I stayed at the West Bay Club a few weeks ago and must say I was very impressed. The resort itself was very nice and had that islandy feel. When we checked in the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were given an upgrade for our room and couldn't have been happier with the room itself along with the most amazing view of the beach! It really made our stay that much more special. The food on the resort was delicious! Chef Livingstone is great at what he does. The servers during breakfast were very kind and always greeted us with a smile. The bar by the beach was one of our favorites. You can have lunch and dinner on the beach which is exactly what most people want to do on vacation. Paula, the bartender is great and a very pleasant person. My husband and I went for massages at the resort and we had Mala perform our massages. She was EXCELLENT & one of the most kindest people we've ever met! Be sure to get a massage by her when your in TCI because she truly is wonderful. I have to also mention Ty from the west bay club. She was also very pleasant and just a very down to earth person. My husband and I were glad to have met such amazing people. Everyone at the west bay club made us feel like home. We cant wait to return back here next year!

We stayed here for a few days in November for my birthday. It is a smaller property than other hotels however the staff is very friendly and will definitely get to know you. Since its a smaller property you do not have to reserve a spot at the beach or the pool. You are greeted at the beach with an escort to your seats with fresh beach towels. The chef will also get to know you and will cater to whatever your diet is. Overall, a very nice stay.

Let me first say I did enjoy this trip. I was in between leaving 3 and 4 stars but i went with 3 due to many things that i feel we shouldn't have run into paying this much for a resort. But we did still have a good time. I will list the good and bad we ran into. Rooms- We booked a luxury one bedroom oceanfront suite. Upon arrival it was evening time and they brought us to room 108 which was on the bottom floor. You can see the ocean somewhat but it wasnt what i was expecting for a luxury oceanfront. It was nice because the bottom floor you can walk straight from the patio to the beach. However, so can everybody else and people were walking by our windows frequently. The first night i was sitting on the couch in a robe and looked up to see a worker right outside my window on our patio! Not sure what he was doing. Also our safe was broken, the gate to our patio was broken and the door kept swinging open and blocking us from opening the glass patio door, the coffee pot wasnt working, and we could only get slightly warm water in the shower. I dont know if this had to do with the recent hurricane and i was trying to be understanding but the guy on the porch was enough for me. I asked to be moved after this and we were moved the next day to the 2nd floor, room 203b. Much better view! The rooms are beautiful by the way! This room had everything working, except we found out the tub only filled with yellow water! I posted a picture. So we couldnt use it. The rest of the room was wonderful! Spacious and luxurious. And much more private... except for the fact that they had workers on a scaffold outside our windows for 4 days working on the exterior and windows. It was really disappointing to not get any privacy on this trip. They were right outside the window for the rest of our trip. Pics included. Oh one other thing.. there was an issue with ants. They kept getting into food that we had bought. Pretty gross. Food- The restaurant here called noodles was ok. My salmon was overcooked but good flavor. Not worth the $100 we dropped on that meal. We asked for water to drink and we were charged $7 for a bottle of water. The grill by the beach was terrible. Flavorless food, my husband had the pulled pork and i had the chicken club, the chicken was so overcooked and chewy i could barely choke it down. Some people we met said they had great chicken tacos but i didnt get to try them. I reccomend venturing out for food. Those were the only places to eat at the resort. The resort did offer complimentary breakfast which was great! Delicious food, but it was the same every day. Would have been nice if they changed it up a little. Try other places to eat, we ate at mango reef and LOVED it, great food and service, reasonable prices. Bella luna is a decent place for some cheaper italian, not fancy but decent. And mr grouper was more of a local place that had a hometown feeling and pretty good food as well, and inexpensive. We also ate at the VIX downtown, it was really good, however it was a very limited menu, not what we saw online. Mostly just sandwiches and burgers and such. But delicious. There are many other high end places to eat if you are wanting to eat a little fancier. Service- I will say the staff was very friendly. We had one lady who remembered what we liked every morning at breakfast and always made sure they had the jelly i liked and our coffee. She was wonderful! Service is SLOW here. Plan on at least 1-2 hours to eat, nobody is in any hurry! The rooms were cleaned very nicely and had a nice turn down service as well. One other thing i thought was strange is the beach house with the towels never had any towels ready in the morning. They would wash and dry them in the morning for some reason so they usually werent ready when we were heading out to the beach. You always had to wait awhile. Which wasnt much fun because the chairs were wet everyday from the rain. I thought the overall service was ok. Just extremely slow. Spa- The spa is tiny. Mala is the lady working in there, she was wonderful! Great massages! I wasnt a fan of the pedicure as much, they dont have any chairs for that, i was sitting in the lobby chair and she brought over a bucket with hot soapy water to soak my feet and she had to get down on the floor to paint my nails. I didnt like that, it was very awkward. She did give me extra reflexology on my feet that she said i needed and didnt charge me for the extra time. Very sweet lady! The facial was ok, it was supposed to be a pore cleansing one but she didnt do any of that, just a bunch of lotions and creams on my face and a facial massage. But it felt great! Definitely try her massage, it was very relaxing. Beach- You wont beat this beach. It was the best we saw! Huge beach area and the sand feels like brown sugar on your toes! We walked as far as the palms and west bay definitely had the best beach. So beautiful! Overall i liked the resort. I wanted to love it but i just couldn't. I feel like it was priced way too high for what we were getting. When i pay extra for luxury i expect that. And it was very pretty but just not luxurious and not at all private.

We have been to the West Bay Club seven or eight times over the past for five years. The beach is phenomenal, the accommodations include large suites and the staff are very accommodating. Particularly grateful to Charles (who patiently taught me sailing 101). Also impressed with Mala in the spa. Fortunately the property was largely spared From the recent hurricanes and Staff have done a good job conducting Repairs, as required. Great place (walk/run on the beach) to chill.

After Hurricane Irma hit, we didn't know what we'd expect at West Bay or the island in general. But, we were dedicated to going and so glad we did. The West Bay Club is in great shape. The property seemed to have suffered minor damage (some foliage missing and roof shingles off), and did not impact our stay at all. The resort was quiet, but this is the way we like it (we are here in the off season so that is to be expected). We were upgraded to a 1-bedroom deluxe suite and what a treat! We have a panoramic view of the ocean and a covered deck that just begs for a nap - or a drink. The beach is awesome and the guys will set up comfy chairs with cushions, umbrellas and towels for you. There is a restaurant/bar right on the beach as well. We didn't eat on the premises for lunch/dinner, though they serve both, with nightly specials such as a BBQ ribs and fish night. Breakfast is included and there is a nice assortment of fresh, cold and hot items. The entire staff was kind and accommodating every step of the way! Next door to West Bay is the Gandsevoot Hotel. We had dinner there at Restaurant Stelle and it was fine (all you can eat sushi on Thurs night was the attraction). Drinks at the Seven Seas resort were pricey but the bartender makes a mean mojito. And Italian food at Via Veneto. The food was decent and the owner is very friendly. Sitting outside on the deck made the evening. Best of all though was Coco Bistro. The food was delish and sitting outside surrounded by a palm forest can't be beat. Their food cart restaurant, Cocovan, on the same premisis, is much more casual with picnic tables and paper plates. Since our room has a full kitchen, we stocked up on some food and beverages from the Graceway Gourmet. They have a great selection of everything from alcohol to prepared foods to fruits and veggies. So, while the resort is up and running and for many places, it is business as usual, the hurricane did not come without a cost; the damage effected many homes and surely some jobs have still not been recovered. Our attitude was to contribute the best we can while we were here and spread the word that Turks/Caicos is definitely ready for your visit!
