Reviews for Conrad Punta de Mita

You will be price gouged. Mercilessly.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Beautiful property. Very good service. Unabashed price gouging. You’re stranded on property unless you have a vehicle. Instead of a courtesy car to shuttle guests to town, they charge $24 USD for a ride into Punta de Mita (less than 10 minutes) PLUS another $34 USD to pick you up for a return trip. Want a bottle of water from the gift shop? $6 USD. A latte? $11 USD. Ran out of sunscreen and need more. 200 ml Tropicana spray SPF 50 - $30 USD!! Don’t even get started on the onsite restaurant and bar prices. You may think you’re going on a relatively reasonable Mexican holiday, but you will pay NYC/London prices for everything. Of course you can leave the resort and go into Punta de Mita. It’ll just cost you an additional $60 round trip every time you go. Oh….. and you will want to go into town, not only because it’s charming, but you’ll want access to much better quality and variety of food than it offered at the Conrad. Don’t mean to sound like a hater. I’ve been a Hilton Honors gold member for 20+ years. I’ve stayed in many wonderful Hilton properties - and this Conrad is a beautiful property - it is just an absolute money grab. I actually probably wouldn’t mind if I knew that they were paying all of their staff US comparable wages, but they aren’t. That is highly evident, and echoed by staff who are willing to speak. Hilton is realizing HUGE margins from this property, the staff not so much, and the guests left paying the price. Will definitely not return.

Expired toothpaste

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I stayed for 5 nights from Feb. 11th to 16th. and I started having skin rashes on second night. I did a thorough research and finally figured out that it was the toothpaste that the resort provided had caused my skin rashes because it had expired on Feb. 2023. Please see attached pictures. I called customer service and a doctor came in with a manager. After checking out my skin rashes the doctor OMG shocked me by saying that, quote:”you can still use the toothpaste even it expired three years ago and it won’t cause any health problems”. Unquote. He further said that, quote: “this toothpaste just expired one year ago and I promise you that it’s not the reason for your skin rashes. Your rashes probably caused by the humidity or some foods you ate here” unquote. Really truly ridiculous! This is a high- end resort for distinguished guests. Are you treating us like homeless people by providing expired toothpastes? How about other stuff such as shampoo, conditioners and body wash, etc? How about the food and drink? Do we really deserve a $2-value expired-toothpaste when we pay about $1000 per day? I requested to be sent to a nearby hospital because I didn’t buy his nonsense. But the manager declined my request cruelty and informed me that he’ll report it to his boss and he’ll update me on possible compensation. He further promised to bring another doctor to see me tomorrow morning. I seriously and sincerely reminded the manager that the resort should immediately inform all of guests who had gotten the expired toothpaste to discard their toothpaste and to report any symptoms they may have to the resort. Most importantly, I urged the resort to discard all of the expired toothpastes on stock and investigate who had made such stupid life-threatening mistakes or decisions to put all guests in danger. Unfortunately, nothing has happened before my checking out. Looks like either they didn’t care about it at all or they just intentionally forgot about it. Out of curiosity I asked the front desk lady if Conrad would be willing to do anything for apologizing for my health issues that has been caused by the expired toothpaste before my leaving. She unsurprisingly said no. I requested to talk to her supervisor and guess what the manager said to me? Quote: “What do you want from me? It’s not a big deal. Just skin rashes. We sent you some snacks that night but you didn’t take the offer. What do you want?” Unquote. You know what. Firstly I was shocked by the expired toothpaste, secondly I was shocked by the horrible customer service and thirdly I was shocked by the unprofessional and irresponsible attitude of the managers. I strongly recommend you to think about your plans twice before booking this terrible resort.

Great Place to Stay if you have lots of Money

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

All the positive reviews are accurate. The only downside I experiences was not being prepared for how expensive the food & drinks are as well as tax and resort fees per night. I also had a pair of new pants go missing from my room. I also didn't realize how far of a drive it was from the airport. The town nearby was a nice escape from resort life and we felt safe while there.

Missing items and broken lock of the front door

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Buyers beware of Missing Items!!!! This overratee hotel with a nightly rate of $1600, did not even had a frot or back door lock working. After we noticed items missing, we found out that the door's room is not working, we notified the staff. a maintenance man came and tied t reoair it, however, hotel never bothered to address missing items. staff is less than caring and professional. They take it for granted that people like Mexico no matter what. My experience as a world traveler to over ( 116 countries and counting) was that Mexico was not the same as 15 years ago. This hotel is not even close to a 5 star resort with their riciculous nightly rate in High season. The water of the sea was cold and we were not even able to use the beach with the rain adding to the coldness. A total wasteful vacation.

It's Paradise!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We stayed 2 Jan - 6 Jan 2024 in room 444 and had a magical time! From the moment we walked in we were blown away with the design and decor as well as the wonderful staff! I've forgotten the names of all of our servers, but we ate in all the restaurants and they were all beyond friendly, we felt like family and royalty at the same time. The food was also fantastic at the different restaurants and they have a little of everything, from casual pool bar Paleta to fancy beachside Codex. I do want to mention a few people by name though. Gabriel, the pool manager, was FANTASTIC!!! Whenever he saw us he went out of his way to make sure we we're taken care of, he made us feel like we were the only guests! Manuela was our housekeeper and she was so attentive! She left us origami each day with a little factoid about a Spanish word or other cultural Mexican item. I'm sure everyone get these, but it was a nice touch, on top of her otherwise exceptional attention to detail while cleaning or room or making sure we didn't need any additional items!
