There are so few times that you check into a hotel that not only boosts the most amazing views, rooms and appointments but is also staffed by the most thoughtful outgoing people that you can imagine. My wife and I’s first time to Costa Rica and after the amazing 1.5 days in the capitol (Hotel Grano De Oro) absorbing the culture we slipped away to Villa Caletas. I’m telling you now – look no further you absolutely most stay here at least once in your life – I am hoping for more. I’m no travel expert – just a humble engineer but when you can have breakfast with Ramon and Norman (yes – his papa named him after a famous footballer) and dinner with Stonford – whom I might add gave the most wonderful mini-speech on the importance of happiness and a positive attitude you are in for a treat. And of course Reiner – our first dinner - he took the time to explain each important detail – which as you know is very important when you have just arrived. Frankly I feel terrible for not getting the names of the other wonderful staff members – the kind hearted gentlemen that made the best Gin and Tonics at the main pool – and his assistant. There is no reason to even consider another hotel in Costa Rica –book Villa Caletas now.

From the moment we drove up the driveway, I felt like I was on the tv show "Lives of the rich and famous". This is the hotel that you dream about. Perched on a mountain ridge with amazing views of the pacific and the mountains, our villa surpassed our expectations. Monkeys visited us every morning. The pool is just heaven, and the food is amazing. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and care about your stay. This will now be my go to place whenever I am in this area of Costa Rica. Do not miss this amazing paradise.

We had breakfast at Anfiteatro Bar and Restaurant. The Shrimp Burrito is amazing! We had a party of 14. The view is breathtaking! It's beautiful. The prices were very reasonable as well, especially since we were not guest of the hotel and just went for breakfast. Fun ride up the mountain as well.
