The entire team at the J.W. Marriott delivered an exceptional experience from start to finish. In the concierge lounge, Anel, Maxine, Antonio, and José went above and beyond, making us feel truly valued and well taken care of. Their hospitality was top-tier, and because of them, we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

We had a very nice stay at the JW for our first trip to Panama. Service was great –consistently friendly, competent, and personal – at all levels – podium, reception/check in, concierge, housekeeping, and at the Executive Lounge/M Club. We think the heart of a good hotel is the staff. Staff like these can compensate for other shortcomings. Facilities – The Lounge has a covered outside area overlooking the pool and with an ocean view. This area is open for users of the pool so one needs to use one’s key card to re-enter the interior lounge. Nice assortment for breakfast – including to order made eggs -- as well as the small plates served in the late afternoon/early evening. Decor – Hotel and rooms are nicely furnished. As others have noted, there is no separate bathroom. Presumably due more to economics than aesthetics. Our room had two frosted glass enclosures one for the separate shower and one for the toilet. We did see some rooms with an unenclosed bathtub out in the room separated by a curtain of some sorts from the rest of the room. One nit – our shower did not have a wall ledge and the soap dish attached to the shower wall would not accommodate more than one of the three bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash at the same time which was rather inconvenient , Unless I suppose one has a shower buddy to hold them. On the ground floor level there are a variety of shops among them a convenience store, barbershop, laundry, and several offices offering real estate services. You can top up your previously purchased local SIM at a kiosk in the convenience store. The attendant in the store helped us through the process. The building (which includes a condo and casino) provides an hourly shuttle to/from the MultiPlaza Mall – which may remind certain visitors of the “glory” years of malls in North America. There are two mobile phone providers if one needs to buy a SIM. This is on the terrace (third level) farthest from the drop-off point. Past a substantial collection of US “fast food” restaurants/outlets. We had heard there was “nothing” near the hotel. That’s not accurate. Within walking distance around the corner from the Metro Pharmacy there is a Foodies, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, the excellent Patisserie Saint Honore (see our review), a laundry, and a beauty salon. Transport – Easy to get an UBER. However, note that pickups are at the building directly across the street from the JW. Drop offs at the hotel podium.

I initially booked at another Marriott property and was moved here halfway through to my stay due to HVAC issues. From the moment we entered to the moment we left everything was impeccable. Service was top notch from everyone we encountered. Nelino at Masai for breakfast was extremely friendly and recommended so many places for us to visit. He said he was practicing his English but his English was 100% better than my Spanish. Amelio at the pool deck restaurant was also extremely friendly. The front desk staff were always helpful and quick to rectify any issues that came about with our reservations due to being moved from another hotel. I never saw my housekeeper but our room was well kept which made it so comfortable to rest at night. Might I add that there pillows are the best hotel pillows I’ve ever slept on. All in all my group gave this hotel a 10/10!!!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the JW Marriott Panama. A special thank you to Ms. Elvia Caixa, who was responsible for the cleanliness of our suite. Every day she ensured the room was spotless and perfectly prepared for us. Her attention to detail, professionalism, and warm attitude truly stood out and made our stay even more comfortable. Employees like Ms. Caixa are a great reflection of the high standards at this hotel. We sincerely appreciate her hard work and hope management recognizes what an outstanding job she is doing.
