We stayed here for three nights while visiting las cataratas de Iguazu. We rarely choose resort accommodations, usually preferring boutique hotels or AirBnb. But we had a lovely time at Iguazu Grand and would certainly stay here again. We booked a suite (we are a couple traveling with a three year old) and stayed the first night in an enormous room on the first floor, near the spa. But there was noise- like rumbling/ humming from a generator, and plumbing valves opening and closing- and my husband slept terribly. We asked the next morning if something could be done, and were rebooked into a room on the third floor. NO NOISE! A bit smaller, but in a way that made our surroundings cosy and nicer than the first room. The staff was gracious in making this change. We ate breakfast at the hotel (included) all three days. It was a delicious buffet with everything imaginable, including a nice selection of gluten-free baked goods. We ate in the Lobby Lounge one evening, and had drinks another. The restaurant hospitality/ service wasn't the friendliest or most attentive. We swam in the pools- the "water circuit" it's called, mimicking las cataratas with waterfalls and three pools of varying depths. The pools and garden surroundings are really lovely. One evening we saw someone from the parrilla gathering herbs and flowers for dinner. I spent a couple of hours reading and napping in a hammock one afternoon. Bliss. The resort itself is just the slightest but shabby and the public areas a bit dated (though the rooms have been updated); and some of the air vents could use wiping down with a bleached rag, but it's the kind of place one wants to see last for decades to achieve the Old World grandeur it is capable of. We stayed Monday-Thursday and when we arrived the place was so quiet, almost sad. But by the time we left, conference groups were checking in, and more families had arrived, and all seemed brighter. We were a bit sad to leave...

The staff at this hotel are very friendly, and the hotel though dated, is very stylish and comfortable. The room sizes are very large, and there is plenty to do in the hotel should you wish to. The Hotel arranged a car to the Iguazu water falls, which is spectacular, they were quite a ride away, but the rain forest scenery on the way was wonderful. Within the hotel gardens, many wild birds of every type imaginable. The bar has friendly trilingual staff (Portuguese, Spanish and English), and next door is a casino which was quite fun. Very close to the hotel is the town, and you can find some good restaurants there. The hotel recommended two, which were both quite good. The only downside was breakfast, it seemed the staff could not cope as food kept running out, along with coffee. When i did get some, it was good quality, but the service and the speed, let the whole thing down. Great time had, and would recommend this hotel.

Two nights in this very nice resort-style hotel. Large and comfortable room (mini-suite), very large bathroom with double sinks and two closets. Beautifully landscaped grounds with a triple pool. Good breakfast buffet, excellent restaurants including a separate bbq/grill facility. Did not visit the casino however did hear some late night/early morning corridor noise from returning guests. Falls well worth the visit (although quite crowded in some areas).

Everything was fine in the hotel. Especially we liked the room, the Spa and the restaurants. In the casino we had problem communicating since we don't speak Spanish and they don't speak English. Andrew Ilin (

My husband and I along with another couple stayed at this resort the two nights following a two-week cruise around South America. We had all wanted to see Iguazu Falls and used the Grand Resort as our base. The resort is located near Puerto Iguazu, the small town that sits about 20 minutes from the actual National Park. We were glad that we had chosen not to stay in the park as this hotel has dining options but is also close enough to let you walk into town to see the river and have a selection of other restaurants and cafes. The included breakfast has plenty of options to suit most tastes. We only ate once in the restaurant for lunch but the food was good and we thought reasonably priced considering it was a hotel. We were actually sorry not to have enough nights to spend one night trying out the other lovely looking restaurant that sits in the gardens. The swimming pool area is beautiful and our only regret is that we were only here for 2 nights. My husband and I agreed that three or four nights would actually be optimal. It took one full day to see the majority of the park and we spent 1/2 day looking around the town of Iguazu and going down to the river where you can see three countries, Brazil, Paraguay and of course Argentina. There are however other things to do in the area and it would have been nice to explore further. There are several wine stores within easy walking distance of the hotel allowing you to pick up a bottle of wine or two to enjoy in your hotel room. The hotel has an in-house travel agency which assisted us in booking tickets for the boat ride within the park (highly recommended) and was also able to assist us in arranging transport to and from the park which was done relatively economically through a private car. While we did not spend too much time in our room, it was well-appointed, clean and very comfortable. The room also had a good-sized, spacious bathroom.
