Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana

Got back home a couple days ago. Firstly this was definitely one of the nicest resorts we’ve ever been to. Not sure what capacity the resort was at but you never felt cramped or that it was too busy especially by the preferred pool. We initially booked room 7105 which was a Junior suite pool terrace room in the preferred section however it simply didn’t suit us with our 10 month old who is a light sleeper so we chatted to our butler Michael who sorted us out a move to room 7204 which was a family room which had a separate bedroom which suited us much better. Our 10 month old has severe allergies to most common foods however as a result the staff went above and beyond in catering for him by cooking fillets of salmon, fish or chicken for him for dinner, also by providing ingredients to make our own food in the room. Jenipher the allergy concierge was especially amazing in this area. There was a hiccup one of the nights where they provided a food he reacted to however it was soon sorted so much so they gave us a free cabana one day which was lovely 🥰 We didn’t try the buffet but ate at Portofino most days. Fusion was some of the best food we’ve had at an all inclusive especially the Tepinyaki experience. Seaside grill was very nice as well as the shack serving burgers and hotdogs. The Mexican was a bit hit and miss partly down to the fact there was no AC so was extremely hot. We wasn’t impressed with the French “Mercure” partly as that’s where our son had his reaction but because the menu wasn’t that appealing. The bars were all very good with very generous measures. If you tip the bartenders here and there certain ones will remember you and look after you. Didn’t know there was a turn down service until the second to last day when it was offered so that was very hit and miss. Either offer it every night or don’t at all. What I would say is in other resorts we’ve stayed in the maids would leave chocolates on the bed and slippers on the floor, maybe the occasional rose petals on the bed, just little touches not just changing the towels. The entertainment was a little subdued. The circus and bbq on the beach was the highlight. We went to the entertainment in the main plaza and where on other holidays it would would go on till 11pm and further by 10pm half of the guests had left and things were toned right down but it didn’t really affect us as we went back to the room by 10pm. The grounds are constantly maintained and well kept and all members of staff are very polite and are brilliant with kids. Although there was a bit of sargasm on the beach everyday we was there a tractor was going up and down clearing it all up. Negatives- Most of the resort is buggy friendly however in the old part if you want to walk to the beach you have to walk through all the bottom floor of the buildings to get to the beach unless you want to carry the buggy over bridges, not anything major just not very picturesque. Nearly all of the staff are very friendly and will do anything to help you but we came across some that clearly were after a tip no matter what they did. Took a walk outside the resort however there was nothing around and although didn’t feel unsafe there wasn’t any other tourists walking around like there would be in some places so you stood out like a sore thumb.

Great Hotel ,clean, friendly , responsive. No problem getting sunbeds or queuing for meals but it was a quieter time. The Beach was wonderful apart from the sargassum which was cleared every morning. Service was great.

We decided to visit the Dreams Royal Punta Cana Preferred for our baby moon/ husband’s birthday and what an incredible experience it was! Our check-in process was very smooth and pleasant thanks to Cristy! We were greeted by our concierge Mayker and the manager Jose shortly after checking in. They made sure we had everything we needed and much more during our stay. Mayker would check in on us several times during the day, provided extra room accommodations and went above and beyond by communicating with the rest of the staff about our needs. I was truly pampered by everyone which I appreciate more than they could ever know especially at 7 months pregnant. Special thank you to Carolina who always greeted us with a smile when we went to the restaurants. Waiters from the Preferred side Daily, Raul, and Nelson were the sweetest and kindest! Andreina from the Preferred pool was also beyond amazing! They all anticipated our needs even the ones we didn’t know we needed at the time but were truly welcomed! Lastly, Yarismin from Coco Cafe would always make us the best coffees and best afternoon treats! The most special thank you definitely goes to our Concierge Mayker and Manager Jose for making my husband’s birthday dinner so special and our stay beyond extraordinary. We’ve been to many hotels but this one exceeded our expectations to the point we booked our next trip before we even left the property.

Mayker the butler was great! Also Yueney at the preferred pool made sure our drinks never went dry!!! they were the best!

We had such a great vacation. The resort is beautiful and the employees are amazing!! A few of our favorites are DRB entertainment team London is the greatest and Tupac is fun. Billy concierge Felix night, golf cart driver Martines bar runner Fusion restaurant team, Luis Carlos - omelette man preferred Breakfast favorite-Daily preferred
