Reviews for Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa

Garza Blanca tops the list

Garza Blanca has now topped the charts for our favorite all-inclusive resort in Mexico! We have been traveling to Mexico for 12+ years and between the spectacular views & sunsets, amazing food at every restaurant, top notch service that was a step above any other resort, ability to swim in the ocean, multiple pools overlooking the ocean, the extra activities, and all the personal touches everyone showed us made it the best week of vacation! Salvador made us feel like family for a week, taking notice of what we needed before we did & sharing stories. Mike & Tito were fun to hike with to the waterfall (wear water shoes) & our kids loved some of the little activities like playing cards & making ceviche they offered. Rod always checked in on us at the pool with a big smile and was super kind. We enjoyed kayaking & snorkeling with Ronny & Sergio leading the way. It was the first time our tween/teen boys snorkeled & my husband & I agreed that we saw more fish in PV, including a turtle & sting ray, than we did in Hawaii. I would highly recommend it, and it’s free! The food at all-inclusives have never really been that great in our experience, but boy did Garza Blanca prove that wrong. From breakfast at Bocados looking out at the ocean to lunch by the pool to all the delicious dinners, we felt the chefs did amazing. There were so many special touches that felt hand-crafted. Our favorite dinners included steaks at Bocados with Ricardo. He hand-crafted Cesar salads & Mexican hot chocolate for us and made us feel special. Bocados steak house could rival some of our favorite steakhouses in Denver. It really felt we were at a 5star steakhouse & not an all-inclusive. My husband & I also enjoyed a date night dinner at Dao (adults only). My husband said it was the best General Taos chicken he’s had. We also loved the beef gyoza, crab wontons, chefs noodles with pork & green tea brûlée! Adriana was spot on with her suggestions. And lastly our dinners with Jose at Blanca Blue had our favorite roasted corn soup, table-made guacamole, pastor melted cheese, short ribs, salmon & so much more. We were so impressed by the service we received we have to return.

Not up to par with other Garza Blanca’s, avoid until construction is over.

We just returned from Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta. We’ve stayed at Mousai and Garza Blanca Cancun before, and in our opinion this property didn’t compare. Check-in & room assignment:
I booked Oceanfront rooms for both my dad and us so we’d be close to the beach/pool. At check-in, we were told my dad was placed up in a hillside tower. Since we’d requested to be near him, they moved us there too and called it an “upgrade.” With a two-year-old, needing the trolley for everything wasn’t ideal, and it defeated the purpose of paying for oceanfront access. Construction/noise:
There is major ongoing work. A tractor ran on the beach all day, every day moving rocks. From our high hillside balcony it was incredibly loud—can’t imagine the rooms right on the water. I saw no notice of construction when booking. As a travel advisor, I always check for this; there should be clear disclosure during this period. I made a video to post here the noise from the room but it will not let me add it. Concierge & service:
Pre-arrival concierge was excellent—fast replies and great dinner reservations. On-site concierge was not helpful.
On the plus side, pool and restaurant staff were fantastic—the highlight of the stay. The steakhouse was amazing; we ate there twice. The staff at the shops and the carousel were also excellent. Bottom line:
Until construction wraps, I’d wait to visit this property or confirm noise levels and room locations in writing. We love the brand, but this stay didn’t meet the standard we’ve experienced at Mousai and Garza Blanca Cancun.

Misleading sales pressure at check-in — unacceptable for a five-star resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

I stayed at Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa in puerto vallarta – All Inclusive from October 4–6, 2025. I chose this resort expecting world-class service and a relaxing start to our family vacation — but what happened during check-in was completely opposite to that. Right after we arrived, the concierge named G***** began explaining restaurant options and resort amenities, which was fine at first. Then, unexpectedly, she shifted to promoting what sounded like a timeshare-style sales presentation, insisting that our family must attend a “special breakfast session.” When I politely declined, she claimed that our reservation was made under a special Expedia promotional rate that required attendance at that event. That statement was completely false. Our booking was through Trip.com, with no such condition or promotion. When I showed her my booking confirmation, she reluctantly admitted it “might be an error,” but immediately ended the conversation and told us to handle dinner reservations by ourselves. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional experience, especially right after arrival. We went to the front desk, but they seemed unsure what to do. Thankfully, another concierge named J****** later helped us kindly and resolved our dinner booking. The issue is not a minor misunderstanding — it’s about trust and integrity. Pressuring guests with false information about their booking is deceptive and completely unacceptable at a resort that promotes itself as luxury. To make matters worse, the management’s follow-up was a generic “thank-you” email, without any mention of the complaint, apology, or corrective action. This left us with the impression that the resort management prefers to ignore legitimate guest concerns rather than addressing them. Still, Garza Blanca’s management never apologized or took accountability, which is truly disappointing. For a resort of this class, honesty, transparency, and guest respect should come first — not aggressive marketing tactics disguised as “concierge service.” I sincerely hope TAFER Resorts takes this feedback seriously and ensures that future guests are treated with honesty and professionalism.

Very relaxing and very attentive staff.

Great place to relax with excellent service, great views and wonderful food. We had a few days with friends and we’re treated so well. From Joel at the front door guiding and welcoming to wait staff like Jaime, Mario in the Blanca Blue to Umberto, Tony and Tito by the pools. So attentive and polite! The staff preparing meals really deserve recognition as everything was delicious and well presented. The suite was ample and clean and well appointed. The pools and gym were clean and welcoming. We especially enjoyed the bacado steakhouse for an amazing meal with creative drinks. The only reason I can’t give 5 stars was the check in process which took hours for some reason even checking in after 4 pm. We would like to go back when the growth is complete.
