Reviews for Galapagos Safari Camp
This is the perfect place to see the Galapagos from land if staying on a boat is not your thing. Being in this ecofriendly resort makes you feel like you are one with nature (but with electricity of course!) The day excursions are all planned really well - we had fun AND learned a lot. Food was delicious. My family had an amazing time.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The tents are the same as you find in Africa, complete with duvets, slippers, bath robes, glass shower, blow dryer, portable heater, and flashlight. There was even a kettle in the room with packets of tea, coffee, etc. Katrien and her team make you feel very welcome and go out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. For example, when we arrived, they had a few activity suggestions for us. And after discussing our previous excursions (elsewhere in Galapagos) and our interests with our guide (Steve) he recommended the perfect tour - visiting a 2nd turtle reserve. The tortoises were plentiful and the reserve had the greenest foliage yet - perfect for photos and us. The food was incredible. At our first lunch, we had a demonstration with the chef showing us how to prepare ceviche. After our first dinner, the same chef came out to solicit feedback on our lovely 4-course meal. She inquired on taste, portion size, and visual appeal. She wanted to ensure we had an excellent experience.

After a week of discovering the Galapagos by small boat we were pleased to be on dry land and enjoyed several nights here. Our guide - Sandie, was superb taking us to the giant tortoise centre and the Darwin Centre along with several stop offs to walk in the hillside. Our tent was set on a steep slope quite a distant from the main building which became slightly tiresome and I also found it irksome that we were recommended not to walk anywhere in the National Park without a guide. Good but not fantastic
I stayed 6 nights at Galapagos Safari Camp and had a great time there. The camp is in the highland of Santa Cruz, surrounded by nature. It's perfect when you look for a quiet place. The view of the landscape and the sea and other islands in the distance is beautiful. On two nights I had a clear sky at night. Sitting on the terrace of my tent and watching the stars was amazing! The tent was very comfortable. I especially liked the hot water bottle in bed very much (there is also a fan heater for chilly nights). The food was great. The service and the hospitality was wonderful. When I returned a bit seasick from one boat-excursion, they were really sweet and extra-caring. The Camp was the perfect alternative to a cruise for me. I really liked returning from excursions each afternoon, enjoying the quiet relaxing atmospere in the camp after the excitements of the day.

I stayed here for 4 nights and wished I could have stayed longer. The staff were fantastic, the food was spectacular and the attention to detail was amazing. The planned activities during my 5 day/4 night stay were great and my interests were fully met. This was the first time in all my travels that I received a questionnaire in advance which asked me my preferences about level of physical activity, type of guide, and key interests while I was there. This information was used to customize my activities specifically to me! Can't say enough good things about the experience. Here are some examples of the "little things" that the staff did: - Staff noticed that I didn't finish 100% of each of the courses during meals. When asked, I explained that there were 4 courses each meal and it was great food but it was too much in total. So staff reduced my serving sizes in future meals. - I was the only guest at the camp for part of my stay (there are only 9 tents), so breakfast one morning was a small buffet arranged around my seat at the table, looking out upon the stunning views. - One guest indicated she liked fresh milk in her coffee in the tent in the morning (instead of the provided powdered creamer), staff arranged to drop off a thermos of warm milk at 6 am each morning for interested guests so they could have warm milk in their first coffee of the day Highly recommended.
