Reviews for Luxury Residences at Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa
Everything and everybody were wonderful except the awful cockroaches, roaches and ants in our otherwise very lovely room. We spent valuable vacation time killing pests in our room. Never knew what to expect when turning on the lights at night to go to the restroom. Told management day 1 upon check in and they sent maintenance with a hand held syringe to address the ant problem. Night 1 we discovered a live cockroach in our iron. We requested a full room spraying. In room BUGS can be controlled with a regular exterminating schedule. Please Spray For BUGS prior to guest arrival not after their WOW experience is ruined.

Staff member lied about ingredients in a drink after my friend Aileen Fritz said she was allergic to all berries. They said there were no berries in the drink. The results of her drinking it were a hospital stay to save her life, IV meds, many injections, thousands of dollars in medical bills and getting hung up on and ignored by this establishment. She has been encouraged to pursue legal action since they knowingly served her something that could have killed her. We still don't know if she'll be ok but they refuse to communicate with those trying to reach out to them as they should take responsibility for her medical bills. Not to mention the trip was ruined. Don't ever stay there!!!
This is a beautiful resort. The staff was friendly. The spa is one of the nicest spas I’ve seen (Don’t miss the hydrotherapy treatments.). There were some disappointments that put a damper on an otherwise great stay. First, the sales people for their timeshares were EVERYWHERE. We declined the timeshare presentation at the beginning of the trip, but were certainly reminded of it throughout the remainder of our stay. Every drink or meal you order, they ask if you have the 15% discount card that was offered with the timeshare presentation. We went to the Japanese restaurant, and because my husband was wearing sandals, we were only allowed to sit at the bar outside of the restaurant (hello, this is Mexico. No sandals???). However, moments later, one of the timeshare owners was allowed in the restaurant wearing flip flops. The nicest tables in the restaurants are reserved for timeshare owners (and the tables sat empty). It’s not like we didn’t pay a significant amount of money to stay at their resort. Another disappointment is the $10 per day, per device charge for WiFi. This just makes the hotel seem cheap. Some simple changes from management could make this resort 5 stars. Right now, it is not.

I gave management an opportunity to address my concerns prior to writing the review, but they demonstrated the only consistent trait they have, lack of care for their guests. The resort is pretty and overall the staff was good. I did have some pretty large areas of challenges from the resort. First, we had dinner at Hirochi at Hotel Mousai and had a very long piece of hair in our food which was disgusting, especially for a sushi restaurant. I am still surprised that something like that happened in a restaurant of that caliber. Moreover, it was more annoying because I received full spa treatment at Mousai and was told my husband and I could spend the day at the rooftop because it was our anniversary. However, we were not allowed up and told we could not use our all inclusive privileges, yet I still came back to support the hotel and during dinner had to deal with something as disgusting as a hair in our food. Second, the cleaning service was awful. In fact, one day they simply just did not come to clean and the other days the service was very poor. It does not matter how nice the room is if it is not kept clean it does not matter. Finally, the check in and check out service was quite disorganized in terms of informing us that things were settled when they were not. For the resort to hold itself as a five star resort, you cannot have things such as hair in food at the the nicest restaurant, its simply unacceptable. It makes me quite nervous to have something like that occur in any restaurant, but especially a sushi restaurant. Finally, the general manager of the hotel was not available and did not answer any of my emails prior to my arrival. That in itself is a disappointment. With my experience and involvement with various luxury hotels around the world, I am shocked that the general manager would not give me the courtesy in even making contact especially when I chose to spend two important occasions at the hotel. Puerto Vallarta is a great place with fantastic hotels, such as the Velas properties. Stay there instead.

We came for a wedding and this resort is absolutely gorgeous! The staff was very friendly and helpful; the room was an amazing honeymoon suite with a beach view, and the restaurants were awesome! Definitely check out the steak house! The price we paid for the all-inclusive package was 10000% worth it! I would absolutely love to come back!
