Incredible food and service. The closest thing to being in Italy yet in the Caribbean. Run here and don’t think twice. You won’t regret it

When I was single, i was fine with blasé food and so so service in the Caribbean. Came to Carribean for the beach, the vibe, and the bachelor life! Without embellishment, I'm now married to a goddess, and we have three gorgeous daughters (ages 1, 3, and 6). My wife and I, before children and as god blessed us with them, have travelled all the over the world at the leading hotels and resorts of the world, the Caribbean was never really a destination for us because my wife has nourished our family to a discriminating standard of our nutrient-dense delicious home cooking. BUT... ...my wife found this little gem called Eden Roc Cap Cana and said we should take a chance over winter break from school in NYC, where our preschool kids have off the entire President's Day Week. Without hesitation, my wife and I would say this is the best vacation of our lives. It wasn't just the Michelin star food at the resort's famed restaurant Mediterraneo, it was La Palapa's Chef Ernesto Rocco's magical memorable sunset impromptu meal on the oceanfront beach with his home made labor intensive spaghetti pomodoro (OMG yes, not just any spaghetti pomodoro, but spaghetti pomodoro that you sing to all your friends and family and everyone around you about the life changing experience when savoring slurping every divine strand), his interpreation of the local Dominican Chicharrón, prepared to exacting Culinary Institute / Cordon Bleu standards. Bravo, Chef Ernesto, you deserve a James Beard award but will have to settle for our Chan Clan gratitude and lifelong memory of our middle daughter's 4-year-old birthday dancing, singing, and eating your food on a magical sunset evening on the beach frolicing in your Eden Roc private ocean waves. And the Service! Concierge Adonis and Melvin were world-class. Our family felt like billionaires being catered to by private butlers if we actually had all the money in the world (which we don't!) and could hire the best of the best. Our every single crazy demand, a family with 3 young children and exacting and parents was met instantly, with enthusiastic smiles and perfectly. And the massages! I am rather athletic, and I have come to expect that no hotel can provide a proper sports massage. I was proven wrong. Pilar at the Spa had hands of Thor, and after her massage, i actually felt the blood rejuvenating my entire body as the hands of time turned back, and i was 25 years younger. The team here is astonishing. The Italian chefs assembled are best-in-class and it shows it the level of food quality that they do here at Eden Roc and the meticulous care their chefs take to prepare it. Bravo to the hotel Manager Rafael Rodriguez Vara and Stefano Baratelli. It is a credit to them because it is impossible to have such an amazing staff . Excellence tricles down from from the top. Here is my only suggetion. The owners, whoever you are, of Eden Roc, please step up and try to match the exception quality of Rafael and Stefano and match their world glass management skill and continue to pour in your capital and back them with a world class spa facility that complements your managment's greatness. A family whose daughter is classmates of ours, by fate, booked the same dates at the neighboring St. Regis. It is a large massive brand new billion dollar resort just completed. They came to us at Eden Roc because it's just better here. A billion $ does not guarantee an elevated experience. It's must be cultivated, nutured as Rafael and Stefano and Chef Ernesto and their team of Adonis' and Melvin's and army of staff have done here at Eden Roc. Many well wishes and luv from our Chan Clan family, whom you have all made so happy.

The Eden Roc is a beautiful property. Old world charm, not a glitzy show. Distinctly different from the new St. Regis. We preferred Eden Roc. We were assigned a concierge,Abby Absar, who was attentive to our needs. We were upgraded from a 1 bedroom suite to a large 1 bedroom villa (perhaps due to Amex Platinum). The villas are a 3 minute ride by golf cart. Each villa has a golf cart for your use. There are 3 restaurants which were all good but Mediterraneo is the best for food and service. Special thanks to Giovanni Manzilli, head sommelier, who always had excellent advice on wine. And, the negronis and blue cheese martinis were a big hit. Strongly recommend the Eden Roc at Cap Cana.

My wife and I spent 5 days and 4 nights at Eden Roc Cap Cana and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. Everything was amazing from top to bottom. First, we had book a luxury pool junior suite and were upgraded to a one bedroom. The room was huge and beautifully appointed. Massive bathroom area, indoor and outdoor shower, tub, his and her sinks and a large walk in closet. The pool area had a gazebo with a sofa and chairs, a separate table and chairs area and also a double lounge chair section. We were given a golf cart for our use throughout our stay to get from our “home” to the rest of the resort. We were also assigned a butler, Junior, for our entire stay. Junior was fantastic. He went above and beyond in all respects. Personable and always smiling, he was a pleasure to work with and was proactive about assisting us. Anything we needed or asked about, Junior was there to help. He literally made our stay worry free and extremely memorable. We cannot thank him enough. The main pool and beach areas are private and gorgeous. Lots of lounge chairs or table. Service on the beach was excellent. The spa was heavenly and tranquil. We are not golfers but course looked amazing. We are kosher travellers and a big draw was the kosher kitchen on premises. Meals are the the Blue Grill restaurant at the resort and the head kosher supervisor (Allan) was friendly and frankly amazing. The menus were varied and the food delicious. We never thought we could go to a resort as beautiful as this and also have such great kosher meals. Steaks, burgers, pizza, sushi, chicken, waffles, pancakes, various salads, tacos, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. We cannot praise the kosher kitchen here enough. Major shout outs to Yonathan who was our hospitality host every night and Yacaira who helped us with our reservations. Also, a shout out to Ivan who taught us about Italian hospitality school. Finally, the rest of the staff were first rate. Friendly, smiling and always willing to assist with anything. Frankly, we felt pampered. All in all, this was a dream vacation for us and we highly recommend Eden Roc Cap Cana as a premier destination in the Caribbean. If you are a kosher traveler, it’s a no-brainer.
