Reviews for The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort

Fantastic stay! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Spent a week here in April with my husband and two sons, ages 12 and 14. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff was wonderful and eager to ensure we had a wonderful stay. The resort is low key and very relaxing. The sunset views are incredible, pools are wonderful and clean. Beaches are a bit rocky but that is the natural landscape. My teens enjoyed spending some down time in the kids club playing ping pong and board games. The food was spectacular. Our room was perfect! We all enjoyed the outdoor shower and terrace every morning. We went fishing through the charter company at the Seabreeze beach club (on site) and had a wonderful time. The captain brought some of the fish back to the resort and the chef made us a wonderful dinner! Everything was amazing! It was hard to leave to resort to come home but we look forward to returning someday soon! Worth every penny!

St. Regis Punta Mita embodies true hospitality

"I want to express my sincere gratitude to The St. Regis Punta Mita for an incredible experience at their beautiful resort. I am already looking forward to returning. The serenity and service exceeded all expectations. Our room, managed by Hayari, was a perfect escape with stunning beachfront views and an outdoor shower. The morning tea and coffee service was a lovely touch before heading to breakfast. Karen at check-in left us with a fantastic first impression, and the entire staff, including the bellman and butler, provided superb service. Mauricio, my initial contact at the resort, was exceptionally professional and knowledgeable. The breakfast staff were also excellent. Special thanks to Sigfrido (Sixth) and his team for the wonderful dining experience, including a visit from the chef. We enjoyed the food so much that we couldn't finish two pizzas! Next time, we'll skip the guacamole and crudité before the sabering to save room for dinner. The St. Regis Punta Mita embodies true hospitality, and I can't wait to visit again."

Spectacular stay!

My husband and I spent three nights at the St. Regis Punta Mita and was spectacular! We absolutely loved everything about it. Our room, 7301, Ocean view Junior Suite, had the best view and we loved the location of it - super close to what felt like the adult pool, and also a short walk to the Sea Breeze bar and that entrance which made the walk to the Golf Club very quick. The service was impeccable throughout, with special thanks to Leo and Marianna our butlers, they were very responsive to any question or need that we had. We visited almost every bar on property and especially enjoyed the tequila tasting with Luis at the Altamira bar. The property is in great shape with views of the Pacific that truly were stunning. If you are a golfer, I highly recommend a round of golf at the Pacifico Course; their Hole 3B, "Tail of the Whale" was a lot of fun and completely unique. So many beautiful holes right along the water. The chicken tacos at the Deck Grill at the course were delicious, too! We absolutely loved our time here and cannot wait to go back.

Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

My wife and I stayed here for five nights in March 2024. I’ll start with one of the lone positives: the service from individual employees is fantastic, true to form in Mexico… wait times can be spotty but the employees are incredibly kind and go out of their way to do anything they can for you. Andres, Jorge, Manuel, and Alberto all come to mind. That said, there are several drawbacks to this resort and there is zero chance we’d entertain returning. The culinary program leaves much to be desired and is one of the worst value props I’ve ever seen. Inflated prices are expected, but $40 USD for a sushi roll, $50 for a salad, etc. is fairly absurd unless there is quality to back it up (there isn’t). The restaurant menus are effectively expansive kids’ menus – 100 ways to do a burger or tacos, but virtually nothing requiring farm-local produce or chef-driven creativity/execution. From the stale sushi rice to the poor omelet cooks using unseasoned carbon steel pans (not their fault!) to burn your eggs in a bath of vegetable oil, the food was consistently mediocre and disappointing. We have never been to PV but in comparison, the on-site food in Cabo at several resorts (The Cape, Montage, Chileno Bay, Esperanza) is on a completely different level. The shoddy landscaping was also unexpected and diluted the overall feel of the property. I can’t recall the last time I saw so much dead grass at a resort. This isn’t a regional issue, either – we visited Susurros del Corazon (the new Auberge property) for dinner one evening and their landscaping was impeccable. It would take a wild imagination for anyone to think that the St. Regis belongs in the same stratosphere as Susurros, and I think it would be challenging to find any property in the world that is a more middling use of $2k/night. Also of note: there are only a handful of rooms with ocean views. We were upgraded to a suite w/ garden view due to Ambassador status – great room, indoor/outdoor shower, but your terrace is looking out at dirt. Also also: the gym sucks. Typically see nicer gyms in U.S. Westins. Not ideal when you are spending a week here. High-level, I think the only way this property makes sense is if you are a Marriott-loyalist coming with young children and using points / purchasing room(s) at an off-season rate.

Wonderful Vacation!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We just got back from an AMAZING week at the St. Regis Punta Mita. My family of 5 and had the best time. Rooms were spectacular, spacious, quiet and luxurious. They also got us connecting rooms, which made the vacation even better. All 5 of us said the beds were the best we have ever slept in at a hotel. We ate at 4/5 restaurants and enjoyed all our food. They also were extremely accommodating for kids who may be picky eaters. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and something we looked forward to every morning. And I can't express how each and every staff member we encountered was friendly and attentive, especially during a busy time of year, Spring Break! I'd especially like to point out Jesus Luna who served us at the Sea Breeze Beach Club every day! Also, our butlers, Edgar, Leo and Mariana were so helpful with dinner reservations, transportation and arranging a day out to Marietas Islands. We did the hidden beach and snorkeling trip - extremely fun! Plus the easy access to multiple pools, beach and town itself made everyday fun and relaxing. I would not hesitate a second to book a trip here again! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
