Azur in Queenstown, New Zealand

Nestled between The Remarkables, the cerulean stillness of Lake Wakatipu, and a wild expanse of New Zealand bush, Azur is a remote hillside retreat that's only a five-minute drive from town. The stone and silver beech villas prove there is nothing more beautiful than nature itself: Glass walls and wraparound decks beckon panoramic views, while thoughtful touches like in-room aromatherapy burners stocked with essential oils invite a deeper sense of grounding. Before you decide to make that plush bathrobe permanent, remember this: Queenstown is a gateway to the kind of skiing, rafting, hiking and adrenaline activities that tops bucket lists.

Take a moment to do something reflective as you watch the morning sky open over Cecil and Walter peaks: jot in your journal, inhale the aroma of a steaming Zealong tea, or simply breathe and appreciate the surroundings. Request the breakfast you desire at the lodge to fuel up for a trek across scrubby subalpine woodland through a forest of red beech and tawhero trees. Walk back through Queenstown, keeping an eye out for Maori crafts before enjoying a dinner of freshly shucked oysters lakefront.

This was our second consecutive time to Azur and we were not disappointed. Every aspect made our 4 day stay relaxing, fun and magical. Being at Azur just makes you happy. The villa is luxuriously serene and beautiful. The landscape provides seclusion and privacy whilst exposing you to the most magnificent views. The attention to detail, exemplary daily service and friendliness makes the staff the best by far. Azur makes your stay in beautiful Queenstown that much more extraordinary and precious. We are truly grateful for our time there. It is unforgettable and leaves such a lovely imprint on your spirit. Azur is definitely worth it!

It was our first time to Queenstown and my husband and I just spent 4 nights at Azur Lodge and it was well beyond our expectations! All the staff from the moment we were picked up went above and beyond for us with every aspect of our stay. Very luxurious villas with spectacular views of the mountain and lake. The lodge is extremely well run and it showed though all of the lovely staff. All the staff were personable and friendly and the car service they provide dropped us off and picking us up into town whenever required within 5-10 min of calling. We were recommended wonderful activities and best places to eat and every place we tried on recommendation was excellent. We had the romantic in house dinner package on one of our nights where they came in and set up a wonderful meal that we chose from in town with flowers and candles which was stunning. All food, drinks, and the entire experience was excellent. We wish we knew about this place when were on our honeymoon 10 years ago! Thank you so much for an unforgettable holiday! We will be back!

Villa 1 - spectacular - this is our second trip here in the year. This time to celebrate our wedding anniversary and a significant birthday. As was the case last year, the accommodation, service, professionalism and willingness of Gavin and his team was first class. Nothing was too much effort and a spectacular setting, this truly is a one off where you will feel pampered yet private. We shall return

We got engaged at Azur last year and really wanted to come back again - this time for our first wedding anniversary. Such a wonderful place. Views, comfort, facilities, keeping us warm... amazing. The staff definitely make the place - from chefs excellent breakfasts and canapés, Maria's stunning afternoon teas, being driven to and from town, the airport, restaurants, having amazing suggestions made for us, and then having them booked... we still think it's the best place on earth! Gavin, Amanda and the team are just fantastic- thanks again for looking after us from the bottom of our hearts! We'll see you during ski season next year!!

My wife and I had the pleasure of recently staying at the Azur lodge for one week. It was a very comfortable stay and the service was some of the best we have ever experienced . The staff have obviously been recruited and trained very well. I won't single out any one person as every single staff member was very friendly and helpful from the kitchen right up to the house keepers. Before we booked we were not sure on the location as the last time we stayed in queenstown we were in the middle of the town. It really is only a 5 minute drive and the lodge makes you feel very comfortable in using their service to drop off and pick up in town. We had a car but it was much more convenient not having to park the car ! The location is far enough away to enjoy the views from a premium viewpoint and the serenity but so close to the action. We loved the location. We were in town mainly for the ski season so there was nothing better than coming home after a day on the slopes and enjoying the view and the villa which is beautiful. We really didn't want to venture out and we're quite happy to stay in the villa. If you choose to eat breakfast in the villa which we did most of the time the staff set up the table in a beautiful way. They also do the same for dinner or lunch if you want to stay in with choice of cuisine from many Queenstown restaraunts picked up brought into the villa for your convenience . We ordered a specialty lamb dish (pedros make sure you try it !!) one night which comes with scalloped potatoes . They picked up the meal from the restaraunt and to provide you an example of the extra little care they provide , they cooked some peas for us to serve with this takeaway meal to have as a side as they thought it would go well with it . I thought the little things they did like this was a great touch and what makes this place so special . If you look at the pictures of this lodge you can see that it really is a special place in a special location. But what really makes this place great is the manner in which the staff manage the place and treat their guests. Thankyou Azur lodge , We hope to return one day .
