So, if you look for a resort in costa rica, to hang around at, with great beach, nice pools, lovely rooms, amazing view, and, most importantly- super nice team... its the place for you. Its not a place for someone who wants crazy nice life and so- super tranqilo, very romantic, super lovely

*Just one note of caution, sun is brutal so don't skimp on the sunscreen! :) My family of six (including 80 year old active grandma, 6, 8, and 12 year old kids) enjoyed our week long stay at this amazing remote retreat! The road in was bumpy and winding, but we were glad we hired transportation so we could just relax until we arrived. We all felt Martin was amazing and so friendly with my two young boys. ALL the staff was amazing and exceptional. We had two basic rooms, which were just fine for us. We spent most of our time down at the beach or doing an activity. The monkey hike was hot and not as exciting for the kids. We all loved zip lining and horseback riding. The kids enjoyed candle making and keychain making but for me it was okay. Beach painting could have been really cool if they had any examples, instruction, and better brushes! Yoga was fabulous. We usually walked up to the front desk and took a shuttle down to the beach as the walk was quite long. We rented boogie boards almost everyday, and my son took a surf lesson and rented a surf board the next day. The waves were quite mild and perfect for beginning surfers and kids playing in the water. Water was perfect temperature! My kids also loved swimming in the beach pool and enjoying shirley temples and juices at the swim up bar. We will not forget this vacation and hope to return again! My 6 year old said he wants to work there when he grows up. I think he could tell all the employees we interacted with seemed to love working there! Only wish there were more options at lunch/dinner. We did not do any of the special night dinners at the beach because they were pretty costly.

1) Do not fear the distance from LIR to the hotel. It's 2-3 hours away but a very scenic drive! 2) The best location I've ever stayed. Beautiful, clean and convenient! 3) Absolutely, amazing staff! From the main office and the staff on location. Every single person was delightful, worked hard and did their best to accommodate. Even working when they were off schedule. We planned this trip for my girlfriend birthday and almost canceled. Thank God we didn't. The activities were great that are included and the staff calls to make sure you stay on schedule. I could write a much longer review but perfect stay is all I have. I'd like to go back.

We stayed at Punta Islita for 5 days last week and stayed in a 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom villa named Cieba. The hotel exceeds what you see in the on-line photos - the views are stunning from every angle. The staff are the most friendly and kind people. Christina went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, checked in with us daily, always with a smile! Service from the entire staff, especially Edgar and Margarita made our meal-times extraordinary. The staff is just the best! Housekeeping does an amazing job! The beach is gorgeous. You feel like you are at peace with the world. Yes it's far from your room, call for a shuttle, it's not big deal. You are there in a couple minutes and can eat, relax all day long. Our boys surfed every day. $20 cash per board at the beach and it's yours for the day. They did not need lessons so we cannot comment on that. We went on the monkey hike (hot) and sort of unexciting, we went zip-lining, so much fun! we went horseback riding and my 9 year old took a cooking class to make (and eat) Sea Bass Ceviche. We went to another resort in Peninsula Papagayo for 2 days after, let me tell you, it was gorgeous and luxe with terrible views, adequate staff, boring beach and in no way compared to this resort. So yes, Autograph Punta Islita is far from Liberia, yes there are a LOT of stairs -but we loved this resort, we were sad to leave and will absolutely return.

I was traveling alone to the Hotel Punta Islita and stayed for 4 days. The hotel is remote, so about 2 hours drive from Liberia Airport. Beautiful location on the beach with amazing room views. The staff gave me an upgraded room, private villa for having good Marriott status. The rooms are a little older, but the private jacuzzi and hammocks made up for it. The staff was amazing - did everything for me to enjoy my stay, the property and activities. They were very friendly and helpful. Service was great! Food was just ok, you can only really eat in the resort as there isn't much local fare around the hotel location. That would be the only weakness, the lunch/dinner menu available and variety in food options. i would recommend this resort without any reservation if you are looking for a few days of remote relaxation with great service.
