Reviews for Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa

SANCTUARY REVIEW

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

We have been staying at Garza Blanca/Hotel Mousai for years. We keep coming back to Garza PV year after year because it is a wonderful place to stay for both families and couples. Garza Cabo is great as well, but the PV location is unmatched. This was our first time staying at the Sanctuary Tower. At the time of our stay the tower was complete but there were areas (poolside Peruvian restaurant) that were not open. Check In: We normally check in at the beachfront area but Sanctuary has its own check in at the tower and this was a wonderful change. It was nice to check into the tower we were staying at and the process appeared faster than ususal. Lobby/Tower: The tower/lobby itself is beautifully appointed and stylish. We were there during the world cup and the sports bar was a great place to watch the games and enjoy delicous cocktails. The bartenders and servers were so welcoming and kind. Penthouse: We had reserved two penthouses. We have stayed at the Garza Penthouse before and they couldn't be more different. The penthouse at Garza is a true showpiece with an enormous living area; the room screams grandeur. The Sanctuary penthouse is really just one VERY nice suite with a connecting room. The Garza penthouse allows you to have everyone gather in the living room and balcony area to enjoy together, whether you are dining or relaxing. The Sanctuary penthouse has a small sitting area but the bed is right behind a room divider that doesn't provide privacy for the person who is trying to rest. The Sanctuary room is new and stunning but if you are traveling with family, I would recommend just getting your own suites and not paying the "penthouse" price because it doesn't provide the same amenities or space for the money. Housekeeping: Gaby and Carmen were wonderful and our room was well taken care of. Pool: While the pool is lovely, I have to say it was a dissapointment. Since this tower is geared towards families, we thought the Garza design team would have taken the opportunity to design a pool to please kids, perhaps a lazy river? There was construction at the pool restaurant so it didn't help the situation. EVERYTHING ELSE: Per ususal everything else at the resort was wonderful. We loved our daily breakfast at Blanca Blue, lunch poolside was delicous and the pool servers are amazing. I am sorry I can't recall everyones name. Our dinners at Bocados, Hiroshi and Karuma were delicious. Our visit to the spa was once again a much needed treat. There were a few issues here and there but they were minor and not anything that will prevent us from returning to this amazing location.

Absolutely Wonderful stay in all ways!

Garza Blanca resort and staff were all wonderful! See my detailed review on Yelp also. I really want to give special recognition to our consierge, Modesta. She took great care of us. Also, Rafeal who led us in an amazing hike, keeping us all safe as he led us thru a jungle type area to the most beautiful swimming hole. He also taught some of the exercise classes, but was good about checking in and saying hello everytime he saw us. Also, there was Roberto who took such good care of us at the pool every day. He was always so friendly and so efficient! I would highly recommend this place! We’ll definitely be back! Again, please read my review on Yelp also!

Two thumbs up!

My husband and I recently returned from a 7 day vacation at Garza Blanca Preserve in Puerto Vallarta. This was our 4th time at the resort and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The grounds/gardens, the beach, pools, rooms and towers are all immaculately maintained. The food is top notch at all of the restaurants, as well as the service. Enrique at Noi, Edward at Doa, Antonio beachside, Hurma at Hiroshi, Bartolo, Daniel and his partner at Blanca Blue in the bar, and all of the people at the sports bar. I apologize for those I did not mention. The people who work at Garza Blanca are all amazing and I truly believe they are the reason why this place is so special. Special shout out to Javier at the beach. He always made sure I was “Happy Happy.” All in all, this was an amazing trip. Looking forward to our next visit.

Changes that need to be made!

So let me start by saying I’m a 4 star elite member. I’ve paid tens of thousands dollars to obtain my status as an elite 4 star elite member. I checked in today and was surprised at how much this place has grown. It’s honestly very hard to get reservations to stay at the puerta Vallarta resort because you usually have to make reservations almost a year out. So initially I was very pleased to see this location grow with hopes it will be easier to visit the resort in the future (this was the initial resort we signed up with). Everything was going great. Check in was easy. Our concierge (Zuno) was great, friendly, and very hospitable. Well when we checked in they said they would make reservations for dinner for us at the spot we requested…. And this is where it all went wrong…. My family (of 6) got all dressed up and ready for dinner. All of us starving after a long day of traveling. While walking to the restaurant we were advised not only was our reservations not made, but the only 3 family restaurants at the locations have no availability for the rest of the night. So it was explained to me, 3 restaurants are all ages and 3 restaurants are only for adults. Well this doesn’t work well for me considering we have a 1year old and can’t just leave him… and 2 of the other family members are under 18. We were told we could pay an extra $45/person on top of the $155 all inclusive we already paid, just to eat at their exclusive restaurant or order in room service (which is included)… this is beyond unacceptable. Even if we made reservations a week before we came, that means there’s a family staying here that would not get to eat and be stuck in the same position we are in, ordering room service. My suggestion to management: make some of the adult only restaurants available to families, especially if there is space… if there is not enough space, don’t over book stays that the resort cannot accommodate… this is truly the worst experience as a member since 2018 and we will not be doing any upgrades or membership tours any time soon. In years past we have only hyped Garza Blanca to all our family and friends. After this trip… I’ll have to explain what happened to us. To anyone looking to stay here in the future, beware you may not get a nice dinner and will either be up charged or have to order room service.

Excellent resort, expensive but worth it

It has been a great stay, service is awesome, second to none. Amenities and quality overall is very impressive, definitely coming back again. If you are a beach lover, sand has lots of rock, but you have more than enough with the pools.
