so uncomfortable on vacation. The guys working the beach dont even look up to acknowledge you. The sign says something like "pool access for guest only" but there is no way they have any idea who is a guest and who isnt because they dont look up from their phones. By the 2nd day, we knew we needed to get our own towels, set up our own chairs, go to the bar to get our drinks and order lunch, then back to pick up our lunch order to take back to our pool chairs, because otherwise no one else was going to do it (and no one would come by to clean the plates). By the way, Im fine doing all of this for myself but I do expect a certain level of kindness, friendliness and professionalism....and maybe a little smile every once in awhile. To charge $1500/night (not including tax or service), excellent service is a must! Honestly I have never felt so uncomfortable and unwelcomed on vacation as I did on this trip at the Palms. I’m so sad for this experience because I spent months planning this trip, knowing that we will likely not have the opportunity to come back anytime soon. Very disappointed. Definitely do not recommend The Palms

Everything about The Palms is perfect for us. Beautiful location. Beds and pillows heavenly. Stelia in housekeeping is wonderful as are all the staff. A home away from home. Thank you to all for always making our stays special.
