What a magical place! A unique location bursting with unforgettable memories. The Lodge itself, facilities, guides, food and staff were all geared to providing the best experiences for all guests. We wished we were staying longer than our 4 nights. A perfect finale to a perfect stay in Costs Rica

Beyond compare

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We spent seven glorious nights at Palau Cativo. I looked for several months to find a place worth of celebrating 25 years of marriage. Located on the shores of a National Forest, Cativo brings luxury accommodations, 5-star food and, world class hospitality to a remote location, all while respecting and living in harmony with the environment. Keeping a balance with the most but-diverse area on the planet and simultaneously inviting guests to a one of a kind d experience is a master class in Eco-Tourism. Alessandro, Laura, Mike, Ivan, Alonso, Paulo, and all those behind the scenes who made our stay spectacular- words are not enough! If you’re shopping for a place to feel pampered, dine until your heart is content, have spa treatments, and experience true Pura Vida- this is it!

Playa Cativo - Exceptional Location in the Jungle

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This was the perfect location to end our three week holiday in Costa Rica. The staff were exceptional and attentive but not in an over bearing way that is common in most cases. From the moment you are picked up you feel like all the staff are family friends you have known for years. The food was exceptional,we was worried that because my wife is vegetarian and I am allergic to fish and shellfish that there would be limited choice but there was plenty of choice for both lunch and dinner ,no meal was repeated for our three day stay. The food was fresh and the additional small edible flowers , picked from the garden before each meal added that special touch. The wildlife is exceptional with an abundance of birds , monkeys ,coati ,frogs, crabs , dolphins , fish, bats and snakes. Our guide was very knowledgeable and demonstrating a true understanding of the environment and biodiversity. We would highly recommend Playa Cativo
