We spent seven glorious nights at Palau Cativo. I looked for several months to find a place worth of celebrating 25 years of marriage. This was the perfect location to end our three week holiday in Costa Rica. The staff were exceptional and attentive but not in an over bearing way that is common in most cases. From the moment you are picked up you feel like all the staff are family friends you have known for years.The food was exceptional,we was worried that because my wife is vegetarian and I am allergic to fish and shellfish that there would be limited choice but there was plenty of choice for both lunch and dinner ,no meal was repeated for our three day stay. The food was fresh and the additional small edible flowers , picked from the garden before each meal added that special touch.The wildlife is exceptional with an abundance of birds , monkeys ,coati ,frogs, crabs , dolphins , fish,bats and snakes.Our guide was very knowledgeable and demonstrating a true understanding of the environment and biodiversity.We would highly recommend Playa Cativo

Wow! What an amazing place! Everything was exceptional from beginning to end. The location is obviously beautiful, there are sweeping views from every corner of the lodge. We stayed in one of the plunge pool casitas rooms and it was beautiful. We were full board and I have to say that we have never eaten so well. The food was so fresh and delicious. There was options for everyone and the chefs were so accommodating. There are many tours offered, Cindy was our guide and was wonderful, she was very insightful and passionate about her work, answering all our questions. The treatments at the spa were just as wonderful. Marcela and her colleague were excellent. On top of all of this, the staff were really the best. They made the stay so enjoyable, worry free and were ever so helpful. All the guys one the front desk team were lovely and helpful. The waiters were great especially Mike. Mike went above and beyond for us and couldn’t have been nicer. He also hosted a special cocktail making class for us which was such great fun! I would love to go back!

What an amazing, once in a lifetime experience. Playa Cativo is more for the adventurous and intrepid traveler. Such a beautiful and remote setting where you can truly get off the grid. The food was so fresh and superb, the facilities so comfortable, but ultimately it is the staff that heightens the experience even more. They are all so wonderful and friendly and get to know you so they can make your stay even more pleasant.

Our stay at Playa Cativo Lodge was truly unforgettable!! The whole family enjoyed it! The lodge was a peaceful paradise and the perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature. What made the experience even more special was the amazing staff members. Everyone was so warm and attentive, and we especially want to thank Mike, Alonso, Cindy, Natasha, and Ivan for their exceptional hospitality. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. We left with wonderful memories and would highly recommend Playa Cativo Lodge to anyone looking for a unique and peaceful escape in Costa Rica.
