Cons * We found four baby roaches in our room during our stay. We understand it’s a tropical destination and bugs can happen, but the response from staff was simply, “It happens,” which was disappointing. * There was ongoing construction throughout the resort, and the noise lasted for hours at a time, taking away from the relaxing atmosphere. * Our shower head was broken during our stay. * Once Emmanuel, our butler, finished his shift the day before we left, we were never assigned another concierge, and the level of service noticeably declined. * Housekeeping never serviced our room that day. We had to track down staff for towels and toilet paper and eventually visit the front desk, where the response felt dismissive. * We were told our luggage would be picked up at 8:10 a.m. for our airport departure, but no one ever came. It wasn’t the inconvenience that bothered us—it was the lack of follow-through and concern when we brought it up. * We also experienced constant pressure to attend the “Key” presentation, which felt more like a timeshare sales pitch than a guest experience. It became frustrating and took away from our vacation. Now for the pros. Pros * Emmanuel, our butler, was exceptional. He was attentive, helpful, and went above and beyond by decorating our door with a birthday banner for my daughter and arranging for the live band at dinner to sing “Happy Birthday” to her. * The entertainment team was amazing. Their energy never seemed to run out, and they kept both kids and adults engaged throughout the day. * The beach was beautiful, and the staff did a great job keeping the seaweed under control. * The food was excellent. Portofino was our favorite restaurant for the food, while Seaside Grill had our favorite atmosphere. * The servers were warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Although gratuities are included, exceptional service deserves extra recognition, and they truly appreciated it. * Coco Café was one of our favorite spots, with excellent coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and cookies available 24 hours a day. This was our first stay at a Dreams resort after having such amazing experiences at Secrets Resorts, so our expectations were high. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to those standards. While there were definitely some bright spots—especially thanks to a few incredible staff members—we left feeling disappointed with the overall experience.

M husband and I joined family and friends at the resort to celebrate a 70 th birthday and a handful of high school graduates. Our expectations were exceeded in every way. The resort was kept very clean, the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff was exceptional, especially Wilkin, our poolside waiter. We had a group of 15 and he always greeted us with a smile and was very friendly. The entertainment, activities, and pool games were lots of fun. Pizza making with Pikachu was a fun and memorable experience too. The restaurants and buffets were really good. I would definitely return to this resort!

11 hours of noise per day for 14 days. TUI the tour operator never told us before travelling of the building work taking place. Apart from that mediocre food, mouldy smelly bedrooms. Cleaners that don't clean rooms. Some great staff Communal areas very nice Beach amazing Beach seller's a pain in the backside Bercelis in the world cafe ( main buffet) was just adorable, lovely young lady full of smiles. Franklin C in the main bar was excellent another shining star

We stayed at Dreams Royal Beach for our honeymoon, and overall we had an amazing vacation. From the moment we checked in until the day we left, the staff made this resort stand out. We honestly didn't come across a single employee who didn't seem to enjoy what they were doing. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely wanted guests to have a great experience. The little honeymoon touches throughout our stay made us feel celebrated and were so appreciated. Our concierge also surprised us with a few thoughtful gifts that were incredibly kind and made our trip even more memorable. The swim-up bar was one of our favorite places. The bartenders were absolutely wonderful, kept the drinks flowing, and made every visit fun. Another highlight was the pool stretching nearly the entire length of the property. It never felt overcrowded, and because our room was nearby, it almost felt like having a private pool. The bottle of Gran Añejo waiting in our room was also a very nice touch. A few food recommendations: don't skip the ice cream! It's delicious, and you're never too old to enjoy it every day. We also recommend avoiding Fusion during the dinner rush. The staff was understandably very busy, and service was much less attentive. We gave it another chance on a different evening, and it turned into one of our favorite dinners with a romantic table and exceptional service, so timing really makes a difference. There were a couple of areas that could be improved. We found dead cockroaches in our room, which immediately made us cautious about where we kept our belongings. While this wasn't something we continued to encounter, it wasn't the best first impression. The World Café buffet also didn't quite live up to our expectations. We had previously stayed at Dreams in Puerto Morelos, and the World Café there offered a noticeably better experience. The one at Dreams Royal Beach is good but has room for improvement. Overall, the outstanding staff, beautiful grounds, amazing pools, and the way we were treated throughout our honeymoon far outweighed the few negatives. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely consider returning.

Be aware that the current renovation work on a building is very noisy for preferred customers located in swim up rooms (facing the building under renovation). Renovation work is supposed to continue until October.
