Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana

This was our first time visiting the Dreams resort in Punta Cana. The location is very easy to get to from the airport. The atmosphere is relaxing and safe. We rented 2 Jr suites for our family of 10. The rooms are a big and the beds are comfortable. The rooms were clean and housekeeping was attentive. The resort is in need of an update- the furniture is not functional- we didn't have a lamp in our room. Our shower leaked onto the bathroom floor every time we used it. The best part of this resort is the staff- EVERYONE is friendly and kind. The noise level was not bothersome. It felt safe for our 12 year old to walk from place to place alone. The kids club (Explorer) is great! The staff were very fun and friendly- our children - ages 4-9yrs - really liked it! And it gave the adults time to relax and eat separate meals. The food is fair- lots of variety- but nothing special in the way of tastes. The fresh fruit and veggies were good.

While our room was amazing, and the property beautiful, if you have food allergies DO NOT GO TO THIS RESORT! My husband has Celiac and there was no knowledge or awareness of staff. They do have a dietician, who is lovely & knowledgeable, but one person. She manages all guests with allergies for the whole resort. Even with her help my husband was unknowingly served gluten 3 times. We are already home and he is still suffering. Food safety is non-existent in the kitchen!

We upgraded to the Preferred Club and had fantastic service. The staff was all very friendly. We had exceptionally great service at the preferred pool with the servers Jefrey and Dolores. They were quick, efficient, and went above and beyond.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana. While the employees were genuinely friendly, professional, and did their best to help, the overall experience did not meet the expectations of an all-inclusive resort. The biggest issue was the room. It had a strong moldy smell from the moment we checked in. The staff was very responsive and came to spray the room, which temporarily masked the odor, but the smell kept coming back. I appreciate their efforts, but it never truly resolved the problem. For such a large resort, I also found the buffet surprisingly small with very limited food options. I expected much more variety, especially compared to other resorts in the area. The selection became repetitive very quickly. The quality of the alcohol was another major disappointment. The drinks tasted like they were made with very low-quality liquor, and the margaritas had a medicinal taste that made them almost impossible to enjoy. Ultimately, these issues led me to transfer to the neighboring Secrets resort. The difference was immediately noticeable. The rooms, food, drinks, and overall quality of the experience were far superior. It was well worth making the move. I truly want to recognize the staff at Dreams because they were courteous, attentive, and worked hard to address my concerns. Unfortunately, great employees alone could not make up for the room conditions, limited buffet, and poor beverage quality. Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay at Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana again.

I originally planned to stay at Dreams Resort in Punta Cana for three nights and had already paid for everything. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the room smelled like mold. I called the front desk, and they immediately sent someone to spray air freshener, but that only covered the smell temporarily. The staff was very nice and helpful, so I have no complaints about the service. However, the food was terrible. The buffet had very limited options and was surprisingly small for such a large resort. I was very disappointed with the quality and variety of the food. The quality of alcohol were poor a margarita tasted like medicine. I ended up leaving Dreams and switching to Secrets, the resort next door, where I stayed for an additional three nights. The difference was huge. The food at Secrets was much better, with a wider variety and better quality overall. Unfortunately, based on my experience with the room and the food, I would not stay at Dreams again.
