Reviews for Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa

Beautiful Resort with Beach Front Construction All Day

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 12 hours ago

The Garza Blanca in Puerto Vallarta has so many positives yet they can ruin your vacation with their on going beach construction project that literally rocks the beach front quite loudly all day long! Let me be clear that the property is lush and beautiful and the staff service is simply outstanding in the restaurants and at poolside. The servers were very friendly and helpful however be watchful about buying into the "all inclusive" dining ($155/person) especially if you have young children. There are 5 restaurants onsite but only 2 that allow kids under 16 years old (Bocados Steakhouse and Blanca Blue Mexican Restaurant). You cannot dine at the Japanese, Chinese or Italian restaurants with the all inclusive package if you have young kids. We were part of a wedding for two nights so it didn't affect us too badly as we only needed dining for 2 - 3 nights. Also, don't believe the need to "book early" for dinner reservations. There are plenty of tables available however I was duped into buying bottles of wine in order to ensure my dinner reservation at Bocados by the restaurant's assistant manager. She told me that she could only ensure us a table if we "pre purchased" 2 bottles of wine ($200). We were there for our first night and all of the online reservations were "sold out". When we arrived, only a few tables were filled and the restaurant never completely filled up. Your best bet is to reserve through the concierge or go to the reservation desk at the different locations in person. Don't trust the online reserve system or any special "buy ins" to get a table! For recreation there is a kayak tour that goes out every morning at 8AM from the beach with snorkeling and there are water aerobic classes at the pool. We opted to use the pool up at the towers (4 & 5) since the main pool near the beach was crowded and the construction noise was simply terrible and annoying. You can travel all around the grounds on their wooden trolley which is convenient and picks up at several stops on the grounds. There is also an exquisite carousel and gelato ice cream shop at the Terra Luna Gardens that we brought the kids to for a special treat. This is my first and last visit to the Garza Blanca as there were too many restrictions for families and to be quite honest, the owner Fernando Gonzalez Corona should pay more attention to these reviews and fix these issues to be more family friendly if you expect return visitors. Please don't send back a canned response!

Great place!!

Excellent, beautiful property! We stayed for a week with 5 people total (2 were teens) 1. This is a timeshare resort. They try to tell you it isnt, but it is. You can kindly decline the 75 minute presentation you're offered in exchange for a discount card. They question you & continue to try but I kindly said no every time. 2. Bring good quality full coverage water shoes for the beach. The beach is rocky & the water had big, sharp rocks as well as sea urchins under where you couldn't see. We were scuffed up a few times from the rocks. 3. They will call a taxi for you & will only wait a couple minutes at most to leave the resort. Don't be afraid to leave the resort & see the beauty & fun PV had to offer! We left every day & never felt unsafe. 4. We opted out of all inclusive because we wanted local food & for $155 per person per day the cost was a bit more than I wanted to spend. I booked through Costco so I did have resort credit (we used for beachside dinner) & free breakfast buffet (which was excellent!) With lots of great food selections. 5. They do have locals at the beach walking daily trying to sell you bracelets, hats, clothes etc. They take no easily for an answer. 6. To get around thr property they have trolley service that runs every 15 minutes. 7. We stayed in the junior panoramic suite. Most beautiful room I've every stayed in & it was huge. My teens asked if "were were rich" lol! 8. They have activities you can do everyday. We hiked the waterfall & loved it!! This place was immaculate, beautiful & friendly staff. We ordered room service one evening (i have a sesame allergy) & the woman on the phone triple checked what item I was eating & also changed the bun on the burgers my kids ordered from sesame to regular to accommodate for my allergy. The food arrived quickly & was very good! All inclusive good isn't always the best on some resorts but this one was fantastic! We also had the same server outside more than once & he was so personable & great!! He stayed & talked to us about any & everything. He was wonderful! Thank you Roberto Gallardo!! I will definitely recommend this place to anyone AND will definitely book another trip here!!

The Butler service is SECOND to NONE!!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We had wonderful time at Garza Blanca. Accommodations and food were outstanding. But best of all was the service we received while there. Everyone was very accommodating, professional and went above and beyond. Of particular note: we had the privilege of having Butler service. Led by Roberto, he had a team including Filpe, Zuno, and Jose. We are so pleased with their service. They pampered us at every corner. They took care of every need we had no matter how small. WE could not be more excited to write this review! Try them, you won't be disappointed. We cannot wait to get back!

Very rocky beach under construction and very noisy rooms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We arrived yesterday and booked an ocean front room with two queen beds for two adults and two kids (2402 B). Check in was horrible. There were three families ahead of us and they stayed there for almost an hour. They asked one million questions and check in staff were showing them a video of other rooms if they want an upgrade. There is no AC in the lobby so it was very unpleasant waiting to check in. They pretended that they did not see us waiting for the check in after a long flight. Finally we got our bedroom with only two chairs on the balcony although I asked for four chairs. Right behind our building is HWY with very loud traffic! The beach was my biggest disappointment. All day long trucks and cranes are moving the rocks making a horrible noise. There is an area just for the residents and we couldn’t use these lounge chairs but very close to that area one Mexican family had fun listening to their boom box and they brought their own umbrella (see a photo). My son stays with his family at tower 4 in very nice two bedroom apartment with gorgeous view. This morning they were awaken at 8 AM by the construction workers and machinery. Positive: food is excellent and the waiters are nice and friendly but we did not come to Mexico just for food.

Amazing

We stayed at Hotel Mousai which is part of Garza Blanca. Our favorite breakfast spot was at Blanca Blue. They had a large selection of authentic mexican food. The customer service was top notch. I want to give a special shout out to Mario, Ronaldo, and Jorge and the host Emily for the quality of service. They were quick go seat us. They always brought a purse holder before I even had the chance to sit. They were quick to refill our drinks. And they surprised us with a special dessert on our last day. We look forwaed to returning. The staff on the north tower at Hotel Mousai was exceptional. I recommend 100%. They are hard working, and dedicated and deserved every penny!
