Pros and cons of Windsong

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Pros Great property Our room was very new, well furnished, very polished Awesome staff, friendly! Love the work out room especially openness, cleanliness and new peloton bikes Love the paddle board amenity always was available when I used Swim up discs in the water were nice Location was great Staff once again was amazing Cons We had a bad dining experience at your top restaurant, paid quite a bit for food that was served cold, asked waitress to cancel a drink order as my wife decided she didn’t want anymore, hadn’t been delivered yet and the waitress acted like it was a pain, had to ask for service everytime we wanted something. Unfortunately the cost of the dinner was never refunded, although it was clear the next day the staff had been talked too, so good follow up after lodging complaint w front desk. Expected dinner to be refunded, we cancelled our future reservation there based on terrible experience. Our bathroom shower wasn’t pitched correctly and every shower leaked into the bathroom significantly and sometimes into the hallway, we had to makeshift water barriers w extra towels One day our room was never cleaned, only received turn down service, room still had sand, no new tolls etc.

Windsong lures you back!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Our second time to Windsong in 4 years, and we have already booked a return visit February 2026 and here is why! The quaint feel of this resort and the retention of their employees provides a more exclusive feel than many other resorts I have been to. We originally booked at Ritz but I changed that after having a gut feeling our family would not get the same welcoming service and friendly feel as Windsong and I am glad I changed my reservation to Windsong for July 2025. From the check-in run by Annette and Butler service of Garey that provided so many exciting excursions we will never forget. Then there is the food and beverage staff from Alicia, Samuel, Marcson and our friend since 2021 Omar! I know I am leaving out so many friendly staff members but this is the best place and likely more family friendly than the others down Grace Bay! Can't wait to see everyone again in February.

Penthouse perfection!

What a beautiful and quaint resort! We were treated so wonderfully with the most excellent hospitality and care from Daishca and Alejandra. Whenever we had a tech issue (often user issues) they would call Carlitos and he was on it asap and always with a smile! The beach staff was so fun, and helpful too! Making sure we had what we needed for the day and helping us plan a boat outing too. You can’t beat the location right on the beach and reef! Our room was beyond spectacular in the penthouse suite! Whether there are just two people or more there are other rooms that can adjoin into your own vast living area with all the amenities, and separate sleeping quarters. The rooftop party spot had a jacuzzi, grill to cook dinner with the best view, along with cozy lounges, couch, umbrella and extended table to eat at. It was hard to leave and were so grateful for the hospitality and sharing your beautiful island with us! Pics are from each Lanai in the room (3)

A Magical Family Getaway – We’re Already Planning Our Return!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Our family had a truly unforgettable stay at Alexandra Resort in Turks and Caicos, and we’re already talking about coming back next year! From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. When we had a brief misunderstanding with one of the roaming vendors on the public beach just outside the resort, management stepped in quickly and handled the situation with professionalism and care. Their responsiveness gave us so much peace of mind. Our room was modern, beautifully updated, and had a partial ocean view from our second-floor balcony—such a treat to wake up to! The fridge was generously stocked with a variety of beverages and bottled water, a thoughtful touch that made settling in even easier. The food across all the restaurants exceeded our expectations. Everything was expertly prepared and plated, with portion sizes in line with the upscale, chef-driven dining experience. There were plenty of delicious options for kids and picky eaters, which made meals a breeze for our family. Evenings were made more special with nightly entertainment that was not only fun but thoughtfully kid-friendly and well-organized. Our children especially adored the Play Pals program—Ayijsha and Angeline were exceptional caregivers who kept the kids engaged with creative activities (and even ice cream outings!). Our kids asked to go back every single day and named it the #1 highlight of their trip, just ahead of the amazing beach and pool. My husband took full advantage of the Hobie Cat, going out on the water multiple times each day—it was a personal highlight for him. We also spent a full day at Alexandra’s sister resort, Blue Haven, and were so impressed by the elevated ambiance. The food and drinks there were equally fantastic, and our dinner at Fire & Ice was a standout. The service was outstanding, and each dish was cooked to order and beautifully presented. Sipping cocktails by the fire pits, overlooking the yachts in the marina, was pure vacation bliss. Alexandra Resort gave us the perfect balance of luxury, family-friendly amenities, and authentic island charm. We left relaxed, happy, and already looking forward to our next stay. Highly recommend! 🌴✨

Frustrating Stay – Poor Service and Broken Amenities

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We booked this hotel specifically because it advertised features that seemed perfect for a family stay, but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most frustrating travel experiences we’ve had. On the first night, the shower in our room broke and completely flooded the space - bathroom, bedroom and into the laundry and living area. With two young kids in tow, we were forced to move to another room for the night. The next day, we were told to move back to the original room—even though no one had confirmed whether the shower had actually been fixed. To top it off, the receptionist told me to follow up with the plumber. That level of service is just unacceptable. We received $100 resort credit (and apparently a bottle of wine hidden in the fridge – we don’t even drink) for this inconvenience which didn’t seem enough compensation for the stress. Another major reason we chose this hotel was because it offered a washer and dryer—something really important when traveling with kids. Unfortunately, the dryer didn’t work properly and left our clothes damp even after multiple cycles. So much for convenience. The hotel restaurant was no better. We ordered food by the pool, waited a long time, and it never came. We had to ask about it several times, only to eventually pick up our food ourselves at the counter. There was no apology, just poor attitudes. Aside from the Dune’s wait staff, everyone else seemed bothered when we ordered or asked for anything. After speaking to other hotel guests, we were not the only ones who felt the hotel staff always seemed bothered by any requests. Lastly, the beach chairs were always picked up starting at 5pm, making us feel rushed out of the beach. Unfortunately this is not a hotel that I would recommend to family and friends.
