Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana

Overall a very good resort. We stayed in the preferred club section (newer side). We loved the pool there. We found seats every day without issue and the pool was never crowded. The bartenders at the pool bar were excellent. JJ at the lobby bar was awesome - see photo for his special drink! It was delicious! Most dinner restaurants are on the non-preferred side. We took the shuttle there for dinner and it was very easy. If you told them what restaurant you were going to, they would drop you a little closer. We never had to wait even with a group of 10. Portofino and Mercure and Hibachi were pretty good. Not as good as Secrets or Sandals - but it's a different resort and we didn't really expect it to be as good. Breakfast we went to the buffet twice- it was meh. The omelette was OK. Most of the stuff sitting in trays seemed dried out. Fruit was always good, pastries, etc. Two days I just went to the coffee shop and got pastries to eat by the pool. Lunch- we found it annoying there wasn't any food we could just order and eat by the pool on the preferred side. We were told we had to go into the restaurant. However, we learned if we just ordered room service we could just bring the food wherever. We had a pool terrace room, so we would just sit in the pool there until the food came. Mostly we ate pizza or burgers for lunch - which we thought were quite good! Our room was really nice. We started on a pool terrace room which was nice - rooms walk out right to a portion of the main pool. Our party had one of those rooms. Then I upgraded myself to a swim out room which was great! Own cabana. Shared pool with your neighbors but it seemed we were always out there at different times. We did the photo session with our group of 10 - it was very hot. However the photos came out excellent. We ended up buying all of them and this included a video slideshow that they airdropped directly to our phones. The inconvenient part was the photo shop was located at Secrets... far from the lobby. So we took the shuttle to the lobby and had to walk 20 minutes to the main pool to look at our photos.

We just got back from our second stay at Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana, and once again we had an amazing time. We did have an issue with one of our meals, but Laura Jimenez, our Food Concierge, and the rest of the staff handled it incredibly well. They were attentive, accommodating, and really cared about making things right. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but it’s how they’re handled that matters, and they definitely went above and beyond for us. One thing we really appreciated was how friendly everyone was. The staff took the time to get to know us, asked where we were from, and always remembered us when they saw us around the resort. It made the whole experience feel much more personal. Since this was our second visit, we were excited to come back, and we thought the food was even better this time around. Every restaurant we went to was great, and there was always something we looked forward to trying. The resort was clean, well kept, and had a great atmosphere. The club was a lot of fun and always felt safe. The bartenders were easily our favorite part of the trip—they were friendly, funny, always dancing, and made every visit to the bar a good time. The drinks were tasty too. Getting around the resort and to different activities was easy. The transportation was always on time, the shuttles had A/C, and even the rides were enjoyable because the staff kept the energy up. Overall, we had a great experience and are already talking about coming back. A big thank you to Laura Jimenez and everyone at Dreams Royal Beach for making our vacation one to remember.

Really good hotel with good animation team.

Rooms were VERY nice in the preferred area. It was 1/2 a mile to the beach but they usually had golf carts to take us there. They new gym was not done and the old one was not great.

The hotel is one of my favorites in the Dominican! We enjoyed it so much the first time that we brought more family back. The new Preferred area is beautiful and the rooms are great! Rosa with the anticipated wowed us by remembering each and everyone of us. Roberto was our personal concierge and went above and beyond for all of our requests. He even gave us an express check out without us even asking. He lined up reservations at the restaurants for our family of 7, got us a great photographer for family pictures and other small requests that we had. Ambiorix (the beach waiter) was the best! He would make drinks that he did’t know. We googled them, showed the recipes to him and they were spot on!! So much so that we would seek him out!!
