I stayed at the Westin (switched last minute from one of the mega-resorts and am so happy I did) for 4 nights with my 6 year old and my mother. I'd recommend this hotel without reservation. The staff is fantastic, hardworking, helpful, approachable. No complaints at all with anyone we encountered. There are lots of amenities including a gift shop where you can find sunscreen, water, gifts etc. An ATM, currency exchange, booking for excursions/tours. Free bottled water is provided daily by Housekeeping which is a nice bonus. June is low season and I loved having the hotel to ourselves. The pool, beach, hammocks, restaurants, beach chairs...all of it was always available to us. No waits, no lines, no crowds. At times we were the only ones at the restaurant or in the pool or whirlpool but the service was always still on point. The Kids Club was an important part of my decision but I really didn't use it much though my daughter had a fun time the couple of times we did. The only thing that they were missing IMHO is a kiddie pool or some water for the kids in the clubhouse area but they take them the beach and pool, so honestly the kids don't miss it. Thank you to Marysabel, Christy and Yaika, the wonderful Kids Club/pool ladies. We loved the pool and spent more time there than at the beach. The beach is really gorgeous despite the seaweed, which the hotel does a great job of clearing every day. Honestly, it's not that bad and we hear that it's not always there but depends on the time of year. When we arrived, a tropical system had been in the area and must've churned up a lot of seaweed. Once you step a couple feet into the warm, turquoise water, all the seagrape-type stuff is behind you and the rest is just beautiful, soft, flowing seagrass growing in various places. The water is incredible. Shallow for what seems to be forever and rarely gets deeper than waist level. There is a beautiful pier where you can do yoga or sit and dangle your feet while watching the fish and just contemplating your existence :) The food was very good and I am picky. I'm from the Caribbean and know flavorful food when I taste it. Not included but we found that it was not a bad value. The breakfast buffet has lots of options including local specialities, smoothies, juices. Really a LOT of food...$20 per adult and $10 for kids. We only had dinner there our first night and it was a lot of food. For 3 people, our meals at the two restaurants usually came out to around $60US before tip. TIP: get the "smaller" sounding options on the lunch menu like a sandwich or soup and yo'll be enjoying a giant portion for around $8US. And that view from the restaurant near the beach is simply priceless and may be one of the best dining vistas I've enjoyed. We took advantage of the free shuttle (please remember to tip!) visited the Ojos Idigenas which is induced in the resort price. Worth it to enjoy a short hike and refreshing dip in the gorgeous natural "pools." We also visited the public beach at Playa Blanca but thought the Westin beach was much better. Puntacana Village is a nice short jaunt away via the shuttle. Recommend La Casita de Yea for local food. I didn't love my conch but it wasn't bad. The Samana-style Fish (chills/red snapper) that my mother had though was so good, I kept picking at her dish! Yummy, huge mojitos. There is a grocery store and other restaurants and shops there in a small, very scrollable area. If you find the lemonade shop, give it a try. We visited Santo Domingo on our last full day and while it was a bit of a trip (1.5 to 2 hours), it was worth it to see the oldest city in the West and all the sights there. Lots of cute little plazas, crafts/souvenir stands and shops. Recommend lunch at Adrian Tropical on the water. The airport is less than 10 minutes away in a taxi, which was so nice for a change for us. $10 fee to enter the country, no charge to depart for most airlines. Lots of paperwork to fill out and the directions aren't always clear but the lines move fast and the personnel really do try to make it efficient to get you to where you're going. Overall, I'd go back to the DR in a second and would absolutely stay at the Westin again. I usually am more of an AirBnB person but I am now seriously thinking about making the Westin my go-to when I travel anywhere.

This property sits within the gated master planned Punta Cana community. It is easily the best non-all-inclusive hotel in the Punta Cana area it is beautifully landscaped sits on a reef-protected beautiful White sandy beach where the depth of the water is approximately 3 to 4 feet deep out to about 100 yards from shore. Pool and garden areas are also beautiful with plenty of shaded seating around the pool. Rooms were very comfortable and all overlooked the pool and garden area and or beach. SPG platinum match thru Marriott Rewards platinum resulted in a room upgrade and free buffet breakfast. Outstanding stay with amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Only area that could use some serious improvement would be the mediocre breakfast buffet.

We'd bought a 4 night stay at the Westin Punta Cana at a local charity auction, not knowing anything about the hotel or destination. One of the BEST and beautiful vacations we've had in a very long time!! The hotel staff were incredible - helpful, friendly, always with smiles. The rooms were clean, pool and beach AMAZING, and the shuttle service within the compound very convenient. Enjoyed eating at La Yola Restaurant (twice!).....our waiter, Fabio, treated us like royalty. Would love to return one day!!!

I recently spent 4 days at the Westin Punta Cana. This resort is amazing! The staff is kind, polite, welcoming and very helpful. The rooms were large, and the beds/linens were very comfortable. The pool area and beach were very nice! We had a terrific time just hanging and relaxing at the beach and pool! The food was also outstanding!

If your're looking for a quick getaway this IS the place. 10 min away from the airport. Clean rooms, friendly staff, AWESOME beach. What could be better? We traveled in the month of May. Perfect timing. Amazing weather and quiet beach. Would go back again and again!
